I think Tucker should do it! Publicity can't hurt. In fairness, he needs more than one try. But he should totally do it.

You mean attempt an 80+ yarder in a real game? Sorry, but ain't gonna happen, for various reasons.

Dunno how you guys feel about this - I like the idea of a lot of our starters resting a lot in the pre-season. We all know what they are capable of - but I would love to see our backups and their backups play as much as possible.

And then, when Week#1 comes, we'll see our starters.

BALTIMORE can boast some of the greats in sports. i really wish SSS. could pass his passion to PERRIMAN,can you imagine? MCMANUS or whatever his name is can't beleive 84 yards cause he could never do 50 yards, lol!

I like that Idea too. The only one I want to get on the field to see is maybe the O- line minus Yanda. They need to gel with likely two new starters on line.

I will agree that Tucker loves Tucker. But if I could sing opera in a bazillion languages, speak fluently in another million or so, have national exposure on my commercials, have the second best accuracy in NFL history and booted a 61 yarder in the heavy air of a dome, then I would love me too. And as much as people dislike kickers in the NFL, the harshest critic is a freaking long snapper. To honor Peyton, "what do you expect from an idiot long snapper who gets liquored up and runs his mouth." Take that Colquitt, nitwit.

1) Phelps is amazing and if you think about how many great athletes that made their home in Baltimore or were born here in Maryland the list is pretty impressive. Hall of famers in baseball, football, and basketball, and boxing.

2) Tim Te....nah, not going there.

3) Can't wait to hear about Steve Smith Sr. raining blood and guts all over some peanut butter sandwiches. First I want to see him go out on top and solidify his place in the HOF.

4) Tucker brings some personality that is sorely lacking in kickers. I don't believe you should celebrate everything you do, but if you hit a long 40 to 50+ yard game winning FG, by all means celebrate. Kickers take a lot of abuse if they aren't very good, so when you have a good one they deserve some love. I don't know if Tucker can make one from 80+, but I wouldn't bet against him.

5) T. West: It is awesome he has his heart in this and wants to play for the Ravens, I just don't see which roster spot he will take. Could the Ravens cut Forsett? Maybe, but I think he will be a very productive back for us. It isn't like Forsett is injury prone and this was an injury that could have been prevented by training harder or something. I don't think Ken Dixon can clear waivers to go to the PS, and I think Allen is in that same boat. Could the Ravens carry 5 backs (including Juice)?

Any coincidence that in The Usual Suspects the character named McManus was a guy that ran off at the mouth and had a potty mouth to boot?

I think that's usually what happens in pre season. Starters usually play a quarter, sometimes they only play an offensive series or a set number of snaps, then they're out. We've got a lot of questions about depth and we need to sort that all out so I am sure they're going to see a lot of snaps. I mean, we have to see who is going to win the Johnson vs Johnson battle at 3rd Qb, right?

I would not be so quick as to assume Mallett will be a lock for backup qb role. Yes they gave him a sizeable contract but at the end of the day he will still need to lay any doubts to rest andseparate from the group. Based on what I have read/heard the qb competition is much tighter than expected. Mallett when playing to his potential is a solid qb and closer to a Joe replacement than the Johnson's. Both Johnson's are more of the mold of a Tyrod Taylor who the Ravens were comfortable with as a backup. Either way I like seeing all position groups being pushed to become better. Who wants it the most?

Kickers are people too. If they achieve their goals and excellence on the field why should they not be able to celebrate their accomplishment the same as others. Guys will make a sack or a big stuff play and dance in the same manner when no points are put up. No difference. Yes Tucker is confident, and if that bothers you they ignore it. Tucker also celebrates with the wolfpack often and typically alsways gives credit to the unit because all their success is shared. IMHO Tucker said "I think" when recalling the 85 yarder most likely because he probably did a quick measure at the time. It's not like the officials are going to do a proper measurement for warmups. I do think he could hit the 84.5 yarder, but not in a game situation. Also as he said it would require perfect conditions, meaning there are a lot of variables to account for. McManus should just worry about his own kicking game. Tucker never made any slight against him or even the Broncos, he merely pointed out that the high altitude was a key factor to achieve such a long field goal.

Yeah, I know - but I wouldn't mind at all if they played even less than that. We all know for example what Flacco is capable of - and the camp reports say he's back to his normal form. On theother hand, Mallett's been criticized in camp report almost every day, pn vrious different forums, and Josh Johnson's been priased - I'd love to see them both on an extended number os snaps.

Sounds to me they are still upset about the Mile High Miracle. I think they should suck it up and get a life.

I'd agree with that too.  Broncos are like the Patriots...  Petty and Pissed.
