[News] Dennis Pitta Sprains Finger, Reacts To Practice Scuffle

25 posts in this topic

Saw the play at the Stadium tonight, Joe kept his cool nut let KO know that he should not cross a line. Good leadership by Joe. KO respected it and that was the end. Pitta and KO were locked up, it just gets that way. Both are very physical players. Good to see Pitta out there willing to put it on the line.

Obviously nobody wants to see injuries or fights. Especially pre-season. Hope Dennis is all good. Nice to see K.O. not backing down though. Really think this is a special draft class. It better be considering how we drafted the past few years

Whats crazy is I was sitting right there in the stadium watching when it unraveled, and immediately had a bad feeling about it. I didn't see exactly what happened during the play but right when the whistle blew I saw Pitta lunging at Correa in some sort of retaliation move. I immediately hollered "Don't fight Pitta!!" Lol. I really couldn't believe that any player for us would get into a scuffle with Pitta after his journey. But, it did look like Pitta initiated it. It looked like Pitta lunged at Correa and Correa simply wasn't having it. It really sucks for me to get home, read this and find out that Pitta actually did get hurt smh. By the way Correa looks like a future stud.

That's the thing isn't it though, if Pitta did initiate it then he should have expect a response from Correa. I haven't seen what happened but it's pretty stupid for Pitta to get into a scuffle after only just coming back from a lengthy absence. You can't expect people to back down just because Pitta has been injured for a couple of years. Joe might want to have a word with Pitta about it too.

It's great to hear positive things about Correa.

I knew the Ravens knew what they were doing when they surprised everyone by drafted Correa in the 2nd round. Ever since draft day I was excited to hear how well he would improve. I honestly didn't think he would start out this strong. The guy is going to be a monster next to Mosley. In a year or two we may have the best inside linebackers in the league.

I want Correa. We need that attitude that once was an Ed and Ray attribute. KC doesn't wear #51 for no reason at all. D Smith and D Butkus can be proud

Correa seems to me like he is a Ravens defensive player. Leave him be as long as his intentions are good and about football. I love that Joe sprang to the defense of his buddy Pitta.

I want to see attitude. The old D shoved the O guys around.
If we get to 10-6, as NFL channel predicts, then D is the KEY. SSS is the attitude maker on O

Little injuries happen like this in camp everyday. Its just slow news season and only bc its pitta everybody acts like he should be in bubble wrap. If it was the regular season he'd tape that thing up and be out there. Non story here. Seems like  everybodys just waiting for the oppurtunity to say I told you so if pitta gets injured again. He's a grown man and isn't even thinkin about that hip, and so far he's picked up right where he left off and has a damn good chance to be the starter. His chemistry with Flacco is something that can't be taught.

Awesome to hear about Joe running out to protect his receiver. He really seems to mature every single year and become even more of a leader. This could be the year he breaks out and finally gets the respect he deserves. We've actually got him a few weapons for once, esp if perriman gets his tail on the field.

I agree injuries have been overblown recently since the last two seasons have been decimated by injuries.. Flacco to Pitta is something we need next season.

Absolutely. I miss that combo. I remember right before pitta went down the last time pitta had like 16 catches in the first 2 games or something. They were just hooking up left and right and exactly on the same page. Would be awesome to see that again.

Pitta was probably the most consistent player on our offense that super bowl year, even more consistent than Boldin. He may not light up and carry an entire team on our back but he is a solid 50 yards a game with a couple first downs which is what we need to move the chains.

People need to realize that if they really thought Correa and Onwuasor were out to injure players the coaching staff would not have them play. Especially with Correa because he is playing with our starters.

Wallace seems to light it up then disappear. Apparently he had "multiple touchdowns" the day before. Seems to be the story of all of our receivers. They play well then never seem to be seen again the following week.

You know what name I haven't seen mentioned? Onwuasor. So far the only thing I have been hearing him mentioned in are stories about late hits and camp fights. That's certainly one way to make a name for yourself, but I'd rather it be for him putting up some numbers or turning in some great performances.

That all being said, 8 days until these teams actually start playing something that actually resembles an NFL game. That's when we'll start seeing something more tangible.

I do indeed. Jeez, I've been writing KO for KC on every post...just used to it I guess. Hopefully he can bring some of that nasty that KO provided for us

If the line is event decent, I think our Offense can be better than it's been in years. We need SSS though. Pitta and Perriman would be huge bonuses if healthy. But I agree, D is the Key. I think that hinges on the health of one player- Jimmy. If Jimmy gets back to form, I think we will be a top 5 D easy. I don't know if he can, but I sure hope he does. We need Jimmy
