[News] Late For Work 7/22: Who Will Start At Every Ravens Position?

41 posts in this topic

I'd like it if they kept 1 more CB than usual on the roster. Recent history shows that we'll need him anyway lol, and I think it would be worth carrying Jimmy, Wright, Powers, Will Davis, Tavon Young, and Maurice Canady. In years past, they've kept at most 5 and as few as 4 CBs on the roster (if we're counting Levine as a safety). It'd be a difficult decision to cut one of them.

I think Crockett Gilmore will start over Watson. Crockett is a BEAST!

He won't be ready for week 1.

Another ex-Raven who's probably regretted leaving the Ravens:

NFL SUSPENDED COLTS DL ARTHUR JONES FOUR GAMES FOR VIOLATING THE LEAGUE'S POLICY ON PERFORMANCE-ENHANCING DRUGS.

It is yet another setback for Jones in what has been an extremely disappointing three years in Indianapolis. Jones was limited to nine games after signing a five-year, $33-million deal in 2014, and he missed all of last season after tearing ligaments in his ankle in the preseason. With Henry Anderson (ACL) still questionable for Week 1, the Colts are extremely thin along the defensive line. That lack of depth matched with the pay cut he accepted in March should ensure Jones keeps his roster spot, but it would not be surprising if this is his last season in Indianapolis. Any team would be foolish not to sign RR at this point. It would cost them whatever they wanted to pay... it would be a general donation to a charity of DV and great PR even overcoming the stigma that RR had been subject to. If RR can still play then they win and if not it was worth every penny in PR.

i just hope a team like the Patriots do not sign him.

Vet minimum for him is over $800,000, so he isn't free.

Also, roughly half of NFL fans are female (a group the NFL actively recruits) and I suspect many of them would be uncomfortable cheering for Ray.  Despite his many good efforts, that video will live on in infamy.

Well, that is ESTIMATED (45%). I bet it is also inflated. Go to any games?

arthur brown will start beside CJ. This may surprise most but we have been hiding him for a few years now. We knew we would lose him if we allowed him to be showcased last season.... We know Dsmith was on borrowed time... this is what we drafted him for and many will be surprised at his "GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT" over one season. LOL Keep your eyes on Arthur Brown... many are going to be surprised this year!

I also would not be surprised if Will Davis ends up starting over Sharece Wright. Maybe not right away (it may take some time to fully recover from that ACL injury) but by game 5-6 I wouldnt be surprised if Davis ends up being our most consistent CB!

Finally... I really expect Urban (or maybe even Kafusi) to start over LGuy... Not that LGuy is not solid and a quality starter.... I just really like what I saw from Urban in limited time last season... (and the expectations are even higher for Kafusi)!

One of the most interesting battles not being talked about will be Timmy Jernigan / Carl Davis / and Henry! Davis showed a lot of skill and promise last season before hitting the rookie wall!

The RB situation will be the most fun to watch. Dixion is coming in with a lot of hype. We know Forsett can be a pro bowler but he is aging. Trent Richardson is talented and motivated to make the most of his last chance. Talifero is a quality RB and can play in this league. Buck Allen played well last season and should be better and TWest is supposed to be in phenomenal shape and looking to take advantage of what may also be his last opportunity in the NFL. This should be a fun battle to watch / curious to see how it plays out!

Said earlier... mostly just a hunch. I will say that part of my rationale comes from the fact that it appears they moved Correa to ILB within weeks of him even starting practicing at OTAs, which generally would tell me that they may have envisioned this when they drafted him. Could be wrong though.

I think they like Correa a ton, and the competition for the second ILB spot isn't really all that tough based on what I've seen.

Like I said, won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen, but won't be surprised if it does.

I see. The word "expect" made me think it's more than just a hunch or bold prediction.

Probably a bad word choice.
