Emergency Backup Players

15 posts in this topic

This is more of a thread for figuring out who would fill in at a position if something crazy happened like everyone at that position gets injured during a game. Have fun with it, be serious, whatever. I'm just trying to think outside the box for entertaining threads lol.

For example, a few years back, Boldin was our 3rd string QB. I assume this year, Reynolds will be our 3rd string QB.

Here's some starter ideas, come up with more!

Who plays RB if all of our RBs/FBs were to get injured in a game? Crockett Gillmore? Eric Weddle?

Who fills in at kicker/punter if we lost Koch and Tucker in a game? Steve Smith? Marshall Yanda? Brandon Williams?

Who would play QB if we lost Flacco, Mallet, and Reynolds in a game?

Who would you want to see fill in?

I'm on standby if Ozzie needs me...

If only he read my emails.

I'm pretty sure our emergency QB at one point was Ricky Williams... So maybe a RB

If we lose too many O-linemen, we'd use B-Will for the interior and Urban at tackle.

Lose too many D-lineman, then it's Jensen and Lewis because of their physicality.

If we lose all of our RBs and FBs, we'll just pass on almost every play, with Reynolds at RB. If he's hurt too, then it's either Kamar or SSS in the backfield with Joe because of their blocking.

Lose all our WRs (again) and it's 4 TE sets plus Dixon or 3 TEs with Juice and Dixon. If we only have 2 TEs then it's probably Young in at WR because of his hands and ball skills.

Lose all of our TEs, then it's Juice the rest of the game. Lose him too, it's whichever backup linebacker they think can block, so maybe Correa or A. Brown,  or Ochi if he's on the active roster.

Apparently it happens at practice fairly frequently. He was a running back once.

SSS as the kicker. His son has a D1 scholarship to play and i believe is part of the USMNT youth player pool, so I imagine he spends some time kicking a ball around with him and has learned proper technique.

Flacco would be a great option at WR or TE... remember that sick catch from Troy?

Sizzle would be the backup RB or FB. Played there in HS and i believe set Arizona state records for rushing.

I think Webb could be a decent slot receiver. Quick, feisty, good hands. Maybe Jimmy as an outside receiver.

Urban could be a TE or tackle maybe. Might be a beast of a TE.

The rest are kinda boring or obvious... the Dline to Oline swithc is obvious. DB to WR or vice versa.

I agree with Reynolds, althouhg the offense at Navy was more of ground based attack with the Triple Option which isn't used in pros.

Koch, although if that happened they would just audition Free Agent Kickers next week.in Ownings Mils.

Probably, but what if Tucker and Koch both were unavailable in a game? Who would kick if they had to?
