[News] Ravens Have No Timetable On Breshad Perriman's Return, But He's Running

52 posts in this topic

I have no expectations as far as Perriman is concerned. Again, if he manages to make it to the field will another fall or non-contact play take him out? Hope Chris Moore surprises people and gives us another playmaker.

When have they ever? I'll believe he'll play when he steps on the field. Until then as far as I'm concerned he's out for the year.

Moore, and Waller have the deep threat ability we need, and i still believe in Perriman, and hopes he really gets back at full strength, and gets on the field, and does what we drafted him to do....As long as he is a Raven i will support him, and root for him...

Looking at the comments, if I was Perriman, I wouldn't be in any hurry to come play in front of fans like this. These are the ilk that booed Hyun Soo Kim with the Orioles because "they" didn't like that he didn't go to the minor leagues, yet he leads the team in average. Seems he knew more than most (which isn't too hard with fans like this). Same will be true here. These same haters will be on the bandwagon, just like they did Kim, when he goes out and shines and proves what he can do. I am satisfied to wait for that to happen. I just ask that they put him on the PUP through week 6 and open that spot for Jeremy Butler or Keenan Reynolds. I prefer Butler, but that is Ozzie and John's choice.

This!! I'm sure no one is more frustrated with this than Periman himself. As fans we should support our players. He did nothing wrong (injuries did this to him).

I'm rooting for him and hope they just keep him on the PUP until week 6.

I'm pretty sure a lot of these players purposely ignore message boards and such, though the same cannot be said of their friends and family. I try to remember that sometimes when I post here, not to trash a player too severely.

I'm not on board with calling Perriman a bust or hating on him for being injured. I mean, it's not like he can help it, and it's even more frustrating for him. He has suffered 2 freak knee injuries after being injury-free in college. He could come back and be healthy for many years after this.

And I was totally against booing Kim (literally nothing to gain by doing it), but that's a topic for another forum.

Because Waller really strutted his stuff against Carolinas backups right?

For me it's the "I don't know what's going on!!" or the misinformation that has frustrated me. Look at the support for Pitta...because we know what's going on with him. I care huge about our team and I like to know how our players are REALLY doing.

We would do well by not having non-update, updates on Perriman. All it does is stir things up. I don't know why anyone in the organization would even have said a "mid-August" return, because that only means if he's not on the field come 8/16, there will be more angst around the situation.

I can't think of another player whose injuries seem to be more shrouded in mystery than they are for Perriman. That's not "hating" on him - I feel for him because I know he's got to be dying to prove himself to his teammates - it is just the reality of the situation. I've not seen anything like it.

Some people just complain for the sole purpose of complaining! They hate like Haters but get an allergic reaction when they get called so. Thus, I won't call anyone out by name but you know who you are.

I remember not too long ago people were complaining about SSS's arrival and how he's washed up (keep in mind we had burners in T.Smith and Jacoby). SSS plays well and all the hate goes to Torrey.

Not too long ago people were calling for a first round WR. The Ravens were drafting late in the first and got the steal of the draft. It happens to be the guy got hurt. Out come the haters. Even when we hear good news the hate continues.

Not too long ago people were saying we need an insurance policy in case Perriman gets hurt. We get M.Wallace. The best option we could get! And the haters come out of their caves and continue to hate.

The same goes with our TEs. We have a pro bowler that took a 4mil dollar paycut. A second and third rounder that are developing beautifully at their pace. We bring in a Vet that had his best season just 6 months ago just in case injuries cripple us and haters are still hating!

I only have one thing to say.........

Zip it! This is the best group of pass catchers we have ever had in Baltimore so get on board or jump off. This ship is sailing with or without you.

Ravens all the way!

I would much rather have a healthy Perriman on the field that can actually run, cut and catch effectively without any lingering knee issues. If that means I have to be patient, I will. As much as i want to see Perriman out there, I know the reason he can't isn't his fault nor is it the fault of the Ravens organization. So, let's just wait and see. I know this much that when he is fully healthy and able to play, he'll be a great addition to our team.

Sounds eerily familiar

It's obvious Perriman's knees are fragile. I'm starting to doubt that he will ever contribute. Would think the Ravens would have known this BEFORE the draft!

Guess coach and Oz forgot their crystal ball at draft time.

Hopefully since having what seems like far too many injuries the last season, we will catch a break. I am thinking maybe the ravens are healthy enough for week 1 and get off to a good start and then start getting those last few puzzle pieces and really scare opponents. This team does seem to have more weapons/threats than I can remember for a long while back.

He never had any issues in college.
In fact, he missed just 3 games his entire college career.
The scouting reports rated him high on durability when the Ravens drafted him.

Wallace is going to be such a deep threat this season. Perriman will be back, but when he gets on the field he will still be buried deep in the depth chart. I think that putting him on PUP for the first 6 weeks will be the safest route to go.

Yea. Well, at least Kim shows what he can do, because he actually PLAYS.

Waller did really well. He had 5 catches. Not his fault they didn't send him deep.

Why are we still wasting time on this guy?

Cuz hes a beast when hes healthy. Not his fault and hes busting his butt to get back on the field. Its not a waste of time. Just wait and see.

The "STEAL of the draft," huh? Shouldn't the guy have to play at least ONE down, to justify that nonsense.

elam, brooks, camponaro, perriman, arthur brown etc.. etc.. these are guys i want to see make the team and have an impact especially elam, arthur brown and perriman because high draft picks were used on them but you need to get on the field, stay healthy and strut your stuff at some point. no one can control injuries but unfortunately teams cannot keep waiting and at some point the cord will be cut. hopefully camponaro, perriman, urban, taliaferro can stay healthy and produce

You just made my point. Shouldn't a 22 year old play one down before we call him a bust?

he still has 3 more years on his rookie deal and 8 before he's 30. If he has no 1000 yard seasons then call him a bust. Until then. Anyone calling him a bust is just defining nonsense
