Ravens Projected Win-Loss Record 2016

^^^ We don't beat Cinci in any of your scenarios?! I can see the reasoning. I think we split. The last time the Bengals beat us by two scores, 2013. The four after were 8 points or less. Ravens aren't getting walloped, the Bengals just somehow find a way to win. I think we'll find a way this year.

Only because of the question marks in our secondary, but mainly how they'll match up against Cinci's WRs (AJ Green specifically). And you won't find a team Flacco throws more picks to than the Cats. That's statistically proven. We unnecessarily gave up in the final match up in 2013, 2014's sweeping was a fluke from a boogus P. I. call on what would've been the game winning touchdown. I thought we could've at least beat them at home last year. So, until I'm proven wrong, I see no scenario where we're able to beat them, except the playoffs.

I hate everything about these threads lol.  I think last year I said 10 - 6?  Never guessing again.

I don't blame anyone for that. We were so close to winning another SB. How can you not predict a record like that If not better?

I'll guess 10-11 wins, if everything goes right.  I actually have the Giants game as a loss, but I'm going to the game and hoping for the best.

All bias aside, this team could easily end up with a top draft pick if they don't perform at a high level.  This isn't an easy schedule and most of these teams can expose our secondary, if they don't tighten up.

WIN BUF
WIN CLE
WIN JAX
LOSS OAK
WIN WAS
WIN NYG
LOSS NYJ
WIN PIT
WIN CLE
WIN DAL
LOSS CIN
WIN MIA
LOSS NE
WIN PHI
LOSS PIT
WIN CIN

I'm seeing so many people calling Jax a W and the raiders a L. How so? Jacksonville has a far superior roster and matches up to beat us maybe better than any team in the league. Oakland is riding a massive hype train because they're the raiders, but Jacksonville is downright scary when you look at their whole team

I think Raiders defense will be tough.  That pass rush will case us trouble and they are better across the board, to me, on that side.  Their OL will be difficult, too.  I'd say Raiders are the tougher out now, but Jax isn't for behind.

The jaguars may have a better roster on paper but the raiders are a far superior team and much more polished. This could be a breakout year for them. The jags are young and have a lot of talent but are still a year or two away.

Completely agree.  That's why I said Raiders are tougher, now.  Jax will be a problem in a few years.  Both could be running their divisions, Raiders starting this year and the Jags with some time.  Just hope the Raiders keep building on they established last year.

Meh I've been posting predictions for the past dozen + years and been right within a game or 2 every year on different boards, even our down years, up until last year, and getting the final record either dead on or within a game.  Which really isn't hard if you follow the Ravens. Last year honestly made me not want to do one this year, lol.

Anyways guess here goes nothing. I think we win our home opener, per usual and than beat Cleve, cmon RG3 is a joke. After that, well we drop both to Jax and the Raiders. We'll be too cocky at 2-0 and think young team and we'll get over confident, Jax has prob the best roster in the NFL with few question marks. The Raiders have setup a great team this year also.

Than we'll win from the Skins to the Cowboys. And run through the NFC East, as we did last time we played that division as every team has gotten worse. With getting the Steelers after a bye and Cleve again, not much competition in that middle part of the schedule.

After that it gets interesting again. We drop to Cinnci, and will prob get clobbered by NE in prime time as we just never play well away from the Vault on prime time and finish up beating the Steelers to secure some sort of playoff spot while losing the final game to  Cinnci.

11-5. The swing game for 10-6 would be the Jets. However I somehow doubt Fitzpatrick even with all those weapons can beat us. BUT this is Pees defense so something silly could happen.

I wouldn't consider going 2-2 "running through" the NFC East, but I hope you're right.

We played well against the better teams and played poorly against the bad teams. Last year watching the team it was like they played to their opponent. Kept it close then at the end just let leads go. I mean 14th in total offense last season I think is the best the Ravens have been for quite a few years now I believe. That is with all the injuries. The defense slowly looked better but always let the win slip right out at the end and then the offense would move the ball a bit and then turn it over.

I mean how long were we ahead of the super bowl winning Broncos until the pick six that put them back in the lead... And the Ravens in the end almost scored. Sure there were a couple blowouts against the Chiefs and Seahawks at the very end of the schedule but the rest of the losses were by one score or less. If the referees at the Cardinals game did their job and didn't have two early mistake calls the Ravens could have been in a better position to win that game that they eventually only lost by 8 at the very end with a chance.

Consistency is what the team needs. Chances are if you are down with 2 minutes left you will lose more likely than you will win. But the offense needs to get more of those big plays and the defense needs to limit those big plays. I really think the Ravens are close to being a very good team again they just need to use their personnel correctly and teach the defensive backs not to give up those plays. This is why I think losing Ed Reed hurt us more than we ever would have imagined. But this is also why I am very excited for the Weddle and Powers signings. I think Weddle will look fantastic in the defense.

