NFL Preseason Week 1 other teams

It doesn't mean much since the Eagles were planning on red shirting Wentz but Wentz suffered a hairline rib fracture after the game against Tampa on Thursday Night. The Eagles offensive line did struggle during the game and it must be alarming that Wentz is injured with an oft injured Sam Bradford penciled in as the starter. Considering Lane Johnson's suspension, and the O-Line issues continue for the Eagles, Carson Wentz might be playing at some point this year.

Their run game has been impressive, even Murray took a 71 yard Run for a TD.

I actually wasn't wildly impressed by their running game as a whole. The TD came off a good play by Lewan and Jones, but 99% of Murray's yards came off that TD and the first play of the game. If they're going to be that feast or famine during the regular season they're going to have a lot of drives stalling. And it's not like SD are the 2000 Ravens.

Also the commentators said Mariota "needs to work on staying healthy". What's Mariota supposed to do there? "OK boss, I'll try harder to not have my leg broken."

It's so obvious... He should drink more milk

The Titans auctioned off the right to call the first two plays of the game, with the proceeds going to charity. The first two plays (ie, the ones called by rich fans) both went for massive gains, but when the regular OC started calling plays again they promptly went three and out.

Also the commentators said Mariota "needs to work on staying healthy". What's Mariota supposed to do there? "OK boss, I'll try harder to not have my leg broken."

That kinda neat. Do you remember what plays were called?

I'm 100% sure Wentz will play. Too much change equals little chemistry and right now I'd pick them last in the NFCEast. Philly fans just wont have it. The calls to the sports radio shows in that area is just gonna be crazy.

Brock looked pretty mediocre.

Funny thing is Texans just extended GM Rick Smith's contract who will probably be fired if Brock stays mediocre.

Miami and the Big Tunsil

1st Miami Offensive Series:

Dallas Thomas, 4th year, 315, completely overwhelmed. No other way to put it.  Not gonna take the time to determine who manhandled him, but Giants starting D looking  good.  Quite good.

3rd Miami Series.....THE BIG TUNSIL is IN!!!
1- finds no one to block
2- Double teams Noseguard, but Matt Moore throws unpressured pick.
4th Miami Series
3- Tunsil blocks his man to the right into the ball carriers path. Aggressive looking block however.
4- Run to Big Tunsil's side, but the man he attempts to block gets in on the tackle. Not a good play
5- Pass, Tunsil not only seals his man, he bull punches him off the rush.  Don't know who, but still nice pass block
Next Miami Series
6- Tunsil moves his man out of the ball carriers path.  They are running with the Big Tunsil
7- quick pass.......tunsils man clears on quick hitter but its completed. average play
8- Tunsil neutralizes his man, but Fins punt........no first downs yet.
Next fins series
9- Tunsil covers ground and does a great job with a seal
10- Good Pass block for the Big Tunsil
11- Tunsil literally finds no one to block on 1st down conversion
12- Tunsil hits nose guard but doesn't move him.......positive run
13- Tunsil blows DT off ball
14- Tunsil neutralizes DT on pass play
FG Fins on board 3-10
Fins make pick
15 Fins Left Side OLine collapses Giant D.......TD ......Tunsil good block
Next series
16- Tunsil stones a new pass rusher.........just stops him and stands him up
17- No pass rush opposition again.......are they avoiding Tunsil?
18- Double team another completetion
19- Tunsil Stones a big bull rusher........wow
20- Tunsil Stones same big DT.........stones him, this ain't finesse blocking folks
21- Tunsil blocks 2 defenders..........he may let first go a little prematurely...TD
2nd half  Tunsil still in
22- blocks his man towards play direction again.......but big gainer
23 WOW.......Stoned again
24-2nd and 1 Tunsil moves line 2 yards with power...Conversion.......my oh my
25. Wow......fights upfield........good block on semi trap play........small gainer
26. Play goes other way when Tunsil pulls left......many of Stanley's 1st game plays were similar
27. Tunsil stops a bull rusher.......not a stone
28 Tunsil blows a player off the hole........
29 Tunsil stones his rusher at the line for an extended time, QB sacked
30 They keep lining up fresh rushers on Tunsil and the result is almost universally the same....nada
31. Tunsil stays right on his man on a busted play
32. Tunsil follows his man inside on a completion......not really a factor
33. Tunsil rides out another pass rusher........Fins rollin
34. Tunsils man beats him to the off center guard hole and makes tackle for loss
35. Tunsil seems to get lost and is not involved in screen play...third and long
36. Tunsil gets far upfield on a sreen and fins covert..........doesn't really make his block....but the hustle was complete
37. Away play where tunsil blocks his man into direction of play for 3rd time.......his man makes tackle
38. Tunsil ties up another fresh lineman ....minimal gain
39. Tunsil looks awkward on no opponent play.......foot stepped on and he goes down
40 Tunsil stones yet another fresh pass rusher....Fins down deep
41. Tunsil pulls runs into at least two giant lineman and seems to bounce off his block.  Good effort though
42 Tunsil fights another bull rusher keeps QB safe....but fins kick for FG...Tunsil appeared to tire in this series.....he was very active.
Next Fins Possession
43 Tunsil stones another fresh face
44. Tunsil again.......fighting and sealing on a block.
45. They run to Tunsil again, pulls and makes effective man moving block
46. Tunsil looking again, puts his shoulder into a man late....incomplete
47. Non involvement play.......maybe busted
48. Tunsil blocks his man but he recovers and makes tackle about 8 yards downfield.
49 Tunsil takes his man and moves him out to create the hole. ....textbook
50. Tunsil turns his man outta the hole
51. Tunsil appears to be only lineman to move downfield on 3rd and short...4th down
52. Tunsils man circles left and runs himself out of bootleg right.....TD

