Preseason Games Bold Predictions?

35 posts in this topic

Which players do you believe are going to win the preseason? Any players that will make the 53 man roster a harder task to cut down? What are some rediculous statlines you could see happen in preseason.

Offseason is so slow.

Offseason is so slow.

I think Kenneth Dixion and Maurice Canady are going to be the two bright spots, especially after hearing all of the gloat from the media.

Some camp body wr will make big plays against corners that will never see another nfl preseason, and everyone thinks they are the savior of our offense and the #1 wr we have lacked for so long.

Not bold enough?

Zadarius Smith is going to lead the NFL in sacks during the preseason.

Terrance West will lead the league in preseason rushing yards.

Bolder prediction when that "savior" gets cut no one on the boards will complain and say Ozzie doesn't know what he's doing.

Sorry this might be way too unrealistic.

Let's be real.  It's not limited to only WRs.  Bryn Renner was never making it through waivers last year until he did and then sat on the streets for several weeks without even a PS job.

Lol true I just feel that wr gets way too much hype in this context... Like not even close to other positions. At least it seems that way from my memory. A safety who gets any kind of turnover also, Omar Brown lol

Not relative to the hype, or the high regard some hold him in.

And anyways, other than that one long that ended up being called back for offensive pass interference, what exactly did he do? When you're considering A PLAY that was nullified bc of penalty as "showing something"; i think it just further demonstrates how the fan base glorifies the play and contributions of certain guys.

Butler and Clay have both done far more than Brown to justify being in the roster conversation but you dont hear even 10% of the hype/praise for them that you do for Brown. And Butler has proven it on the field and doesnt get the buzz.

Keenan Reynolds balls out and returns 3 kicks for touchdowns along with catching a couple. Mallet lights it up (against 2nd and third stringers mind you ) and matt Elam has the strongest showing on defense. oh yeah-  Terrance west makes one last strong push to make the 53 giving the coaching staff a tough decision on whether to carry 4 rbs ,4 tight ends or 7 wide receivers- BC there's no way we can do all of the above.

I actually think Mallett will get a lot of snaps vs 1st team defenses. I think Flacco sees very few snaps during pre-season.

Bold Prediction: not one journeyman or rookie will become a preseason darling this year

Now that's pretty bold

That's true. He does need to get comfortable being in the pocket during live action but I agree it will be very limited along with suggs, and sss. Here's a question..if perriman gets healthy right around preseason do you play him or wait for regular season? He needs some in game action as well but I'll be grimacing every route he runs.

If he's 100% healthy, he needs to play in preseason. You have some players that excel during practice but for whatever reason don't show up in games.  We need to see him under live fire.

I agree but let's say he's around 75%....we really need to evaluate him and get him some in game reps but if we end up losing him for the year again that would be devastating. Tough call.

I hope theres a new shining star breakout during preseason. Just like former Giants rookie Odell Beckham did 2 years ago.

I'd honestly play Perriman VERY sparingly in the preseason, maybe only like 20 snaps a game from week 1-3.

Perriman might not even be healthy enough for preseason.  Need to get him practicing in camp first.

At this point when Perriman is your starting wide receiver in the early preseason before getting hurt... You know he is very valuable. After his injury history in the offseason I wouldn't play him till week 1. I don't care if he doesn't start making a huge impact until the later half of the season, I just want him to make it to the season. I am one of those that defend his injuries because they were freak accidents but still. If he were to get hurt again it would be even more fire the front office does not need. I would give Aiken and Wallace as many snaps as possible, along with Campanaro and Reynolds.

It's not a bold prediction, but I'm going to predict that Stanley gets more pre season play than most starters.

Hopefully he'll do well

I think the Cotton Candy guy in 512 is going to have a MASSIVE preseason.