It is so hard to predict this team's record. In my mind, the range of possibilities are great. The ceiling seems to me to be a playoff team with some aspiration of competing for a title with the floor being a season that is not quite as tragic as last season, but still bottom 1/2 of the league. IMO, the biggest questions lie on the defense.

That unit put us behind the 8 ball last year with horrific performances against OAK and then, perhaps the worst Ravens game in memory was allowing an anemic CLE offense to post up a historic day against us ... IN OUR OWN HOUSE! The defense did better to close out season, but they were far from inspirational. So - have they improved sufficiently to allow us to be a contender? Suggs needs to be an impact player and be the one that grabs the team by the throat and says, we're not embarrassing ourselves like that again. Jimmy needs to show he's a true CB #1 the business with his foot is no longer an excuse. Weddle needs to be the glue that brings this secondary together.

If they can do that ... then we no longer have any excuses for playing this scared brand of defense we've been watching for the past couple years. We need to have confidence in our personnel and let them be aggressive. That is what "Playing like a Raven" is supposed to mean.

If we can do that, we're going to be a contender. If we cannot, I'm afraid we'll be in for another disappointing season.

So ... for the prediction - I'm going to be the eternal optimist that I am and say 10-6.

I say 10-6 or 11-5 go 4-2 vs division. 3-1 vs AFC East 2-2 vs NFC East lose to Redskins which means we win the Super Bowl be use that's how we roll, split games vs Jacksonville and Oakland. GIves us 10-6 and hopefully we go 3-1 vs NFC East. It will be interesting to see how things play out but we need to beat Cincy in a game this year period. We know what Pitt brings to the table I would love anther sweep but see a split as usual. If we don't sweep Clev than there are going to be problems. Buffalo has issues Miami I don't think will be that good the Jets will be interesting I think we win but could be a tough matchup. I hope we beat NE but don't know. NFC East Phily sucks we should beat them Giants spent a lot in FA don't know what they will look like cover Beckham and we should be good. Dallas on paper look like a beast Zeke smashing Kam last night was impressive I hope our run D is its usual strong self and hopefully we continue our dominance of Dallas. The Redskins don't impress me but if we continue our pattern we lose to the Skins win the Super Bowl. Jacksonville and Oakland both look impressive and will be tough games.

Just wanted to drop in and get some hype going for week 1. I like to look at other teams' boards to see what they think. If it was up to the boards, the Bills would be 0-16 every year.

Some debunking to what has been said here already. Injury problems, yes, but mostly to backups. Only 2 starters missing going into week 1. Our O-line is bad: if having the #1 rushing offense and #1 avg time in pocket before pass, I'm not sure how that translates to our line being bad??? Offense not good: we were 9th in points per game last year, really not much else to say. If top 10 isn't good, then what is?

Most of our defensive problems last year were scheme related. We tried blending two schemes (Schwartz' 2014 defense and some of Rex's 4-6 set) and it was a roller coaster season where we dominated some teams and got steam rolled by others. The 4-3 part of our playbook has been run thru the shredders and from pre-season and training camp, it seems as if our D unit is playing more cohesively. I will remind you guys we are 2 years removed from leading the league in sacks with essentially the same group.

Now who do I think is going to win? I'm not here to tell you that, but take into account some of the things I said.

Welcome to the boards.  I have a few friends up in Buffalo.  I really love it up there.  Bills fans I have met have all be fantastic, as has pretty much everyone in Buffalo.  My buddy is bringing a bunch of friends down from Buffalo for the game.  We all will be sitting together.  Should be a blast either way.
Don't be a stranger.
Other team fans are welcome here.

If you will remember, the game in Pittsburgh was an absolute gift. Our record this year will be about 9-7 as things stand right now. The best case scenario would be 11-5 and the worst case scenario would be 7-9 as I see it. There are a lot of unanswered questions about injury rehabs and the health of some of the key starters, including Perriman, Smith, Flacco, Gilmore, Suggs, Pitta and Dummerville just to name a few and some new untested faces on the O-line. We should be able to go 3-3 in our division, 2-2 against the NFL Least Division and 3-1 versus the AFC East teams. That means we will split the two games against the Jags and the Raiders. I think we spoil KO's return to Baltimore with a win over the Raiders and we get upset by an upstart team of Jags in Jacksonville. We do not usually play well against teams who have former Ravens coaches on their sidelines. Then there is the NFL parity thing. Yeah, 9-7 sounds about right but, to get there, we will have to have an 8-4 record going into the final three games. Like, who ever heard of games on Christmas Day and New Years Day. That's truly absurd scheduling by the NFL.

