[News] Eisenberg: Fair To Expect A Lot From Terrell Suggs ... Within Reason

25 posts in this topic

What I expect from Sizzle this year.... anything involving a fully healthy year, and numbers in the range of 40-50tckls minimum 8 sacks. A borderline pro bowl year to pro bowl year... For 1 of the 2or3 most dominant run stuffing OLBR/DE..slash pass rusher since being in the NFL.

This Defense won w/o some big names when everyone thought they would fold! All Sizzle has to do is pace himself and let the youngsters wreak havoc and he will come up with some big plays!

Everyone talks about his ability to set the edge as "underrated", while its something he does very well, its a thank-less job (JJ as a prime example). I would argue that his ability to sniff out and then blow up a screen is his most underrated ability.

Agreed, also liked hearing he was helping a few of the young guys when he was sidelined

He even intercepts some of them. He does sniff them out.

This team needs Sizzle.....Bottom line! We are wayyyy better with him out there. His presence alone, is good for several wins. I only hope we can find out who will be the next cornerstone of this defense

Absurd to say just having a less than fully recovered (if he even does get there) Suggs on the field provides additional competitiveness, especially if the young guys can get to the QB quicker, which is probably the case.

Their already here. Corrrea, Z.Smith, Judon, Orr, J.Smith, T.Young

I don't think we make him into a passing down rusher, but I do think his role will be slightly limited. With all the young pass-rushers we have and Z.Smith continuing to look like Suggs eventual replacement, I think he will be rotated in and out often.

Matt Judon #91 is looking very good. Donning the number 91 jersey it feels like I'm watching Upshaw reincarnated as a bigger and smarter beast. Throw a guy like him in the mix with Suggs and Dumervil. I think we are in a good position right now as far as our LB group

I don't expect him to be a double-digit sack machine anymore, but I do expect him to be able to replace Upshaw as an edge-setter while providing a substantial upgrade over Upshaw as a pass-rusher.

Sorry but how on earth is Orr a future cornerstone of our defense? He might not even be good enough to play/start this year when we have a hole at mlb. The other guys I'm good with in your statement but Orr?

I'd would be extremely surprised if Sizzle didn't have at least 10 sacks this year. Playing less or not. I still see 12 sacks and 3-5 FF. It's almost a sure thing he'll have a couple multiple sacks games so 10-14 sacks seems likely imo. We'll see though. I think he's a prideful guy and is really going to work his butt off to finish his career on a high note with his usual productivity

I hope Ozzie can sign a veteran corner like Antonio Cromartie before the season starts as well as trading for a LB. l would love to get somebody like Paul Posluszny from the Jaguars or something because we got somebody like Eugene Monroe unexpected so you never know. Might not happen, but you never know unless you give them a call. ?

I cant believe we didn't sign Freeman when he was available. I think we missed out big time there. I was thinking about Cromartie and I don't like the thought of him being a full time corner. However I LOVE the idea of bringing him in to be a redzone corner. Once teams get inside about the 40, having him and Jimmy on the outside would be excellent. I think they're both about 6'2. That would also really reduce the chances of him getting burned deep like last year. His speed might be fading, but I think he would be a great situational CB for us. As far as MLB, I don't think anybody at all knows what's gonna happen there....Orr, KC, Arthur Brown, Weddle at times, hopefully not McCleallan, a trade. MLB is a mystery right now

I think Orr played well at ILB. Also, I like the new dime defense the Ravens will use. Having a safety like Brooks ,who is physical, to play ILB on passing downs makes the defense faster. A Player like Correa can play inside or outside like Timmons on the Steelers. Ravens may have a one of the strongest LB corp in the league. A good combination of vets and young talented players. I would like Ravens to pick up a corner if available after cuts. The combination of Wright, Powers, and Smith scares me. We could use another solid guy at CB.

I think we'll really know the team we have after the first few games. We must win the first 2 games without question. If we drop one of those, it won't bode well for the rest of the season. I think the first half of the season we need to drop no more than 1 game at worst to remain in contention...

I think Sizzle plays til at least 36. That is 3 more years...a lot of players come and go in 3 years. Sure we have a few good prospects, so lets see what happens. Doom may go before Sizzle never know. Suggs at 60% (prime) is better than half of the OLB in the league. He occupies more space on the field than just 1 Offensve player can compensate for. This is his biggest attribute.

The most important thing about having Suggs on the field is that he understands our divisional offenses better than anybody, including Pees. When you roll out young players into Heinz Field or Paul Brown Stadium, you need to have a supremely tough, confident and experienced guy on the field playing with you. He understands how to pressure Roethlisberger and Dalton and brings everyone up a couple notches just by being out there. That's what it takes to win divisional games. That, and Jimmy Smith hopefully shutting down AJ Green for once. Objective #1: WIN THE DIVISION.

MLB really isn't a mystery, it seems like Orr wrapped up the starting job next to Mosley.

My problem could be that I haven't seen Orr play much- I live in California and didn't get to see every game last year. I still just have a hard time believing Orr is going to be the clear starter and keep the job all year. Unless he is stellar against the pass that is. I'm curious to see how he holds up against lineman coming down hill at him while he's listed at 6 feet 225lbs. Hopefully he can play the position at a smaller size like some guys do. LaVonte David would be one but he's still 10 lbs heavier. With all the talent we have on the edges, I think KC is going to end up getting a lot of time at MLB. And will Arthur Brown finally step up. To be honest I haven't seen Orr play much, so please, let me know if you think the guy's a monster. Just from my somewhat limited angle, I can't see him being the full time starter all year. I could certainly be wrong though.

I think going 7-1 through the first 8 is VERY doable. I love the fact that we have a bye week, basically in the middle of the year, and it's right before we play the steelers at home. I like our schedule this year. Weeks 14, 16, and 17 looks like our toughest stretch for sure. If we win 2 of those 3, I think we'll finish 12-4, maybe even 13-3.
