1. I still hate the Dean Pees bend but don't break defensive philosophy. Its just not Ravens football and we are too talented to play passive most of the game!

2. The competition at RB is better than I imagined it would be. West looked really good and Dixon may end up being our starter for some time to come.

3. Our DBackfield still looked lost at times.... hope that is just first game stuff but IDK this has been the pattern under Pees. Next game 2 or 3 games may tell us a lot about what we should expect from our DB this year.

4. Our TEs are really good (Boyle and Waller can play ball and Daniel Brown can play in this league)

5. Cant wait to see us with a full compliment of players (Suggs, Doom, SSS, Joe,Forsett, Perriman) those are some huge additions that will win games for us. Cant wait!

West had 2.8 yards per carry. Allen had 1 yard per carry. Dixon had 4.8 yards per carry. Since when is 2.8YPC and 1YPC stealing the show? I was not impressed one bit with the performance we put forward. If the Panther starters would have played the entire game we would have got creamed by 35. Its only the first preseason game (don't mean to be a debbie downer) but everything
i have seen and read indicates we are a 7-9 non-playoff team. Hope it doesn't come to fruition but last year I had the same feeling and predicted we would finish 5-11 or 6-10 at best. Which is exactly were we finished.

Obviously you didn't watch the game.

I agree with your first comment. It jumped off the screen, Pees' vanilla play calling style and is predictable blitz schemes. He does not care about yards between the 20s so Ravens defense is design to yield point just not TDs. Bend but don't break is a losing mentality.

1. The defensive secondary is more talented. I think Price, Davis, Young played well. Brooks is a thumper. He adds the physicality to the secondary. They should find ways to get him on the field. Jimmy Smith did not blanket receivers as wells as Price and Davis. Powers got beat like he stole something. Young guys seemed to outplay the vets IMO.

2. Linebacker corps looks awesome. All of them looked like they can contribute. Correa showed he can set the edge and you can see the speed. Orr is physical. Carter looks like a solid blitzer. Judon and Z. Smith put on good presser

3. IMO the run game lacks a physical lead blocker. Whether it’s been Gash, McClain, O’Neal, or Leach. The Ravens run game seems to be at its best when they had a physical lead blocker. That’s not Juice’s game. You can see the burst each has, but I am still concerned with ability to pound it in short yards situation.

4. Receiving corp. Who do you keep? Guys that are not as talented versus guys who can stay healthy. Guys like Waller and Butler are probably not as talented as Gilmore, Boyle, Perriman, and Campanero. However, they are healthy contributors.

5. Both line were great. On Defense, DTs Henry and Pierce stole the show. They played in the Panther backfield. On Offense, Stanley looked solid and Lewis looks like a solid backup at LT

is it just me or did weddle and webb look like midgets on the back end. only one game but i was definitely not impressed with the secondary play at all. powers was awful. on offense i was not pleased with the running game. aside from a few descent runs there were not many lanes to run through. west 2.8 avg. and allen had a 1.0 avg.. im sure we will see improvement moving forward

They are smaller than most safety combinations, and against the Panthers WR size they really look small. Here is something to consider. The Ravens often get caught in single coverage, it happens much too often. if you notice when Levine and Elam are in , the corners tend to play up and bump the WR. When Weddle and Webb are in the corners play off..now interesting is that Weddle has not learned which corners are weaker than others. Hopefully Webby can give help deep more often.

I dont blame that botched catch on Waller. I know WR are supposed to catch what ever is in range but its just common sense. You dont throw at a guys knees when he is 6'6. Save that for Camp or SSS, Waller has the size and speed to win deep balls and redzone jump balls so can we please use this guys height to our advantage. This guy could be a amazing threat since he and Brown can both play TE and WR. We needed to improve in redzone offense and having brown and waller at WR, Gillmore and Watson at TE and West at RB, defense wont know whether to cover the run or play action. #KeepEM
