Kaufausi, is cleared also.  Excited to see what he's capable of.

I forget he's been out.

Oh noes, without pads Ronnie Stanley looked okay and in fact the coaches praised his footwork and he still managed to get the guy who lead the entire NCAA in sacks on the ground... We are DOOMED.

Haven't read/heard anything about Tavon Young.

Yeah bro, I was thinking the same thing.  Im a fan and his tape looks great but do you think his game will translate to the NFL?  His size sometimes worries me.  your thoughts?

Basically Tavon is being outplayed by Powers, which is absolutely normal. You won't here much from him until at least next year, just let him take some time to mature into a quality starter.

Funny...could have sworn Castillo was correcting him on his footwork in that rookie camp clip, with clip being the operative word.  There was a lot more video of rookie camp taken, what you saw and misheard was edited.  Then again, maybe you've seen even more of the cut film than I have and heard Castillo praising his footwork in additional film that hit the editing room floor.

Even though he's a bit small he's a pit bull with good ball skills. Just like you I'm hoping he can find a spot.

It was about his punch.

Additionally, I'm sure even Marshall Yanda gets coaching pointers from Castillo.

You can't teach closing speed or breaking on the ball. Young has those things in spades.

Funny. Could have sworn it was a short clip of rookie OTAs without pads... Guess not.

I'd hardly worry about it. Coaches are there to coach, not praise every minute detail of a player and give them no feedback on how to get better.

I don't care how good the player is; every single player in the NFL gets coaching and feedback. It's really that simple.

To be honest, he needed to. He looked much older with dreads.

And he looked like the predator as well....

Pretty much. I would never be concerned with the best teaching OL coach in the league giving a rookie advice on technique...

Well, the best WR in our division is only 5'10. And quite a few teams use smaller WRs in the slot. Those the are the type of guys Young would cover. It's not like he'll be taking on AJ Green.

In fact, it seems like Powers is outplaying the entire CB group.

From what I read, he was outplaying the entire secondary group.

"Jerraud Powers is kind of dominating everyone" - Jimmy Smith

Jimmy smith. They instituted a points system for the DBs based on passes defended, interceptions and swarming to the ball... And Powers was supposedly lapping the field in points.