Buffalo - win - get it done at home
@Cleveland - win - Flacco throwing bombs, high scoring game, defense make a few timely stops
@Jacksonville - win - Grind out W over young jags, with a couple of timely plays - not much seperates the sides
Oakland - win - high scoring shootout
Washington - win - slow start, do enough to get the w
@NYG - win - go into NY and torch the giants
@NYJ - loss - tough low scoring game - lose a close one

Pittsburgh - win - shoot out, but we come away with it
Cleveland - win - blow cleveland out the water
@Dallas - win - they gash us on the ground, we hit them through the air, make a few timely stops and keep dez quiet
Cincy - loss - cant get it going on offense, lose a close one
Miami - win - ugly but we get the w
@*New England - loss -  brady gets a bovine skat penalty called for something and we lose a close onebut we get home to brady and lay some good hits
Philly - win - come out bit slow after the big game against NE, get it done late

@Pittsburgh - ??
@Cincy - ??

Toss ups the last couple, honestly think we could win our first 6 games - should set us up well for the season - Lets go Ravens!!

If we win the first two games and then get back a healthy Dixon teams are going to really fear us. We are back in the underdog role and if our defense returns to the hardcore gritty style like the ravens of old then the sky is the limit for us. If we stay even relatively healthy I dont think a 12 win season is farfetched at all. We have much better depth than last year and contingency plans in place if things go sideways. Id give us an 8 win floor with a 13 win ceiling.

Just like our roster prediction, this year's W/L predictions are extremely hard. We could end up with a losing record or we could end up with 12 wins or anything in between. So there's my predictions range: 5-11 - 12-4.

gonna revise after seeing us in preseason

Buffalo - win, rex schemes the left side of our line but stanley and whoever is at LG stands strong and gives flacco time to pick them apart, tyrods running is contained and his arm isnt enough to beat us alone.

@Cleveland - win, i dont see a scenario where they beat us

@Jacksonville - loss, still giving us a loss here because i think their wr corps is just too much to handle, and i dont think were gonna run the ball on them very well

Oakland - win, i dont think theyre a complete enough team yet, they arent dominant enough in any one area either, they have strong key pieces everywhere, but the supporting cast to those key pieces is weak. i dont think amari is gonna go to work on a healthy jimmy

Washington - loss, trap game, i think kirk is the real deal and we could be in for a long game with desean jackson and jordan reed, it will be close at the end but big plays will kill us.

@NYG - win, changed my mind here, i dont think the giants are quite what i thought they were

@NYJ - win, we remember what happened last time jimmy faced brandon marshall, i think he is wiped from the stat sheet, they will fail to run the ball, their defensive front will give us trouble but i actually think we will move the ball well through the air

Pittsburgh - win, i think we go into this game on a hot streak and start to really build momentum with a close win, a big drive or a big game sealing defensive play at the very end will decide yet another one of these games.

Cleveland - win, ez

@Dallas - win, they wont move the ball on us, they wont stop our offense, i think this is a blowout

Cincy - loss, i just cant pick us to beat them

Miami - win, i dont see much from miami, not expecting much of a fight here, if we dont have a deep ball or a run game to worry about then i dont think our defense is gonna be sweating anything

@New England - loss, i dont think were ready for late season brady, our defense has some growing to do first, although an experienced and high iq safety tandem of webb and weddle could really be a boost here, but you need unquestionably elite corners and fast striking pass rush to beat the pats and we just dont have it.

Philly - win, this will be a slugfest in the trenches, lots of qb hits, very little running, the run game is abandoned by halftime for both teams, but the ravens pull a few long dink and dunk drives in the early 4th quarter and front seven gets gassed and suddenly the run game comes alive and we grind down the clock and nail the coffin shut with a play action pass from midfield.

@Pittsburgh - win, i think we have their number, not just because we swept them, but because we beat them even with our worst teams, and they havent improved much if at all, and their biggest weakness still looks like our biggest advantage(and of course they could say the same about us regarding wr vs cb's) but i think our pass rush and run game will be superior which will be the difference here

@Cincy - loss, this game will be for the division crown, pitt will be 1 game out of it and playing for a wild card, we will be playing cinci for the 3rd seed while the pats have the first and one of the AFCW teams hold the 2nd. winner takes the division and loser takes wild card, and we end up in the wild card.

playoffs:

1. patriots

2. chiefs

3. bengals

4. jags

5. broncos(after beating the raiders week 17 to sneak in)

6. ravens

WC: we FINALLY beat the bengals, and actually do it pretty easily, kinda like how we beat the patriots in the AFCCG

broncos beat the jags because they just match up too well

DR: the youngsters got a taste of what brady and the hoodie do, they wont be surprised anymore, we play them very tough, but we manage to lose because we cant get off the field on 3rd down.

chiefs beat the broncos

championship: patriots beat the chiefs.