Tunsil is playing out of position and I could detect the fact he wasn't always sure what his assignment was.  But once he came in there was no Rush Pressure from his side. It's preseason, but he is clearly the starter.

Didn't analyze the Giant Defenders and am quite certain their starters were long gone by the time The Big Tunsil finished his night's work.  But then I know for a fact that our Rookie faced a starter for 3 plays. It is preseason.   That known, would somebody please shake me and wake me up and when you do whisper me into a trance and tell me that Laremy Tunsil is a Raven.
Let it be so

Lol he knocks Stanley for going against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but praises Tunsil for the same thing. Lol whatever dude, get out of here. Tunsil is never coming here so here's to you staying asleep forever. Cheers!

^ I gotta say this. Your commitment is superb.

Thank You, I am adamant.  Being right would be very very sweet. But I want the Ravens to be the preeminent team in the NFL and they are not moving that way. What really bothers is that we have the QB to do it, but we insist upon isolating him.

I do believe Stanley played the majority of his snaps against a Linebacker/DE that is in jeopardy of being cut.  Make no qualifications upon who Tunsil embarrassed and he also did make some  mistakes. But his dominant plays were supremely dominant. Ogden started as a guard, which is a tough position due to multidirectional responsibility.  Tunsil made one play that was very noteworthy, he stoned two rushers on the same play from vastly different angles and a pass TD ensued.

What was clear is that they were Running with the Big Tunsil and not away from him.  Agree it's preseason, but my oh my.

Unfortunately he is not a Raven, but this is a "other teams" thread.

I ignored this guy, how is it I'm still seeing his posts? I normally don't shy away from good or heated debates, but this is just idiocy in all honesty.

Edit: Nevermind, got it! Had to go to preferences and select what I wanted to ignore.

If you read the posts about Stanley and Tunsil it becomes obvious the bias is real. He calls a good jump a false start and bashes him for sealing off the edge and forcing an overpursuit, meanwhile says "Tunsil blocked his man into the running lane but it was an aggressive block", all the aggression in the world means Jack if you're runner has nowhere to go.

Unbelievable, truly, to dedicate so much of your time solely to methodically bash a player and be wrong about nearly every aspect.
