Preseason 1 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Carolina Panthers

Levine HAS to catch that. Emphasis on forcing more turnovers? Start by catching the ball. Can't we get a stop in the final 2 minutes?

Running game looks strong. Mallett recovered from the slow start and was almost perfect in the second quarter. Rookies stepping up big time.

You're gonna see the STAR position be used a lot more in the league this season, it makes too much sense and nowadays the averag safety is the same size as Mosely.

I wished Correa would have been playing more. He looks further than we thought on the depth chart. #50 is a good edge setter against the run but against the pass he provided no pass rush at all. Will play the Upshaw role. Orr has been a pleasant surprise. Now bring KC and Young please. Arrington is a sure cut for me. S. Price did some nice plays.... Wright is better against bigger/slower WR and have some problems vs speedy wide out and fast paced quick passing game offense. Against the Pats I'm pretty sure Wright will have some problems

By the way I know this is not related but I watched some Carson Wentz replays and I still don't believe the Browns didnt take him. My god he's going to be a GREAT one. A lot better than Goff IMO

Ronnie Stanley looked GREAT in the snaps he played. Really great.

Preseason so I am not paying attention to too many things during this game. 

Really worried of how bad the first team D looked. Cam marched them right down the field. Should of had a TD but had an errant throw.

I know we are missing guys and it's the first live action these guys have seen but Pees looks to be using the same strategy as last year. 

And honestly, I get it some of you will go it's preseason, calm down. All I will say is they looked exactly like this last preseason and that spilled over into the regular season of soft zones and getting beat.

true..im a lot more worried about the D than the O. Our lack of quality outside corners really is getting to me.

again - if you malign the 1s then you have to remember that they haven't game planned like they normally would and that they are missing their two starting edge rushers

Only real area of concern is STILL corner. Nobody besides Jimmy has been able to step up there for seemingly years now. I really wanted Ramsey but am still very happy with Stanley.

My thoughts at halftime: 

Stanley looks really good. Butler looks like he's carving out himself a roster spot on this team because he was probably the best WR I saw tonight, getting behind guys and running halfway decent routes and making catches. None of the other WRs really impressed me, and the only TE who impressed me was Williams. Waller looked OK but he had that really bad bounce off his gut that was intercepted, and he kinda caught the ball weird that first time he actually caught the ball--almost like it wasn't natural for him to catch with his hands. Daniel Brown didn't really do much except block so far. 

As for OL, I am not as impressed by Wesley. I thought he looked OK. He had rough spots and good spots. Sometimes he did well, and other times he just got humiliated. I saw him literally get lost on one occasion, and then I watched him be too slow to turn the corner and keep up with the pass rusher, causing a QB hurry and pressure. He's decently strong, and you can see why we like him because sometimes he is on and sometimes he isn't. I'm not sure he's as good as advertised, though. I need to watch more of this guy. I thought Mallett was very erratic early in the game, throwing the ball horribly and really not putting it where it needed to be. He overthrew quite a few guys or simply didn't throw to them correctly. That said. he got better and improved and that's great. I actually thought he got better when Stanley and the starting OL left, lol. I really liked what I saw from West and Dixon, and Allen looked good but mainly catching the ball as a Vereen type of RB. 

As for the defense, I like that we learned to tackle. That's splendid news and refreshing. We need to make more plays on the ball. Levine dropping that sucked bad, but he was in position to make the play and that's more than some [Arthur Brown] can say who simply didn't. Price actually plays the ball as a CB, and I like that; however, he was caught up in a very easy DPI call that may be questionable but too easily called due to how he lost leverage. Willie Henry looked pretty good out there, but we'll see how he continues to progress. I actually liked KLM when I saw him out there. I was disappointed in Davis, who didn't look as hot as I hoped he would. Judon looked OK with a decent jump on the ball, and Correa had a great jump on the ball when he played RUSH. McClellan looks really good as the Upshaw defender, and I liked what I saw from Orr and especially Mosley.

Speaking of Mosley, he looks much better than last year. Granted this is one game, but I really liked what I saw from him in this game. I think Weddle looked good but I'm not sure yet what to think. I didn't see enough of Webb to form an opinion. Za'Darius looks really good! I like how explosive he is, and he is using his arms to make plays, and that's awesome. Brooks looks better, and Elam is hard to say since I only see him clean up tackles, so I'll call him the Janitor for now. Carter looks really good, but he is going against 3rd string guys so there's that.

Weird seeing west return. I think Reynolds should've gotten his first real chance there
