Kc got heat for ONE reason. Familiarity. He wasn't Spence or jack so everyone threw a fit.

Speaking of familiarity, I was beyond pissed we couldn't land cravens because I was certain that those trade backs were to move back up for him. If anyone sees news on how he looks that would be appreciated. Sorry its not ravens, just a big fan of the kid

When they traded back, I thought it was for four guys- Michael Thomas, Su'a Cravens, Noah Spence, or Mackensie Alexander.

Not totally upset to land Correa, but any of those other four would have had me elated.

i had a feeling that the ravens just werent targeting alexander at all. i was certain it was for spence with the first trade back, then with the 2nd i knew tampa was taking spence and i thought we were targeting cravens, then when we took correa i was certain we were trying to trade back up for cravens... that 2nd round was just packed with surprises lol. i think we got a player far superior to spence though, not sure about cravens though, i think hes gonna be special

Alexander was my second favorite prospect in the draft. I have a real good feeling he will be special.

Matt Miller guaranteed the Ravens would take Noah Spence if he was there in the second, so I was surprised. I didn't like him in the high first, but loved him in the second, especially in a trade back.

Cravens probably works better in a 4-3 anyway

honestly i think our front seven is so good against the run that he would have been a game changer playing 2nd ILB and lining up deep. i think hes in the same mold as deone bucannon but i think he could be wayyyy better, hes so instinctive and athletic and has awesome length and plays like hes 30 lbs heavier. i was ticked off about not getting spence but after evaluating it more, i dont think spence is a better player. hes as 1 dimensional as they come and he didnt dominate at EKU which is what you want to see from a small school guy.

Sounds like Zadarius Smith could be huge going forward. Also good to see how Kaufusi has been used so far. Also read that he lined up at OLB.

Yep!!

"Bronson Kaufusi played OLB, moved inside to line up at DT where he recorded a batted pass, was a wing on the FG unit (Matt Judon was the other) and stood out as the biggest man on kickoff coverage"

given that suggs and dumervil are both on PUP, suggs coming off serious injury and both on the wrong side of thirty - are we still not concerned with our pass rush? we supposedly addressed our pass rush in the draft but our 2nd pick looks to be lining up inside, not hearing much about judon or ochi - worse case scenario - suggs n dumervil arent productive - where does the pressure come from. if we dont get pressure - our secondary is getting picked apart again we seem to have our eggs in 2 baskets - old injured players or young unproven players - nothing in between

Z. Smith will be an added plus to our pass rush department.

if the reports on ZDS are accurate then he should provide some good rush, i dont trust suggs or dumervil at this point, and im honestly not expecting anything from judon, but i think ochi could develop in the future, and i think BK will come on slow but eventually be a good edge rusher. as of now though, it looks like we may depend on interior pressure, jernigan, davis, maybe urban and henry, and then mosley is a very effective blitzer and correa appears to be the same. great interior rush makes an average edge rush look good.

honeslty i just dont think we should expect too much this year, but instead look ahead to 2017 where the young guys become more experienced

Even if Suggs lost a bit I expect early on he'll draw double teams off reputation alone. That will help others to draw only one on ones and I think the defense has the talent to beat one on ones all day.

I'll over hype the hell outta this but I can see the team generating a lot of pressure from various rushers.

Yeah old injured players and young unproven players is basically what the entire team is right now.

if everybody on the offensive side is healthy and contributes, i expect big things, more than i've ever seen from a ravens offense - personally expecting the offense to carry us this season

not as optimistic for our patchwork secondary and LB's

Isn't Alexander the guy that couldn't backpedal?

I'd hardly call the Secondary and LB's "patchwork" we're probably working with the best Secondary we've had since the Super Bowl(maybe even better), and the LB competition looks very promising. Things are looking up again. (:

Hope springs eternal, each year before the first game.

And Campanaro appears on the not practicing list.  It better not be an injury.  Yanda likely a vet day off.

Well Mosley and B. Williams are certainly "tweeners".  But I agree  for the Ravens to have a possible playoff year, we will need production out of Rookies and last year Rookie no shows like we have never seen.  It's just the way it is. There's no real playoff talk here. Everyone knows.

Newsome is building this team for when he's 65.  In 2020 the Raven's will fly again!  And then Newsome will stick around to ensure we are on the "right track"

Suggs is back.   He's his old self and from the torso shot looks very much in shape.  He came back from this before. This time it took twice as long and he's not yet ready, but emotionally he's a rock.  If we are to have any chance this year the last of our Jedi Masters has to be present and at top form. This is a must view.

People said that about Ramsey

I've been a big Alexander fan from the start also. I think he'll be better than WJ3, Apple (whos a bust imo) and Howard. Might end up the 2nd best CB in this draft class

@jeffzrebiecsun

Harbaugh confirms that Yanda and Campanaro just got day off and aren't injured.

Harbaugh wouldn't confirm what Chris Moore and Maurice Canady are dealing with injury wise. Said they could be sidelined for a period.

Second round pick Kamalei Correa has been playing a lot as starting weak-side linebacker.

Anyone know much about Patrick Onwasor?

i seem to remember from when we picked him up as an UDFA that he was a safety that we intended to try out as an ILB. Would guess that would mean he is more mobile than the average inside linebacker.

Reports seem to be that he is playing nasty in camp- lots of big hits and scuffles it sounds like.

An ILB that can cover and lay the big hits sounds like the best of both worlds to me.....but is there any chance of him actually being good?!

Solid day for Mike Wallace after rough start. Two great grabs including touchdown pass from Flacco.
OLB @TheRealZSmith continues to impress in camp. Had several pressures on Flacco.
Ryan Mallett continued to struggle for much of practice. Even when not pressured Mallets throws were errant.
Kamar Aiken continues to excel. His rapport with Flacco is solid. The pair connected on several passes and touchdowns.
LB Patrick Onwuasor continued his trend of attacking rushers. Leveled Juice on sideline run resulting in Jusczcyk going after the linebacker

WR Chris Moore has tweak and Timmy Jernigan is fine, per Harbaugh.

Biggest cheer of Ravens practice came when Justin Tucker made a FG from 69 yards. Tucker got flying chest bump from John Harbaugh.
