[News] Eisenberg: Keeping Brandon Williams Should Be Ravens' Top Priority

40 posts in this topic

If if they want to continue to grow a good defense they gonna have to keep
Brandon Williams. If they let him go it would effect the defense big time. Wish they should've kept Pernell McPhee as well because he was another piece we should've kept he was a good younger Passrusher. If Brandon is having a great year during the season, l would advise Ozzie to sign him during the middle of the season before he hits Free Agency if they can. Get him signed as quickly as possible before it's too late.

I never blame a guy for cashing in. I used to call guys overpaid or greedy, but my business partner and mentor is a former 2nd round pick of the Broncos and he helped change my thinking about it. Now I say these guys are worth whatever a team is willing to pay them. With what these guys put there bodies and families through they should get every penny they can.

But the flip side is when a team that you are comfortable with, a city that your family enjoys and a organization that's known for winning might be offering you 1Mil less per year than a team who isn't really known for winning, what's more important? Money or Fit? That's all I meant with Torrey and K.O. I don't fault either guy for leaving and despite the fact it takes away from the overall talent of the team, i like to see guys cash in other places. I just wish we start winning some more rings with these guys before they leave.

Great post.

Here's where Eisenberg is wrong. Haloti Ngata brought leadership to this team, both on the field and in the locker room. Haloti Ngata was hardly ever knocked on his butt and always demanded 2 offensive lineman to block him.

Talk is cheap tho, we'll see what Brandon Williams is as good as the pundits and experts say he is..

Yeah, undervaluing Ngata is not the way to go into deliberating Brandon.

To B. Williams credit he started every game last year.  He is a big man in a little package, but he is not near Ngata.

The problem is, he has absolutely no reason to sign before he hits the market and I doubt any of us would either.  Bwill and his agent knows he will be a top FA and there is plenty of teams that can pay him top dollar.

Don't the Ravens have a history if letter by guys use the market to determine their value anyway?

While that may be true, bottom line is that numbers matter and if he puts up another season like last year, that won't look all that impressive.

Believe it or not but agents and teams use profootballfocus to grade a players monetary value, the last I heard Brandon was graded number 1 against the run and provides more disruption in the passing game than Harrison. His agent will argue that too.

Yea on certain players, we let Ray Lewis do that.  Just saying, by him doing that I think it will price him out of our range

Thank you for writing this article. The ravens will not be the ravens without BWILL and people will run all over us without him. Plus what other 340 lb NT have quick feet and get QB pressure as well as being a top 3 run stuffer in the game. We CANNOT lose BWILL

This is spot on, don't want another KO situation next year. Hopefully the work is being done now to prevent that. GO RAVENS! 25

I concur. What are we waiting for? The price to go skyrocketing? Get r done!

They're waiting to see if he is the real deal or not. And to be frank, I'm waiting to see too

WHAT?!?!? LMAO. sorry. please explain. I think he is the best NT in the league. Best run stuffer and gets QB pressure at 340 with quick feet and absurd strength. In terms of losing any of our Defensive players to free agency in the 5 years, I think losing him would really sting the most
