Grading football grades is like critiquing a movie critic's review. It's a non-story. I can appreciate that its a slow part of the season, but PFF is pretty arbitrary as is. Some things they do well, some not so well. I always take them a grain of salt, as with most stat geeks; interesting data, lack luster analysis.

I just don't see the point in righting about it.

Good point. Can August get here any faster?

A HUGE LOT of "football stuff" around this time of the year is worth less than the virtual paper they were written on... That's when, year in - year out the complete football journalist crop fails to think ahead and stash away actually interesting and relevant stuff from the days when a lot of things happen - the season - to the leaner times - the summer...

Instead of all this early "Ranking" stuff I think I would actually rather read a thread from Mcjacket  explaining why I am wrong (and right) on a lot of topics! LOL

Same thing with Vegas odds. They are purely based on what it takes to get people to bet money. Discussing them is a waste of time.

It's always nice to log on each day and have news or something to read about the Ravens. Although, it might be a little boring and a little opinionated, it's always great to have some filler in between seasons. Keep diggin' Sarah!

After a 5-11 season, and two out of three seasons out of the playoffs, no one is going to give the Ravens anything until they take it. Until the Ravens prove they are not last years team, they will get no love from any media outlet. If the Ravens want to rank higher in any position or team poll, they are going to have to flat out play like a championship team. We have not seen that lately.

I just want to chime in about Tucker and although business is business, throwing a temper fit and saying I am taking my ball and going home and I won't play next year for the Ravens was a bit childish. And though the Ravens and Tucker have kissed and made up, the fan base is not so easily won back. For those who are happy with Tucker, good for you, but being a Baltimore Ravens fan for some time now, there is a part of the fanbase that if Tucker goes out and misses a couple kicks early in the season, he is going to get a good tongue-lashing the fans. I remember this past year with the Orioles and Chris Davis and everyone wanted him, until he was signed and they found out what he got in a contract, then they weren't so happy about that much money tied up in one person. Thing is, in Baltimore, you can't please everyone, and there will be a contingent that will not like the way Tucker handled this, the comments made, and if he struggles early in the season, they will roast him in the media, in social media and in person. His trips to Patterson Park may not have the light and airy feel they have had in the past and he is liable to run into some hecklers.

Just a quick add-on, last year certain pundits picked the Ravens to go to the Super Bowl. We were 5-11. These grades can't take into consideration, suspensions, injuries, and off years by players so in reality they are pretty useless. BUT, if you don't want to read about boring football topics this time of year, and your disappointed with content, why do you guys troll these sites and make comments even if your comments are that there is nothing worth commenting on. I think the writers here do a great job of providing the best material they can on a daily basis when, quite frankly, there is little to write about. I am sure Sarah's intent was to put these position grades out there and try to stimulate conversation about the Ravens and their position players. I take the time to visit other teams websites and the Ravens site blows them away.

He will get heckled regardless. He will get heckled by people for making more money than them and for being more valuable to his employer and to society than them.

That's just how the world works these days.

IDK....too early to tell how the OL will fare. We know that Wagner is solid and can be a very good player in this league. We know that Yanda is one of the best OL in the NFL and we know that Zuttah is clearly a quality center. I believe that we have seen enough of Urschel to know that he can play in this league and play well. Stanley comes in with enough of a pedigree that he reduces too much anxiety. It will be a learning curve and it will take some time to gel but by game 6 or 7 we should really be better then last year and I say that for 3 reasons.

1. Stanley will be an upgrade over Monroe who could not stay on the field and even over a KO who had to bounce from G out to T.

2. Zuttah will be back healthy and Wagner will be fully healthy. This means that 2 of the 3 returning starters will be better then last year.

3. We will have better depth. I like Ducasse and think he may even start over Urschel but if not... great back up. Alex Lewis will add better T depth then Hurst did and Lewis can play inside at G or T. I also like Nembot (although I think he will end up on the PS).

It may take a little time for this OL to come into their own but I really think we have the ingredients to perform way better then last season up front!

Rankings? What does it matter where someone is ranked as a position group. Waht matters is how well they play as a team working as a total unit. If they have great communication and execution, then they can beat any team out there that's got all these 'unit' accolades. Irrelevant in the grand scheme of things - victories.

10 reasons our WR corps also have potential to really rank much higher. Especially when you throw the TE's into the consideration.

1. The addition of Perriman, Wallace and Chris Moore will give us a lot of speed. A luxury we simply didn't have last season.

2. SSS... wants to go out with a bang. That is why he even returned.

3. The development of our TE corps. The addition of Ben Watson.. the return of Pitta, and the development of Gilmore and Maxx leave our TE corps dangerous additions in the passing game and will take some pressure off of the WRs

4. The running game should be improved with a year under Trestman and the return of Forsett and the addition of Dixon and Trent Richardson... we should be able to run the ball make us more unpredictable and taking a lot of pressure off of joe.

5. We will be better at protecting Joe. Stanley over Hurst off of the edge makes us light years better.

6. The emergence of slot WRs... (SSS in the slot, Camp healthy, Renyolds, Kamar)

7. The development of Juice. and the other RBs who can catch the ball out of the backfield.

8. Finally some familiarity with the OC...

9. Joe will be back and healthy

10. We have some very large Red zone targets now (Perriman, Moore, Watson, Gilmore, Maxx, etc.). Short yardage, redzone and chain movers - this is something we have not had much of in the past.

All of these factors should greatly contribute to a very dangerous WR corps. I know that some are indirectly related but the will all play a role in us having maybe the best WR corps we have ever had in BMORE!

Our Defensive front 7 is rated 19th? What?

That puts us in the bottom half in the NFL.... SMH. If that ends up that way Pees should just resign. If we don't not end up in the top 10 I would be greatly disappointed.

With the talent that we have we should be top 10 vs the run and with the emphasis we put on improving the pass rush... we should end up top 10 there as well. (especially with the return of Sizzle).

If we are not top 10 in both categories.... we would have a great deal of soul searching to do.

Wait a second....since when did anyone take Amateur Football Focus seriously? All they ever do is create pop fodder content based on national craze. I'm not sure their people even watch football, I think they just look up stuff on Wikipedia and scrape together whatever nonsense they can manage. They're almost as laughable as that Sarah Ellison.

I agree with most of your post except that In my opinion, Trent Richardson doesn't make the 52.

I agree T Richardson wont make this team unless by default. I think Moore has a shot, Dixon probably starts on the PS, You almost have to give Talliafaro a shot at the 4th RB/PR, Forsett- Buck Allen and T West are going to get the most looks.

When doesnt a kicker get heckled if he misses? Most People are fair weathered fans. Tuck just has to make 100% I guess thats not too much to ask by some who couldn't kick a soda can more than a foot.
