[News] Ravens Preseason Stock Watch vs. Carolina Panthers

I don't get why everyone is so high on Buck Allen's performance. His only good play seems to be overemphasised, the blocking was what made this play happen. Meanwhile the fact that he averaged 1(!!!) yard per play on the ground against 2nd and 3rd tier defense is overlooked.

In my book, if you are RB and can catch&run as hell but can't rush for crap, then you are one trick pony who is useless because every defense will know what's coming. So I see no reason to be over the moon about Allen's game. 3 more chances left to prove himself and he must to better to be worthy of a roster spot, I just hope it isn't a spohmore slump year for Buck.

i am with you here boss. If a player doesn't have great production in his first preseason game, you can pretty much count on the fact that he's going to have a terrible season.

Glad you got what I was saying chief! Accordingly, if you get one TD catch&run against 3rd tier defense you should pretty much be considered the greatest thing since sliced bread. At least that seems to be the way some folks are reacting.

I'm guess I'm just surprised that some people have their heads so far up their butts, there was nothing so great about Allen's performance in first game, stop writing about it. Let the kid keep grinding and come back with strong game next week, then preach about it.

Stick to your day job bro and stop being foolish. I think your putting a little too much stock into a couple carries- esp considering our entire starting o- line wasn't even out there. Yanda was a healthy scratch. Don't you think he may have had a few more holes opened had he been playing?  The kid still scored a nice TD, cut him a little slack. Weve got a very good situation at running back right now. If you think there's even a slight chance he's in jeopoardy of losing a roster spot your sadly mistaken. He's locked in my friend.

Alright, you're probably right. Didn't mean to indicate that Allen was in danger of losing his job, just didn't understand why some people got so excited about his play. It was okay but nothing amazing. But I'll chill on the topic.

Also, I tend to answer to sarcasm with sarcasm so you can read my response over for one more time and maybe try to improve your sarcasm reading skills. :)

Lol I thought you might have been responding to the sarcasm with sarcasm but I wasn't sure. Apparently my sarcasm game is the one that needs some work. My sarcasm about your sarcasm of his sarcasm came back to bite me. This is getting deep lol Back to business

No Allen didn't do anything amazing in his limited carries  but in the end he made a play that put points on the board which is what counts. Yes he got some good blocks but he also showed good vision. All things considered we have 4 running backs with ALOT of promise.
