2016/2017 season bold predictions

75 posts in this topic

So bold predictions we know how this works, a prediction that has the slightest possibility of happening. Here are mine:

1. Ravens get into the playoffs on a wild card and beat the steelers in the divisional round and the patriots in the AFC championship to lose at the Super Bowl to the panthers.

2. Elvis Dumervil comes back and breaks the season sack record as well as being the DPOY.

3. Steve Smith has the best season of his career with 112 receptions and over 1600 yards.

Correct. We were top 5 pass-heavy last season at 64.6% passing plays, and I can easily see that rising.

Correct.

Really not that bold I don't think. We were 5th in the league in 2015 at 64.6% passing plays, and the league-high was Detroit at 65.6%.

More passing game weapons, and I'm not a huge fan of the talent of our RBs. Think we are a lock to be north of 60%, and I could easily see us being very close to a 2:1 pass/run ratio.

Yeah, I remember us being lopsided that way last year. Trestman caught heat for it for sure.

And honestly, much of my perception isn't based on last season at all, since there are potential other factors from last year that led to that.

Me personally, I don't have a ton of confidence in the talent of our RB core, and with the large influx in possible quality pass catchers we have on this team, it only makes sense to throw the ball more.

Plus, we know Trestman likes to throw.

- Joe Flacco finally goes over 4,000 Yards Passing.

- Dennis Pitta is the Comeback Player of The Year contributing heavily to our offense.

- Defense improves but not enough for Pees to keep his job. Leslie Frazier takes over after the Bye.

- We win the AFC North after Frazier turns our defense around in the second half of the season while Joe does his thing offensively.

- While we beat the Patriots late in the year thanks to the improved defense, one or two losses in early in the season will haunt us and we end up with the second seed and a first round bye.

- We beat the Colts in the divisional round as they win their wild card game(currently have the Jaguars winning the AFC South with the Colts taking one of the wild cards)

- We beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game to advance to Super Bowl 51 in Houston to face two old nemesis's in Bruce Arians & Carson Palmer.

Breshad Perriman and Mike Wallace combine for over 1,300 Yards.

Dennis Pitta returns to form.

Our secondary ranks in the top 7.

Sizzle and Doom are the number one pass rush combo.

For some reason I can't edit this post but it should say Perriman but my auto correct vetoed my correct spelling.

Not one Flacco thread is created during the entire season due to consistently elite play and a yearning not to jinx said play. We win the super bowl because of this.

-Buck and Kenneth combine for more than 120 receptions.

-ZDS gets 8+ sacks.

-Our secondary is top10.

-Dennis Pitta comes back, plays the whole season, mostly in the red zone as part of the rotation and catches 10TDs, good for come-back player of the year.

Some have already been said, just rearranged them to my liking.

Flacco passes for 4,700 yards 38 TDs 11Ints

Forsett is cut in favor of Buck and Dixon

Stanley doesn't allow one single sack this year.

Brooks takes over the starting Safety role next to Weddle by season's end.

Marshall Yanda scores a TD

Timmy Jernigan emerges as a young leader on Defense.

Sweep both the Steelers and Bengals but lose 1 in Cleveland

Getting hard to one up all these predictions...

How about we go undefeated, that bold enough?

My favorite so far is that nobody gets hurt (about as likely as mine sadly)

Browns loss?  Come on man. That's the most heinous prediction possible. Some of these are pretty out there but losing to the Browns would be beyond embarrassing

Something about the SB in Houston sounded familiar.  Guess who was there the last time it was played there?  Steve Smith...

Flacco breaks Manning's single season td record with 53.  Just think how frustrated all the Flacco bashers from the media will be.
