This reminds me of some sort of stunt that Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell tried to pull when the Eagles made the Super Bowl. I think he made a bet with Massachusetts' governor when Philly faced the Patriots in 2004, and he ended up having to wear a Patriots jersey at a Sixers/Celtics b-ball game because he (and the Eagles) lost the bet.

Politicians trying to make their constituents happy through sports. *tisk tisk*

Maybe, deep down he is a Ravens fan but most of Pittsburgh isn't bright enough to pick up what he's doing with his name and they think it's a tribute... :)

Somebody come up with a poster making fun of the mayor for not only changing his name but effectively saying Steelers Stall.

Well then what is the definition of the word Stahl in English. Hmmm, I haven't read my English Websters in a couple years but I don't think it has one.

In the sense you guys are using it, shouldn't it be Steelerstall to adhere to what you're saying about it needing to be English and not German.

If not, then it has no meaning whatsoever and can't be made fun of. lol, I think I just confused myself

I wonder what his ancestors (and odin for that matter) would think about this. Hope this buys him a re-election or two, but knowing the capacity to make an educated decision that the populous of pittsburgh has hes probably set for life
