Ravens Rookie of the Year Predictions

38 posts in this topic

Out of all of the Ravens Rookies, who do you think will be ROTY for the Ravens? I know it's early and we don't even know if some rookies will make the team, but it's something to debate and discuss!

Chris Moore? Ronnie Stanley? Etc. Who and why?

Too early but I'll go with Correa. If he's as versatile as we are reading that he is I see him making plays from all over the field

I feel like there won't be a whole lot of  statistical production from our rooks but alot of gritty impact players, and solid developmental players.

But my early nominee is Ronnie Stanley. This guy is one of the more intriguing top picks we have had in a while, and if he plays up to par he could anchor our O-line and be an impact player as a rook.

Correa is already getting reports of being a straight up playmaker, just as I always expected.

He was one of my top DROY sleepers long before we drafted him and I stand by it.

Matt Miller said about halfway through the season that a lot of teams valued him in the late first.

When the Ravens said they thought they could get a first round talent in the second, I took it to mean Kevin Dodd (I think they really wanted him), but KC could have also fallen in there due to his versatility and ability to play inside.

i also think dodd was their guy and i think they were shcoked by tennessee taking him, i really didnt expect that. Dodd was a guy who i honestly wouldnt have been mad at if we took him 6th, i cant believe he went as late as he did, his ceiling is probably 1b to ramseys 1a, but i thought if dodd slipped past cleveland then he was ours, i was certain tennesee was taking a DB there lol

Not particularly enthused with the class, but I'll go with Matt Judon.  His play will be sporadic, but, for a number of reasons, I believe his play will increase as the year progresses.  I make his Sacks Total Over/Under @ 6.5

Gotta go with the #1 pick. Stanley is intelligent, athletic and seems to be extremely teachable. He may have a few bumps at first but I think he will prove to be the best LT we've had since JO.

I didn't understand them taking Dodd because all their pass rushers are under contract for at least two more years (maybe three), so I was shocked.

After all the reports of TN considering Ramsey at one, I'm also surprised they didn't get a DB, maybe Alexander (whom I really wanted), or someone similar.

But it appears Ozzie landed an ILB in the second. I do think KC will be an OLB in the future when the Ravens can land another ILB, but for now KC just looks like a jack of all trades.

i think KC is just gonna be a general wreaker of havoc, a guy who moves a lot and does a lot of things, hes probably the fastest and most explosive guy in our front seven atm, he has an incredible first step for blitzing and edge rushing, and even for breaking on screens etc. hes got a good backpedal, lateral movement, and a good feel for shallow and intermediate coverage, hell he can even run some man coverage.

i dont know how ravens fans can watch the kids tape and think he was a bad pick, he is a bit undersized for 34OLB and he needs work on his hand usage, that is literally all thats wrong with him. if he is used properly, he can be a game changer for us.

I think it will be Stanley just because of the importance of his position and how much we need a dependable LT.  I would love for it to be Chris Moore, but ill be skeptical until he does something in a real game, Remember the hype Butler got last year? Exactly.

Heard alot of great things about Stanley past week.   He is a LT.   I highly doubt they'll give him rookie of the year even if he performs well.

You need a flash position.  Like a QB, WR, Pass Rusher. or RB

I think if there was a tangible 'reward',  Dennis Pitta if full healthy all season will grab "Comeback Player of the Year"

This is an odd comment. This is imo the best draft in a very long time and I just don't see Judon making it on the field enough to name him the Ravens rookie of the year.

Of course you aren't.

Just remember. The entirity of Stanley's NFL career will be determined week 4.

Anywho. My pick. Rookie MVP for us? Stanley if he turns out to be decent his rookie year.

Likely to get recognition? If Dixon takes over the starting job him. Otherwise maybe Moore if he turns into a good deep threat.

I nearly sharted my pants when we landed KC in round 2. I still don't think he'll make a very good ILB, but then again, he's a great complement to Mosley. I think KC and Dixon share the honors (since LT never really gets consideration, else I'd say Stanley)

Stanley is in the best position to grab it.

Sleeper will be dixon for me.

Defense it will probably depend on correa coverage as i dont see him taking snaps from doom or suggs granted both are healthy and we have plenty of pass rushers vying for snaps  as well.

It's hard to provide justification when I've promised to not beat up on Stanley.  I do have his nickname already picked out and for good reason, but am going to save it until the Buffalo game.  Dixon is already injured. Correa came away with an underthrown ball....ok...good for him. Are we really going to play him out of position? Would you agree with me that if Newsome's sixth pick wins Raven ROY Newsome dropped the ball again?

When is the last an O Lineman won NFL rookie of the year? It wont be this year and it won't be Stanley.

If KC wins the ILB position and keeps it, that alone would get him the ROY IMO. The only other rookie slated to start is Stanley and linemen dont get the recognition.

Even Martin didn't win it. Yes he's a guard but he had a great rookie year. It's kind of irritating who these awards go to.

From my understanding it was which rookie will be the best for the Ravens, not actually win rookie of the year in the entire NFL.

I've seen it stated, in various media and fantasy football sites, that Dixon would be our offensive sleeper and even leading rusher. But, I'm going with Moore. I believe he will get a lot of playing time with SSS out for an extended period of time and Perriman still in doubt. Wallace will draw coverage and Moore will be getting the deep ball.
