Figured I'd start a post since the rookies and players returning from injury start TC this week.

Ravens first full squad practice is on July 28th. But Flacco has to report w/ rookies and rehabbing vets Friday.  He'll be on the field Saturday.

WOOOOOOOOO!

oh my god im so jacked. whos ready to try to determine who the team reporters are overhyping and which players are for real?

in all seriousness though, i cant wait. heres to hoping for a healthy TC and preseason, and follow it up with a good and healthy regular season. lets see where this team is at, because 5-11 isnt us, just how good we can be remains to be seen though.

Just making it through TC relatively healthy is step 1.

Pre-season, step 2.

Then it's just a matter of staying healthy and getting back to the dance. Can't wait.

So basically the entire team is reporting to camp this week? No but seriously even though it's not a bunch of days, those few days Flacco has with guys like Smith(if ready) Pitta, Gilmore, Camp and Zuttah will give him a comfortable environment coming off the injury. And it'll also give guys like Moore and Reynolds a good opportunity to make a strong impression on Flacco because they probably won't get as many first team reps but will probably factor into the offense in some way this year.

Also it'll be interesting so see who if any players will start camp on the PUP list.

Hopefully this is a sign he's ready to go and just wants a new start.

To be honest, he needed to. He looked much older with dreads.

I'm hoping the haircut gives him some more speed!

I can't remember who said it, but an NFL WR once said that cutting your dreads makes a huge difference in turning your head to locate the ball.

So something Perriman didn't have trouble with already is only going to improve? Excellent

I'm just so ready to see him in action.

Idk how much merit it holds but I do seem to recall reading it somewhere..

And yeah maybe the torrey comparisons can finally end lol

Well I mean Torrey started with dreads and then cut them so wouldn't that be another comparison?

Just saw pictures on facebook of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Adrian Peterson, and CJ Mosley hanging out together. Let's hope that those three rub off their football knowledge to Mosley. All three can be argued to be the best at their position of all time.

Doesn't say. It is on Ray's facebook page. Just 3 pictures of them together. I'm sure it is at some kind of event. But it is awesome a 3rd year player in Mosley is hanging out with players who have been in the NFL forever producing at high levels.

It's also awesome Mosley is comitted to learn more about his legacy as the New Ravens defense leader.

What do they say? Birds of a feather flock together?

Also heard someone say the load on an injured knee is vastly reduced after cutting the dreads too... ;)

Per Kevin Byrne,

Quote
  • Terrell Suggs has been pounding in the weight room and running hard in our indoor field for some time. … And his smile and entertaining swagger are back.

Let Sizzle rest and rehab during TC.  Let him play a couple of pre-season games and then turn him loose on 9/11.

I wouldn't be surprised if you run different and shift your weight different with the weight of your dreads on your head and back. That is probably a big reason.

It was the weight of the dreads that put so much stress on his knees.

Now he'll be healthy the rest of his career.

I mean it sounds stupid but Julio hasn't really been injured besides a stupid small one like once or twice a season since cutting his dreads... It honestly does add weight and throws your balance off having more weight on your head and back. It may affect the way you run and cut to an extent. Probably minor and I'm sure this is more psychological for him more than anything. I wonder if there is any research into that to see if there is a positive coorelation at least.

I honestly think the torrey comparisons came because of speed and dreads. If perriman never had dreads he would've never gotten the comparison lol

The best thing about the Perriman pic is that i get a positive vibe from it. He seems to be in really good spirits which is completely different from what we heard last year. So that leads me to believe that his injury may not be that big. I do know one thing. Between what this kid had to deal with his rookie season, to losing a really close friend in Tray Walker, the scare he had with his dad and now injured again all in a 12 month time period, if anyone deserved to win it's this kid.

I think he's tough as nails, has a ton of heart and not only will he be a stud, but he'll be great leader and model citizen.

Remember how correa was considered undersized? That dude looks big in the OTA footage. He's barrel chested, broad shoulders, built like a tree trunk from his core down to his thighs, and is probably the most gifted athlete we have on our defense.

Don't be surprised if KC comes in and contends for DROY in multiple positions
