Nice, this site just posted a top 5 list of his career so far and it made me realize where I stood on it

Welcome back, JT!

I don't know why I gave up hope so early. I believe I remember Rice's deal was announced at like 359pm on deadline day.

I think this is a very friendly deal for Tucker and the team.  Excited that I don't have to worry about another Billy Cundiff situation for a while.

Numbers for the #Ravens and kicker Justin Tucker: 4 years,16.8M, source said. $10.8M fully guaranteed. $6M signing bonus.

I think baby Easton can afford the finest baby foods, now

Lol, on baby Easton, Berad.  I am so happy for Tucker and his family.  All joking aside, quite possibly this was a consideration, as having a child does change one's long-term perspective.

Yeah, you hear players talk about doing what is best for their family, which usually translates to money. Still, I think Tucker likes the Baltimore, he's seen around the city a lot. Glad we could strike a deal.

Me too Berad.  Tucker has been great for the team and the Baltimore Community. Just love the fact that the Wolf Pack is together, still.   Doesn't hurt that little Easton's college fund started today either, lol.

This keeps the Ravens on top in special teams throughout the league. If offense can get better in the redzone and the defense get better at the back end this is an all-round team like the 2011 and 2012 squads.

This is kinda how I figured it'd play out. Less AAV than Gostowski, but more guaranteed.

Me too. Or maybe the other way around.

Knew the whole "came back with a lesser offer" was a smokescreen. He asked either more higher AAV, or more guaranteed and the Ravens came up on one but lowered the other. And they settled here...

Most guaranteed ever for a kicker as well as biggest bonus ever. Good for you Tuck! 4 more years of awesome game winning kick celebrations, christmas music videos, and opera singing.

The Wolf Pack is SIGNED - through TWO-OH-ONE-NINE...... woooo

Well glad we got Tucker done.

Washington didnt get Cousins in. Only offered him $16m/yr.

Chiefs didnt get Berry done. They apparently wanted him to pay for a disability insurance clause that would pay the team out as the beneficiary. They were miles apart otherwise.

And Jets obviously didnt get Wilkerson done... which means he'll prob hit FA next offseason. My goodness would I love to have him. I'd probably give up re-signing BWill and Wagner to get him...

My guess is the first year cap hit will probably be in the $3-4M range, but almost certainly lower than the $4.5M he was under before this.

A $6M bonus with a $1M base salary would put him at a $2.5M cap hit this year, though my guess is his base salary will be higher than $1M in year 1.

I almost hope its at least $4.5m if not more.... unless they plan on bringing in a vet ILB or getting Williams/Wagner done. Especially with the volatility of kickers. IMO theres a much greater chance that if hes going to suffer a big decline, it'll be in a couple years - not this coming year. So get out from under as much of that guarantee as possible early on.

He's got $10.6m guaranteed with a $6m bonus, right? I'd like to see his cap hit go up about $1m this year and structure it so we can get out if necessary year 4 and save some.... which is even better if he continues to play at his level bc then years 3 and 4 are amazing bargains.

So years 1 and 2 his cap hit is $5.4m ($1.5m bonus pro, $2.4m guaranteed base salary, $1.5m base), and then years 3 and 4 cap hit is $3m ($1.5 bonus pro, $1.5m base salary.)

CAP HITS:

Year 1: $5.4m

Year 2: $5.4m ($6.9m dead money)

Year 3: $3m ($3m dead)

Year 4: $3m ($1.5 dead)

I think thats what my scenario would look like.

Just saw Wilkerson got a deal done with the Jets^

its pretty awfully high.   Wilkerson's the best lineman out there, but jets have some serious depth at that position.   i don't think they'll be able to handle a functional team, but hey.  up to them.
