Good points J.E. And for those that think that Joe is not THE leader of the team, please let them know what you, Coach, GM, and Owner think.

The knuckleheads in the national media fall in love with gaudy statistics - and ignore all of the other things a leader does for his team.

Leadership includes staying on the field after an injury so the team has a better chance to win the game, refusing to slam the teammate who rolled up on the knee in the first place, rehabbing out of the spotlight, showing quiet confidence that he will be ready for training camp, etc.

I'm glad he's OUR franchise QB!

He is without doubt the most essential player on the Ravens right now. He needs to be better protected this year for him to perform at a high level. We know that Flacco isn't at his best under tremendous pressure (not too many ever are), but if he's given ample protection and time, he'll carve open the opposition, especially when in a zone. So, let's all hope that this year all stars align for Flacco and the Ravens and we hoist our 3rd SB in 20 yrs!

So Joe Flacco is a kneelite quarterback?

That picture of Joe reminded me I heard somewhere Joe didn't know he was supposed to use the laces to help his grip. Did anyone else ever hear that?

If your hands are big and strong enough the laces really dont help much. QBs actually do a quick pass drill and they're told to get the ball out so quickly and not worry about finding the laces.  Hand size for QBs is one of their measurables at the combine.

Dear Joe Flacco, supporters, and writers,

To the supporters, Joe Flacco is our QB and tho we sometimes criticize him he's the best we ever had! We only criticize because we know he can do better. Wev seen it!

To the writers, please stop trying to desperately defend Flaccos contract and make excuses for it. Hint:- We don't need it. We know what a franchise QB is worth and we know how many bums make 20 mil a year that will never accomplish what Joe already has. Stop defending him because haters won't ever believe it! One super bowl didn't shut them up. You think an article will knock sense in them? Just wait till he wins another one and laugh to death.

To Joe, I'm prity sure you don't read crap on boards or at least I hope you don't. But if you do, then listen to this........ FO has invested a looooot of time and money in you. I swear that if you ask for one more pro bowl lineman they cant turn you down. Just ASK!

I know you can go find stats and stuff to rebuff my argument but I'm sure you'll agree with my eye test. I believe Joe "was" one of the best quarterbacks at standing bravely in a collapsing pocket. His mistakes are from him trying to force the play and not because he got scared and threw it early. It's still a mistake but that's a mistake I can sleep with. Other 20 mil dollar Qbs literally close their eyes and throw from a collapsing pocket. Joe often overthrows his deep guy because pockets are collapsing and he just puts it up there where his WR can get it or no one gets it. That's also a negative stat that I gladly live with. Me personally, I often question Flaccos mid range accuracy or throwing off the wrong foot more than anything else. What really puzzled me last year is how stubborn Trestman was in calling plays. So often were we getting blitzed all day and no blocking adjustments were made. One game against the cardinals if I'm not mistaken, we were blitzed like 50 percent of the time and Trestman didn't even adjust by putting a hot receiver on obvious passing downs or running a screen every once in a while. That's what scares me the most!

I absolutely agree that Flacco is def our most important player. I hope he gets the protection he needs from his line and his coordinator as well. If the stars align then il see you in Houston ;)

I am a huge Joe Flacco fan, however I think that to state ahead of time that Joe is showcasing his worth for the "NEW" contract is really yet to be seen. Joe is obviously a strong, talented and yes "elite" NFL quarterback. His ultimate display will be on the field as he has shown in the past, I believe he will. He also has shown great leadership qualities in the recent years, that if some remember were doubted in his first 3-4 years with the Ravens. Joe has great instincts, he has over time learned to trust and be confident in them. This I believe is where the "best" Joe will surface. We here in Baltimore/ Maryland know Joe is "worth" the money...it will be huge as the rest of the NFL nation continues to experience the same. Go Joe...you have our utmost confidence and fan support. This is Joe's time, I know for one I am eager to see him experience the pinnacle of his NFL career "playing like a Raven".

When Flacco was in the draft with Matt Ryan, all you heard was that Flacco, from a backwater school, was a good QB with a strong arm. But Matt Ryan, was a future superstar. As the years passed, these "experts" kept chipping away at Flacco's achievements, while touting Ryan as a "breaking out QB superstar" any day now. Let's be real, if Ryan had the same record as Flacco, he would be listed as a top 3 QB on anybody's list. Now, throw in the sports media's weird bias against the Ravens in general (never understood this, why?), and Flacco gets somehow labeled as overrated. Bottomline, I don't care what the media or anyone else says. I am just glad he's our Quarterback! GO RAVENS! 25

Joe Flacco is an above avg quarterback- without a doubt. But is he elite? No- if he was elite, then there would be no debate, and there is obviosly plenty of debate. I won't go into reasons why he isn't elite, but I can sure tell you Oz has hamstrung Flacco from being elite with drafting terrible wide receivers/ TEs (outside of Torrey and Pitta). Sorry, but this team isn't going to make the playoffs in 2016 because of the product Oz/ Dacosta have put on the field. Sorry.

There one way to settle this. Joe and the Ravens vs Matt and the Falcons in the Super Bowl. Make it happen!

I'm sorry the only way this could possibly happen is for Matt Ryan to win more than one playoff game !

Something he has never done !

This alone should tell everyone how much better Joe's NFL career has been...

No one doubts Joe's commitment to playing or his abilities in the post season. It is the regular season that doesn't support the "top dollar" moniker. He is mediocre at times and, in a few instances, downright awful, particularly against Cincinnati. Even so, he is a lot better than the majority of quarterbacks on other teams. The Ravens had to pay him "top dollar" because they rolled the dice and lost in his contract year. Get over it and get on with it.

You seem to have your own curve on quarterbacks, many do, me too. One thing you fail to give credit to Flacco for the 2012 Super bowl, most QB don't make to the Super Bowl , let alone win it as MVP. Elite! I do agree that Joe has had less support on the field than some. However your point about Pitta and Torrey doesn't make any sense. If anything the Front line has been one of the biggest let downs. Players must perform if you pay big money for them. OL Under-performers like Monroe, Oher, Harewood, Jones, have really hurt Joe's production and the Ravens. And you point out 2 wide receivers who were not paid much money and totally out-performed ..yet what about the ones who were supposed to come in and help this team and fell very, very short. 2016 actually looks to be a good roster so far, The Ravens will bounce back, you are being pesimistic about the playoffs without history or statistics to back it up. The odds are always in favor of any team not making the playoffs, but in the AFC north there are no guarantee's. This team just might surprise people as much as a dismal 5-11 did last year. GO Ravens!

The bias exploded  in the 2000 SB media day and Billick

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/nfl/super/2001-01-22-billick.htm   And here

http://www.nytimes.com/2001/01/23/sports/pro-football-billick-goes-on-offensive-in-defense-of-ray-lewis.htm

The Cleaveland media especially Tony Grossi hates us.  I went to ask the GOOGLE how to spell Grossi's name and found this article, the are worse then the old Baltimore Colt fans like me.

http://tcf.danwismar.com/cleveland-browns/1-browns-archive/10748-hope-common-sense-and-tony-grossi.html

Bottom line is Tony Grossi has been on a quest since 1995 to trash anything Art Modell and Baltimore
