[News] Justin Tucker Signs Four-Year Contract Extension

40 posts in this topic

When you've had his kind of success in the AFC North climate, that's an embedded premium that you've got to pay for. He's one of the best in the league. This contract shows that the front office believes he can be THE best in the league. Like any big contract, let's just hope he lives up to it.

Tucker is confident enough to kick from anywhere and Harbs believes in him enough to let him try. A lot of his misses I can remember seem like not only were they 50+, but there were some 55 yarders in there that most teams wouldn't even attempt. Justin lets us be more aggressive on special teams, this signing was a no brainer.

some of those misses came right at halftime which were over 55+ yards. sometimes harbs needs to not be so aggressive.

"Im not going to sign with the Ravens unless I get a long term contract" Big cry baby. He got his money as everyone knew he would. He didn't have to be a drama queen about it.

You can guarantee it was his agent's idea at a bluff to make sure he was signed today, it's way too out of character for Justin.

I don't see why they shouldn't attempt 55+ yarders as the first half is expiring, it's worth sacrificing Tucker's FG % if it means a shot at 3 more points before the half.

Justin Tucker is a key piece in the Ravens getting back over .500 this season.  There is no way that he didn't earn this contract extension.  The Ravens have a way of negotiating up to the deadline.  He's not the highest paid kicker in the NFL, but he is #1 in our books.  On the other hand, he get the highest amount of guaranteed money of all kickers in history.

what's more likely to come up with points? a 55 yarder as time expires or a hail mary as time expires?  harbs should just keep doing what he's doing

I said it in the last blog, it was all about the guaranteed money, 16.8 with 10+ guaranteed sets him up for life, anytime you can get more than half of the money guaranteed you did good.....

Too often, players reach a point of declining skills but are great people to have around.

I'm glad, in this case, that we retain one of the best who's a great person too!

Great point.

People complaining his percentage was down on kicks of 50+ last year don't realize just that, because of weather, whatever, most other teams wouldn't even try those kicks, so yeah, he might miss a few.

Well done, Justin, well done Ravens. Great news!

Boom. The wolfpack will be intact for years to come. Gotna little nervous when that deadline was closing in on an hour away and with his agents statement. Big relief to sign on and see this. Put an instant smile on my face.

This is an excellent move.  Since we were awful at scoring points last year he was the default 3 points we so desperately needed. He was like a support structure under a sagging bridge.  The Steelers probably disliked this news. Opera stars do belong in Baltimore thbridge with no supprt.jpg
