I sure hope it's not "here we go again" from now on.

It was evident from the outset that there would be injuries in camp - the hope was/is that it's not proven starters... So far we're lucky - but we're not one week into camp yet... And maybe Harbaugh is more cautious too - see Campanaro already getting two veteran off days, something "real" vested veterans with proven track records normally get - the likes of Ngata, Yanda, Suggs, Canty, Steve Smith etc...

He was one of the least impressive guys at camp and was getting outplayed by udfa victor ochi but nonetheless he had a ton of potential. He was just extremely raw and this will set back his development. Don't wanna see anybody getting injured but I must say I'm relieved it wasn't KC

Really? No doctor, but bone breaks heal way way quicker than tendon or ligament tears, I am surprised they're counting him out for the whole year.

You honestly think somebody can break their ankle and be back playing within a few months?

Hope the young man heals and will come back as a healthy Player for next year.
You hate the injuries, but they are a part of the games, practices and workouts.
Tough when it happens to be a teammate that falls on to your leg awkwardly

Sure, depending on the severity of the break of course. Bone has lots of blood vessels which speed up healing where as ligament/tendon damage does not, hence why it takes so long to recover.

I know what you mean, it sucks when anybody on the team gets injured, but it does bring some relief when it's not a starter, or a star player, or an impressive player who projects to start like Correa.

You are correct in a sense, but broken bones can vary in how they actually broke. A clean break is the best case you can hope for in all situations, or next best is a compound fracture which is multiple clean breaks, then there is the fragmented fractures where the bone has broken in many small pieces kinda like glass shattering. I know about this topic since my brother broke his leg when he was younger and the doctor was knowledgeable and shared the info.

All that being said, depending on the type of break he sustained and add in the fact the location is the ankle and requires a lot of functional strength to hold up to the rigors of NFL life, a season gone is not so far fetched. The other half is that he will most likely be healed before the seasons end but then you gotten figure time in to re-strengthen the muscle since he won't be using them for several months. That really does not leave much room for getting back for some game time.

The smart approach is to say do not rush back and potentially risk re-injury, as they have so far indicated. There is no pressing need for him to be rushing back either as two others who dealt with similar issues will now be in the running for those reps, Urban and Lewis-Moore who have show play making ability, plus they still have Guy who has been a very solid and dependable player.

Unfortunate to hear, I was looking forward to seeing Kaufusi play. Urban and Lewis-Moore get a reminder of what they have dealt with early in the careers and provides a little extra motivation to step things up and challenge for a starting position. Given the current depth this may well be a blessing in disguise, especially when they get down to the numbers game.

Well, you knew it was going to happen to somebody. I feel bad that it's a rookie who will have that much more to make up next year, and I hope he recovers in full. Luckily, Guy has shown some flashes of being a good player and has some starting experience under his belt. Hopefully the injury bug is done biting Urban. And this may be good news for Lewis-Moore, who quite possibly was the odd man out of this group. All injuries are bad, but Kaufusi is at least replaceable and should not have that big an effect on the team.

Aww Sarah, you had to jinx it. Yesterday's LFW article you said everyone but us in the AFC North has had a bad injury. Now Kaufusi is out for the season. :(

You're right, hopefully it is a clean break. Would be great if he could at least get some reps in this year.

This will give him time to know the playbook inside and out plus get some tutoring from some of the vets during the season so he can hit the ground running next year. Not great news of course but sustainable this year.
No more serious injuries, I feel we've met our quota :-)

Bronson K is on the S list. We seem to have rookies ending their season before it begins. Instead of signing WR's, the DE situation will probably be in the forecast.

Wish our quota was 0.
