[News] Terrance West Wants To Make Baltimore His Last Stop

17 posts in this topic

Terrance had to go the road he went so that when he got here, he would appreciate his opportunity to play in the NFL and also be able to play and be productive with the team he hoped would draft him. Had things been easy for him perhaps he would have gone the way of Josh Gordon or Johnny Manziel. Who knows? All I know is that I am glad he had the tough times he had so that he could come back home. Just like the prodigal son, regardless of his indiscretions, regardless of his productivity, he is home now, welcomed with open arms, and given every chance to succeed here.

if the o-line kicks butt than so will every single rb on the roster. the o-line must be in sync with each other.

He's hungry and finally motivated. Makes you wonder though if he will become complacent once and if he gets paid? Before we anoint him the second coming of Bo Jackson, let's actually see him do something on the field.

He just wanted to play for the Ravens. Browns drafted him so he had to act up so they'd get rid of him. His plan failed bc instead of cutting him, they traded him where again - he had no control of his fate.

So he played and practiced poorly so he would get cut. Then he did and finally got control over his future where he chose Baltimore over other destinations that offered better immediate opportunities.

And, now for the first time in the NFL he's really showing what he can do.

Or at least thats the story I'm going to tell.

I was really upset when we missed out on this guy in the 3rd round a few years back. We ended up with Tagliaferro and thought West was much better and we blew it. Fortunately, Cleveland in their wisdom turned him loose again. Great re-find and looks like he can do some damage.

After two years of bouncing around, he should by now get it. He won't get many more bounces before he is done so he had better get his act together. He is a talented guy, but the league is full of talented guys. Work habits are paramount. Hopefully his two NFL years have taught him something. Let us hope for the best.

It is funny how these things come around, I remember in the 2014 draft I had cj Mosley, Terence brooks, terrance west, Crockett and campanaro all coming to Baltimore albeit the rounds were a bit skewiff

Maybe there is something to be said for playing for your hometown team - I mean look at the problems with bosa and his contract and obviously there's a problem there with his love of San Diego and football etc.

its kind of fascinating how much love of the game is important in this ultra-professional environment now - so that a player (like west) can flourish and work harder because of his passion as a "fan?"

I remember watching him in his first game as a rookie cutting and slicing through steelers defenders like it was nothing. The guy has talent. Lets see if he puts in the rest of the work

Between Allen, West and Dixon I have a feeling one of them will make their way to "IR".   Basically saving them for next year.

Forsett better hope we win it all this year b/c he definitely will not be on the team next year.

I have faith in both West and Dixon being very successful RBs for the Ravens. This year, I predict we'll carry 5 RBs unless of course one of them has a phantom injury and goes to IR and I predict that may be Dixon.

5 running backs. I think there is zero % we carry 5 rb unless you're counting juice as one. In that case it would even be tough to carry west, forsett, dixon, and buck. I wouldn't mind it, but would it be a good idea with all the depth at other positions and need to have depth on the roster at other spots. If we carry 4 rbs, 5 with juice, I would think at least 2 of those 5 would have to play special teams. I think Dixon and West are by far our most talented rbs. I like forsett as well. I think Buck is a solid back up, but thats it. I know it's not likely, but I would love to see West, Forsett, and Dixon just all kick but as a rotating trio. I know rbs need their reps to get going and everything. But if that did work, it would keep them all so fresh too. RB situation will be interesting this year. I'm not relying on Forsett putting up 1200 yards, that's for sure

it's not something we consider but harbs and oz have always said we'll take the best 53 no matter what - so if these guys make the best 53 then they will be on the roster - forsett makes it as the veteran, mentor and best pass protector, dixon makes it as a promising rookie, buck allen makes it because of his ability out of the backfield, and west makes it as the form back playing like a house on fire and juice isn't getting cut because he's a swiss army knife and a great special teams player

i think we keep all 5 of those guys and we might see special teams and form dictate who the active backs are - i imagine each week 1 of them will be inactive

Yes I think Kyle is considered a part of the RB group. Don't count out Taliaferro quite yet. If he doesn't show up soon, he'll go on IR again or be released. In which case, I see Forsett, Allen, Dixon, West and Juice all making the 53 man roster.
