How do they know this when we haven't played one game yet?

Let alone a preseason game

they will ride with the hot hand until one of them shows consistency each week. we should go after jake long again and throw out the injury waiver. if stanley gets hurt than flacco is in trouble and we do not know how good stanley is yet.

that's crazy.....cost the team money just off of that? we have guys capable of sliding into the spot or making a trade.....no reason to throw money at a injury-prone player....that's not logical

The deal with Jake Long was Jake Long's decision... That guy has been "unhealthy" for a few years now. It's nuts not to protect the team with a clause. I have nothing against this team for doing what they did.

I wasn't aware that you make the probowl in training camp. Seriously, these types of articles need to end. They haven't played one game yet and we keep getting fed these, "So and so is about to break out, so and so will have a major impact, so and so is looking like they are going to be something special, so and so is making plays all over the field."

It is ridiculous. They aren't making plays. They are practicing. I'd be worried if I heard everybody was stinking up the joint, but hello, guys are supposed to do this in practice. Guys will make plays in practice because there is a lot of no-contact stuff. There are 7 on 7 drills. When is the last time you saw 7 vs 7 on a football field other than when you played pick up games in your back yard?

Plays in camp and practice mean nothing. Plays in the pre season won't mean much either. You won't really know much about anyone until they strap them up for real.

actually when there's full contact with pads it DOES mean something. These guys are fighting for a job. You think they are taking it easy?

RIGHT? Shows they have never played a NCAA sport. They need to see what these young men sacrifice. I can tell you parties are not the normal.

I love Forsett but I just dont see him making the team. He is a great guy and should get another chance to play but with Allen and Dixon guaranteed to make the 53 we only have room for one more RB and West is not only younger but also the cheaper option. Unfortunately living across the country I dont get to see them practice, so i can only go off what i read and even though Forsett has the leadership its West that has shown up to win the starting job.

If you guys think we keep 4 RBs what position do you think will take the hit? I have us taking 6 WRs and 4 TEs. I couldn't justify cutting one of them for Forsett..

Yes I do, because the head coach even came out and said they are trying to protect players and they aren't going all out on hits. That hit from Sam Brown on Dan Brown was an accident, not on purpose. PRACTICING against your own team is a whole lot different than playing a game against another team.

There isn't a whole lot of full pads, full practice right now. If you read my post you'd actually know I referred to that.

WRONG. I played a couple of sports at a fairly high level and I do kinda know what I am talking about. If you think practice is the same as real game time you are sadly mistaken. There are tons of guys that tear up camp that can't play on a football field.

Justin Forsett is going to have to collapse on the field and be out for the season to get bumped from this roster. He's got a proven track record of rushing for over 5 yards a carry numerous times. He was never given an opportunity to start until he came to the Ravens and he had a fantastic season for us. He was having another very good year last season despite playing behind a less than stellar line before he broke his arm. Terrence West does not have that same success to fall back on. He busted his butt to get in shape and he's practicing like his life depends on it because, well, his NFL life does depend on it. Blowing up practice is one thing. You have to blow it up on the field when the scores actually matter. Forsett isn't really breaking the bank for us either, so we wouldn't save a ton of money by cutting him.

I can see both sides of your debate. I don't see Forsett getting cut. However I do hope we keep West and Dixon is a no brainer, and Allen looks like a decent back up- I hope he can play special teams?? I'm from California so hard for me to see those things. I think Forsett could be very productive this year, especially if he splits time. The offense will be completely different this year. But if saving 3 Mil was the difference in locking up BWILL right now, I would certainly consider it. I doubt it would be though

I think our running game depends on Stanley. I have faith in Urshel or Lewis at LG cuz Guard is an easier position. But if Stanley is Legit, like our front office seems to think he is, I like any 3 or combination of Dixon, Forsett, and West this year. Our passing game will be very good if SSS is back which will open things up

Well be prepared to be wrong. Absolutely no way in hell forsett doesn't make the 53 unless he gets injured. We will keep 4 tight ends and 4 running backs- somewhere else will just have to take the hit. No way we go into the season with 3 unproven backs all of whom have never put up over 800 yards. Just not feasible. Who knows- crock might not be ready for week 1 so we may only carry 3 tight ends at first anyway. Alot of maneuvering will happen when people get healthy and come off of suspension etc.

First of all, people that are 20 years old and up are not kids.
Secondly, I never said it didn't matter to them and that they weren't trying hard to make a team. Sheesh, people read way too much into things.
Third, one of these things is not like the other: Practice. Game Day.
Lastly, if you think one on one drills, seven on seven drills, and playing against players that won't make an NFL roster is the same thing as running real plays against opponents is the same thing then there is nothing more to talk about.

Justin Forsett is the man! Any rotation of backs the Ravens already have will be just fine! The running game is never a problem, I just don't want the Ravens to fall in love with it and waste plays running when Joe should be slinging it down the field putting teams away "then" run it down their throats!

Forsett on the PS??!!.... I believe in West will be there. JS gave us hope in 014 but last year his injury stopped optimism for 016

Not sure what your suggesting but Forsett is not eligible for the ps anyway.
