One thing you didn't hear was Timmy Jernigan get reprimanded for that personal foul, late hit. Harbaugh, who usually makes an example of that, didn't say a word about it.

The team wants more dogs that'll go out there and bust a player in the mouth.

Pretty sure Timmy sat a good chunk of that game and the next one, not positive though. His foul did cost us.

That game was going to be lost anyway.

The penalty was dumb, but the attitude is what the Ravens seem to want.

Yeah, he just lost his starting job on the D-Line because of it. That is how Harbaugh teaches lessons.

If you go back four and five years, he had over 2400 yards and 18 touchdowns. In his time with the Dolphins, he never had less than 800 yards and averaged eight touchdowns a season.... all with limp noodle Ryan Tannehill.

Did you watch him in Miami at all?

I mean, really, the only year that "proves" that is last year when he played with literally the worst deep ball passer in the league in an offense that relies on the deep ball.

You can't pretend the Miami and Minnesota days didn't happen, that was then, and this is now with an older and self-admittedly slower Mike Wallace. We'll see which one he is when the games actually count.

It was week 15 with two weeks to go. I can promise he didn't lose his starting job.

Timmy started 8 games last season and he had more than one personal foul penalty that year. I think one was a late hit, and the other was either a late hit or unnecessary roughness. This article actually claims he had several. So when you are a starter, then you go on the bench, that is called losing your starting job.

It is his job to lose this season because of his talent and what is playing behind him now. He's at the top of the depth chart. I hope we get to see what all the noise is about. We've seen glimpses and if we can start getting a rush from the interior, that's only going to make life easier for the outside rush and the secondary.

He lost his starting job early in the season due to conditioning, effort, and work ethic concerns

And penalties. They certainly didn't help his case.

He certainly started the last two games. Most of his missed starts were at the beginning of the year, especially after Pees called out the defenses effort.

The article you quoted actually said as much and it said several penalties, but didn't clarify how many or when they were, so...

I am officially declaring I'm hyped up to see Tavon Young in action. I think he'll turn out our second best draft pick from '16 class.

That's a bold claim with the likes of Chris Moore (apparently doing really well based on expectations) and Kenneth Dixon in there as well.

It's bold but can't help the hype.

Yes, thinking long term. Although with our recent DB health history, nothing is set in stone unfortunately.

I didn't watch any Temple, but I do like how he was really well liked on these boards and not some random player people came onto.

I don't think he'll be better than Dixon long term, but he has me excited with his tenacity

I heard the talk about Dixon being maybe the 2nd best if not the best RB of the draft class and I watched a few videos of him after hearing that. However after watching him in the stadium practice, I am so excited to see his guy carry the ball and work in space. He's gonna make some jaw dropping runs this preseason and I think he'll start his own OROY hype train.

He's had a rough go of it early in camp but seemed to have two strong practices headed into preseason game #1. Because of the way some have already written him off, i'm very interested in seeing how Reynolds responds to game action. I think he's another guy who will make big plays this preseason and create some buzz around Ravenstown. I think he'll have his fair share of struggle, but people are gonna see the big play potential the Ravens saw in this guy during the preseason.

I think Butler is gonna be the guy who really steps up and takes Harbs play makers challenge. Because of injury, he'll basically be the only WR who has a legit shot of not only making the team but being apart of the offensive game plan each week once Wallace and Aiken leave the game Thursday. Trestman will work Butler at all 3 positions and really give him plenty of opportunity to catapult himself up the depth chart to 5th or maybe even 4th based upon injury. I think Butler really answers the call and really shines this preseason.

Butler looked really good on Saturday night.  He's so physical and knows how to high point the ball.  It's still a tough number's game, but these injuries have seemingly really opened up his chances.

I'm gonna take this as a no.

I saw the same thing the Miami Dolphins organization saw when they decided they didn't feel like paying him what he clearly wasn't worth to them and let him walk. If he was doing as well as you say he was, why did they let him go? By the way, you really shouldn't assume things. If you want to be hyped up on Mike Wallace, all for it. I think there is reason for some concern and if you don't agree with me that is perfectly fine. Doesn't mean I'm right, doesn't mean I am wrong. We just disagree.

From memory, he looked very good in last year's camp, too. Sorry to say but I'd be all for giving him a chance ahead of Camp.

Guys that are on the field get the chances to display what they can do and only make cases stronger for themselves if they shine. If Harbaugh is true to his word; and I have no reason to doubt him on this, he's looking for guys who can get it done on the field, not guys that have potential. Butler has been a team favorite for quite some time and he should take every advantage of the situation because he will actually be out there on the field. The coaches then have to sit back and go, "Hmmm...I really like what I think player X can do, wish we could get him on the field. But..here's this guy Butler who works hard in camp and practice all the time and he's making plays."

I'm all for the best talent on the field. I don't care who it is. If you can "ball so hard" then you should be out there.

I agree and the thing i like about Butler this year as opposed to last year, is how the coaches are talking about him. Last year it was a lot of praise but nothing was really said imo. He's having a great camp, yeah but what does that really mean? Yes he made some big plays and tough catches in practice but was he really a guy who was ready for the 53?

This year is a different Butler imo and I think the last 8 games he played last year helped a ton. Trestman spoke about how Butler has matured and continues to get better at his route running and explosiveness. The way both Harbs and Engram spoke about him was almost in the tone of....yeah we know what Butler can do in practice and we're tired of waiting. Go show us in game action.
