Ravens Projected Win-Loss Record 2016

341 posts in this topic

Gonna try this again after seeing the 53. Subject to change as the roster changes throughout the next week.

Bills -W - distintive victory- defense comes out firing on all cylinders.
@ Browns - W- distinctive victory- nothing spectacular
Jaguars - W- won in the final 4 minutes.
Raiders - L - come up short on last second comeback bid.

Redskins - L - they come out and get lucky. Fluke turnover blows it.

Giants - W - they're not as good as I thought either. Offense starts clicking led by run game.

Jets - W - not pretty but we get it done.. They control time of possession and try to suffocate us but a few big plays keep us alive. Wallace burns revis to win it.

Steelers ( home ) - L- they jump on us early and a late run is not enough.

Browns ( home ) - W - Pryor gives us trouble but west punches in 3 TDs .
Cowboys - W -  kill them with the deep ball. Moore, perriman and Wallace all have big games.
Bengals -( home)  W- finally we get them off our back and put them away.

Dolphins - W - FINALLY a Distinctive victory. - mainly BC I will be there :)

Patriots - W- we catch all the breaks- Brady makes a late run but a weddle int. Seals the deal.
Eagles - L - turnovers and penalties do us in.

Steelers - W - tucker does it again as time ticks away

@  Bengals-  W- with the division wrapped up we rest our starters. We actually end up beating therm anyway.

12-4 Division champs

The Ravens offense cannot afford sluggish beginnings, particularly on the road.

Sleepwalking through two or sometimes three quarters offensively needs to be a thing of the past, or at worst an anomaly.

My sense is that we have the talent on that side of the ball to get up on people. If Flacco, Trestman, et al can avoid road duds I think ten wins is a nice base line prediction.

Well according to Nate Silver and 538 polls (very respected pollster) the expected win loss record for the Ravens is 7-9. More precisely they expect 7.4 wins and 8.6 losses for the ravens. I hate them.

538 is great, stats are flawed. We have a significant number of unknowns which inevitably skew analytics toward the negative.

And as any Ravens fan knows, predictions mean nothing.

Totally agree with you. As long as Peter King doesn't predict us winning anything, we actually win. He has that kind of power. He is the world's greatest jinx. You just don't want him loving a team because that team WILL TANK.  Last year he picked us to go to the SB and we had the worst season in recent memory!

Plus he didn't help out the Eagles much, picking them to win it all.

I looked at thepft website and couldn't find any reference to it. A link would really be helpful.

10-6, winning on the road is more difficult, plus the Raiders and a couple others here could be a problem for us. We shall see, injuries could hurt us again, hopefully not, but some are not spring chickens anymore

Put me down for a 11-5 record this season. Technically I'm only predicting they'll go 10-5 over the next 15 games... doesn't seem too bad.

Hopefully you are as good at this as you are at predicting the 53 man roster.

Bills -Won
@ Browns - Win. For a team with a lot of bad seasons under its belt I think this season will be one of their worst.
Jaguars - Win. After the close loss last season I don't see our guys letting it happen again.
Raiders - Win. For the same reason as the Jags
Redskins - Win. Cousins gets into an interception throwing mood.
Giants - Win. Our defense bends a lot in this game, but they don't break. Our offense puts up TD's while NY puts up FG's

Jets - Win. We are on a roll.

BYE
Steelers ( home ) - Win. Come back off of the bye refreshed and ready to chase a perfect record.

Browns ( home ) - Win. Browns put up a fight and we just barely win. Starting to loosen the reigns on a perfect season.
Cowboys - Win. another ugly win, but our defense shuts down Elliot leaving the ball in prescotts hands.
Bengals -( home)  Loss. Leave it to the bengals to ruin our perfect season at home in devastating fashion.

Dolphins - Win. Ugly win to get back in the win column.

Patriots - Loss. It looked like we were going to edge out another close victory, but Tom Brady rallies at the end of the game.
Eagles - Win. The rookie QB just isn't a match for the Sizzle/Doom combo.
@ Steelers - Loss. Steelers get pay back at home to rally at the end of their season to clinch a wild card.

@  Bengals-  Loss. Bengals sweep us. One of the downsides to a good season.

12-4 and Playoff Joe decides to show up after a poor second half of the season to take us to the superbowl.

A 12 and 4 record? Wow these are some of the same people who predicted we would go to the Super Bowl last year. Here in realityville the Ravens are a mediocre team at best. My prediction is much closer to what it looks like in the real world. Let's get with it people - don't let the super easy early schedule fool you we are on the outside looking in. 6-10 this year is the best we got. Lets enjoy a Browns victory because it goes downhill from here.

In his world, which is not the real world, the Patriots just let Josh McDaniels leave during the season to go be the HC of a division rival.

Certainly not happening in the world I live in...

Yea well predicting a SB pre-season last year, and predicting a 12-4 record this year actually makes sense, considering this year we have a roster much closer to what we thought we had going into last year, but that was decimated by injuries.

You're 0-1 on your predictions while most of us are 1-0. Your read on the Bills was WAY off. Your description of our game against the Bills was more than just a wrong win/loss prediction; it wasnt EVEN CLOSE to reality.

I'll go with my gut and many of the posters here whose projections pretty accurately came true with what we saw in the week 1 performance, over the guy who hasnt so much as been right about a single detail yet. You were only close on your prediction last year bc of injuries. If we were healthy you wouldve been dead wrong then too.

And this year will prove that. This will be fun to check back to each week.

And when we have a higher win total than you predicted for the season by week 9 its going to be hilarious.

When we're 6-1 you'll still be holding on, spouting BS, and predicting an 0-9 run. But, when we get to the 7 win mark, you'll mysteriously disappear until next offseason....
