[News] Late For Work 7/1: Way Too Early Ravens 53-Man Roster Predictions

27 posts in this topic

Ozzie was dead on with Rolando McLain. I listened to fan after fan blasting Ozzie for letting him go both here and on the radio after McClain produced so well in Dallas. Then he doesn't show up for camp, then he gets suspended for 10 days. Yes he was good for Dallas, but he let them down when they needed him on multiple occasions. Yes these questionable guys can play well, when they can play, but they can't stay out of trouble long enough to be reliable and we need reliable.

I think the Alex Lewis video is priceless. Having an Australian Shepherd mix (and she is very smart and very attached), you can see how Alex's Australian Shepherd mix was in pure heaven when she saw her pack leader. My dog does the same when I come home from work, I can't imagine how much he/she missed Alex to go that long without seeing him.

You can blast Harbaugh and Ozzie about the quality of players we have, but I can see from the Orioles locker room how important a locker room is to the success of a team. Harbaugh and Ozzie have tried to build a championship team but do it within an environment that promotes family and living your life correctly. Could we do better with troubled players? Maybe, but locker room chemistry and feeling like you need to give your best for the guy beside you goes a long way also. Thats what Ed and Ray preached, just like going to war, give your all for the guy beside you and leave no man behind.

So true. I could tolerate a year where the Bengals don't make the post-season as well. But the best part would be that losing to the Ravens was the reason for the Bengals to be bumped from the playoffs.

i'd say CAMP makes it somehow,he always gets one more chance, not saying how, don't want to jinx PERRIMAN,also i agree with CHRIS MOORE,he'll be special, look at his college tapes, most times he blew up his coverage but had a week arm QB. and had to come back on alot of balls,he won't with FLACCO.you'll see him wide open alot, hard worker.a SHOCKER, RICHARDSON will make it in my book, somehow.

I would love beating them at their place to knock them out the playoffs.

They've owned us the last 5 games.

McClain is for the 'Boys what Monroe and Campanaro was/is, and Will hill would be for us: when on the field, they are valuable assets - it's just that they are not on the field too much for various reasons...

don't forget Boyle.  If I'm not mistaken, Boyle was suspended the same amount of time as McLain, 4 games last season and 10 this season.

I hate the bungles more than any other team including the Brady Bunch and the stealers.

53 man roster??! Man, I'm struggling guessing at the 90 man roster at this point lol! How many WR and TE will the Ravens keep? Barring any injuries, the talent is definitely on board this year! It's going to be awesome!!! GO RAVENS! 25

if it is like a neck and neck decision I would hope Harbs goes with the local kid. I feel they wouldn't just be playing for the team but also fighting for the city. They have skin in the game beyond the contract. When Reynolds was picked and they showed him and his family at his house someone there brought out a hat with the first(shield and wings) logo. If it was up to me West, Reynolds, and Campanaro would stay.

I am with Hensley on this one.  AJ always had good secondary receivers around him and now they're gone.   They aren't going to be the force they have been in recent seasons, but they might be good enough to be a wildcard team.

He has Kendrick Lewis as a lock to make the roster. Ha ha ha ha. I'm assuming he's trying out new material for his stand up career. We all know Weddle and Webb are our starting Safeties. That leaves two backup spots. Why would Lewis make it considering he can't play Special Teams? Anthony Levine will be our backup FS because he can play CB if needed and he's our best Special Teams player behind McClellan. As for SS, it's a toss up between Brooks and Elam. Whoever can play better ST will make it. I'm leaning towards Brooks because he has another year of control and he's cheaper and younger. But Lewis is too old and slow to play ST, why waste a roster spot on a guy who can't play. As a Safety he graded out as one of the worst, so I wouldn't even use him to spell one of the starters. Plus you throw in the fact that if you cut him you'll save over a million in cap space, and there's no reason to keep him. He will be a camp body. The Ravens might cut him early in order to give him time to sign with someone else. Think I'm wrong? Tell me why.

Somewhat agree and hope you're right, gotta see what the young guys can do but it wouldn't surprise me if the FO wants more experience as a backup. Again, I'm hoping you're right but wouldn't be surprised if Lewis stays

53 is early, however unless there is a total breakdown of the added talent that the Ravens have brought in I don't see Arrington, Waller, Camp or Elam making this team. I think all of them, with the exception of Arrington who performed pretty well down the stretch last year, have under-performed for the the time they have been with this team for one reason or another. I think those 4 spots will make a big difference to the Ravens this year if they can make the "right" decision. Not saying that they could not play better or perform at a high level but the NFL is about maintaining a high level of play ALL the time.

whats the difference, Lewis and Webb both will make the team if they stay healthy dont you think? I would agree Levine and Brooks look to be the 4 and 5. Elam in my opinion cant handle the high level of NFL receivers. Maybe a move might help him...who knows

not enough room for even 2 of them.... West has a shot for the PS however, The key is where do they stash Renolds and Powers. These 2 are deep in the placement but have shown tremendous potential. Camp is unfortunately waiting for a spot to open up, its his only hope.

Renolds, Powers, Kaufusi and Canady in place of Arrignton Waller Camp and Elam. quite a battle I would say!

Camp only makes the team if a spot opens, he is way down on the list. a lot would have to happen for him the make this team again.

Too early for pontification of the 53 man roster. A lot will change between now and start of the season in terms of injuries, player availability and potential trades. Also, a lot will change based on the performance of players during training camp. What we can all take comfort in is that the best 53 men will be on the roster come opening day. That much we can be sure of.
