[News] Offense In 'Much Better Shape' In Year 2 Under Marc Trestman

6 posts in this topic

Head Coach John Harbaugh is ‘very excited about where we’re going offensively’ in the second year with Marc Trestman in command. After running Gary Kubiak’s version of the offense and with many injuries last year, Trestman has command of the scheme and a lot of weapons at his fingertips.

I'm really looking forward to what our offense can do this season, so stacked at RB, TE and Receivers.
What I'm more interested in is what changes there will be on on defense! I hope we can get a little meaner and dominant. I really miss the days when our D scared other offenses !

The 1st year that Flacco has a OC for 2 years in a row (since Cameron) and unfortunately he couldn't participate in offseason workouts b/c of rehab.

Some continuity is gonna go a long way. Hard to say how things will shake out being so stacked at tight end and rb but injuries will narrow things down.unfortunately iim thinking perriman may start off on the PUP this year, but that will give us another spot to work with.

I'm thinking at WR we go

1)Aiken

2)SSS

3)Wallace

4) campanaro/Reynolds

5) Mathews

6) Moore

of course injuries could bump campanaro( gonna be tough to keep him and Reynolds) , and a guy like butler or even Daniel brown could sneak in as well. Mathews may also be in a battle with Waller. Although waller is being looked at tight end- its just a numbers game- and him being a tall redzone threat similar to mathews, he may knock him off due to his versatility and strong special teams play.

RB will be

1) Forsett

2) Allen

3) West

4) Dixon

And tight end

1) Watson

2) Gillmore

3) Pitta

4) Williams

If no injuries occur during the year to the tight end corps and they are lighting it up I have no idea what will become of Boyle...I imagine he could be stashed on the PS but I could see him easily getting plucked. Can't see a trade happening with any of the young guys either...just hard to tell and will be interesting as hell to see how it all shakes out.

Curious, is this your guess at the RB's depth chart?  If so, as much as West has impressed so far, I see Dixon started off as the 3rd RB and probably 2nd by the middle of the season.

All reports I've seen from OTA's and mini-camp had Watson and Pitta running w/ the 1st team.

We have a good problem w/ depth at the RB and TE positions.

Was more so just listing who will make the cut, but actually in that case yes- I think the rb depth chart will Start out that way with Dixon working his way up to number 3 ( and possibly even 2 ) throughout the year after he gets some experience under his belt. But yeah I have no doubt we keep 4 .
