Most excited to see the young defensive players. Mainly Za'Darius, KC, Tavon Young, Judon/Ochi, etc.

It seems like every year we start with heck of injuries. Just once can we stay healthy gees. I mean cant even make it through training camp one day with out an injury update. What the hell is going on? I know its part of the game, but it seems like Baltimore is the home of the injury bug.

If Perriman doesn't hit the field this season I will be very disappointed. The guy will be a waste of an roster space if he doesn't get out there. Now Ronnie Stanley is a game time decision I was and still am looking forward to seeing if this kid is our Zach Martin, is he the next Marshall Yanda. like they say he is. I do not want us have another season like next last season. We played no better than the Cowgirls last season and that is not Baltimore Raven football.

I think at this time of the year a lot of this is precautionary but it is definetly extremely frustrating and I think it cost us a Super Bowl trip in 2014

I tend to agree that the Ravens team is generally more injury prone than most other NFL teams over the past few years. Now, its easy to blame the training staff led by Rogucki but we don't really know. This year they brought in an expert so we'll see. But, if I am being truthful, sometimes John's loyalty to his staff seems to be at any cost. That is the one thing that worries me. If you see a trend in any area of the team that is downward, it is the responsibility of the HC to replace them. I've found that John is very reluctant to do so unless there is extensive pressure on him (like in the case of Cameron). I'm not saying its a bad trait not to be loyal, but sometimes one's got to try new people to know how the old one really was.

I kinda disagree about the injury prone thing. Check out some of the other teams and you will see about the same. I guess last year probably made some fans think that this might be true. As far as Harbs is concerned I am sure if a change is warranted he will see to it. Let's just hope the injury bug goes away this season. Go Ravens.

Gillmore needs to suck it up and get some reps he's getting Campanaroitis

Sucking it up is not an option.  The trainers will not let him practice/play if his hamstring isn't 100%.

What a bad call. Preseason is a chance to prove you belong on the roster. Gillmore has already done that with his play on the field. He even played banged up for many games and didn't complain at all. This IS the time to let him get healthy because once the season starts no one is 100% healthy over the season. Gillmore also went through surgery and Campanaro to my knowledge has always dealt with pulls/strains, etc never surgery. Bad comparison and out of context.

I would also mostly agree. What you describe as loyalty is actually more of a "give everyone the opportunity to correct and learn from their mistakes". Yes it cannot go on for ever, but especially in professional sports too many times you see knee-jerk reactions that send players or coaches elsewhere only to see them regain their form shortly after.

Point is everyone can face adversity and setbacks, etc. If you never give anyone a chance to rise above those issues then how can you say you did everything you could to get the best out of them?

I would also hazard a guess the Harbs does have a lot of conversations behind closed doors in such situations. He does not strike me as the kind of person to drop bombs on people but rather be upfront and honest about where things stand. From there it is the individuals responsibility on what they will do going forward. It is not something that needs to be aired publicly.

I honestly think the rise is injuries have occurred from the collective bargain agreement to do away with two a days....Players just aren't as conditioned to the real game hits, because they have to be so causes during camp....I don't remember so many players over the past few years who have been injured and lost for the season early in the season, as i have over the last 5-6 years....When that kid knocked Brown on his butt he felt bad, but back in the day, that's what coaches want to see, the ones who can take the hits, and the ones who can give them....The N.F.L has gotten soft IMO....Just to old school smash mouth football, where you go all out during camp, so truly the best are ready for the real games....

It has just reached the point where the only thing it seems we hope for in a preseason game is that we come away without injuries. Any guy who already have a clear starting spot on the team may as well just sit and watch. Give them a few reps next week and a few more in preseason game 3 and call it good enough. The field tonight should contain virtually no one but young guys with no ailments who are still establishing themselves and guys fighting to make the team.

We're pretty much fully healthy on defense with the exception of Suggs and Doom, and Suggs is supposedly returning soon. But on offense guys just can't get it together. The 2 player im most worried about are Chris Moore and Campanaro. Everyday Perriman isn't practicing I feel more disappointed, and the more I feel he won't be ready week 1, which leaves Wallace as our only deep threat so we really need Moore back. And Campanaro just need to show he's worth a roster spot. I'm tire od him having 2 good practices in a row and then sitting out with a 'strain' or hamstring injury for 2 weeks. He needs to come back immediately

Don't forget we had 20 on IR the previous year too. That's how we justified the 8-8 year if memory serves me right.

Well you're right. I spoke of trends and not isolated events. For isolated events as a HC I think its only fair he gives everybody a chance to redeem themselves, but when you see a trend in certain areas that performance is constantly poor, then you can't always lean on injuries as a way out or any other such excuse. Frankly one can come up with plausible reasoning for every year there is a poor performance. But, in this 'you're only as good as your record says' league, trends have to be managed aggressively.

I'm thrilled Flacco isn't cut from the same cloth as these guys
