Joe Flacco’s first day couldn’t have gone better. Dennis Pitta makes the play of the day. Kamalei Correa is a real contender for the inside linebacker starting role. Ben Watson had an off day. The running back corps is suddenly thin.

I gotta hope PERRIMAN comes on and back as well as FLACCO and PITTA have, why can't they both pick up where they left off? then WATSON just becomes a very good back up,if he can learn to handle the heat from FLACCO'S passes.

Yesterday the folks in our little comment area made the assumption that Wallace failed the test again yesterday when he was not at practice. It was clear, at least to me, that the Ravens were waiting until it cooled off a little in the afternoon to evening to allow Wallace to take the last leg of his test under more reasonable conditions. His presence today means that is pretty much what transpired.

On the Pitta catch, it certainly wasn't going to be a touchdown and I have questions as to whether Webb would have blown him up when he caught that ball had it been full contact. I know we all want Pitta to do well, recover, shine, make the pro bowl and live happily ever after. However, we don't have to pretend when he makes plays in shorts on non-contact days as being any sign of anything. Hitting starts Saturday and after practice on Sunday, we will find out if Dennis is here for the long haul or whether or not his family feels that the kind of hits he would have taken on that catch in front of Webb is really what they want him to do. Personally, I would love for him to come back and lead the league in receiving as a fan, as a person I just wish he would hang up his cleats before something absolutely horrific happens to him that will affect his life and the life of his family forever.

Why is it considered "hating", when one merely presents facts that show Joe's statistics are not among the elite"? That is the problem with such writers. They ignore the facts instead of reporting them.

Mark this down, Joe will pass for almost 5,000 yards this year! He has a wealth of talent around him and we have the same offensive coord. for 2 straight years, which is going to make this offensive unit outstanding.

I look for Crockett and Maxx to be the starters at TE.

I love your optimism. I share it too!

Pitta's last injury was on a non-contact play, so it's actually a great sign that he's able to run and cut normally at full speed. It doesn't prove he can make it through a season, but it does show that his hip is at least stable enough to run and cut normally at full speed, and that's a very important step that was never a given. Even after the contact practices, we still won't know whether he can make it through a full season. After his first injury, he made it through 5 regular season games and all of training camp and preseason before going down just by making a cut. There are no guarantees with him, but the first hurdle after getting on the field was to show that he can still move like he used to, and he's cleared that.

It's the Ravens' home page, so (like any team's home page) there is going to be a great deal of optimism and even hyper-positivity among the writers and fans alike here. The writers work for the Ravens so if they want to keep their job, they're going to focus primarily on the positives and write in a way that describes players in the best way possible. Sometimes that means overlooking the numbers and instead dubbing an average player as good or even elite.

I hope Perriman comes back SOON! He's had over a year to nurse his injury, meanwhile guys like Pitta are already practicing after 2 major hip injuries that put his career in jeopardy. He needs to hurry up and compete, or else he'll get a rude awakening when he falls on that depth chart and guys who continuously make play like Moore leap frog him. Im tired of hearing, "He'll be back soon" or "It's just lingering" or "It's no big deal." I keep seeing and hearing his name come up as being the starter next to SSS... But hol on... Mike Wallace is the same deep threat he is, hasn't had concerns catching the ball. is a veteran who has actually not just played in a game, but has played for multiple years, and with the exception of the failed condition test, has been on his p's /q's and works like he an UDFA struggling to make the team. My patience is wearing thin, and I have no problem with him taking a backup role.

And what some people fail to realize is that the biggest stat of them all is the W. Flacco has many of these, including in the most important game of them all. His numbers may look pedestrian compared to other teams, but remember he's had a different OC almost every single season he's been here. He's never had an elite WR to throw to. And he is in a run-first offense. Manning put up a lot of sexy stats in Indianapolis and while there he has as many superbowl wins to show for it as Flacco.

For the 100,000th time. This Dennis' and the Ravens decision. Are you mother hen? Say your prayers for him, wish him the best and wish him well.
