And my opinion is David carr is in the not so much group.

That's fine. I certainly don't agree that Flacco is overrated. I'm saying his opinion shouldn't be valid or not valid based on his playing career.

I can agree with you to a point because every person has an opinion. However as I said before it's all about if your buying what they are selling as far as their opinion goes. To some his opinion is probably valid but to others not so much.

David Who?

Who is he?

Why does he matter?

Other than recovery Flacco is the least of our worries, though he did underthrow a good number going deep last year.

If all of our players were positioned as Flacco, I'd confidently predict a Championship game for the Ravens.

Then again, maybe David Who consults for us.

Now we have to listen to David Carr say he is overrated.  Whatever

How did he get a job on the nfl.com anyway, did the nfl feel sorry for him....

He got the job because his brother is a real NFL Qb. The truth about Flacco is going to be found out this year. He finally has a real core of receivers at all positions: Wr,Te, Rb and Fb. The only thing that can hold him up is the OC game plan. Throughout his career, the combination of dismal receiving corps and horrid OC's have kept Flacco from flourishing.

Nothing unusual about this.  If we can stay away from injuries like last year, then I think we make the playoffs and possibly further.  Then, all the Flacco critics will somehow fade into the shadows until the next preseason where and when they will emerge once more.

It's definitely the off season. Analyzing and coaching have nothing to do with being a great player. Deep down you all know this terrible argument. Flacco should be right next to Eli Manning on the ranking systems. I've always put them in the same category. Any given Sunday with these guys under center for better and worse

After almost a decade we don't know the truth about Flacco?

hes a SB MVP, and won it deservingly. Call him overpaid but if we let him go the Browns pony up the same amount to go get him.

this is irrelevant.

David Carr has no business analyzing NFL QBs after how atrocious he was. He has no ability to rate QBs, let alone under or overrate them.

Yea I saw this. At least he had Flacco less overrated than Cutler and Dalton. Dalton being the most overrated somewhat surprised me with the season he had last year, and most media guys seemingly turning a corner on Dalton's ability (even though I think it had more to do with the talent around him)...

It's w/e... As much as i dont agree - I can admit that there is sufficient evidence and reason to have that opinion.

Just depends on what you look for or value in your QB.

I hear you, you're preaching to the choir. I watched every game of Flacco's NFL career. He's Elite, without a doubt, and the questions will finally be put to rest.

Reason 2,567,034 I don't read RAVENS media outside of Baltimore.

Lol I can't take ravens media inside of Baltimore either. The 5 minute segments on Justin Scott and Spiegel and this website is all I can bear.

I'll accept this IF Flacco does not perform well with the supporting cast he has going into this season. On paper, this should easily be one of the more talented ones he's ever worked with. It's not the SB corp Aaron Rodgers had or the 2011/2012 Atlanta Falcons roster, but it is talented enough that Joe can definitely get it done.

However, until he doesn't get it done, he's top 10

David Carr, live on NFL.com said that Flacco is the number 3 overrated QB in the NFL because: even though his numbers look good, and he has the most top playoff stats, and a MVP superbowl ring....his play is mediocre..........WHAT????

Ah yes it's off season....release the media trolls....I guarantee that before the first preseason game all the "football analyst" will have the Steelers and Patriots as the AFC championship contenders.....here we go again!!!! lol

Its funny they're a troll when they post an opinion thats different.  Most outside of Baltimore think he's medicore to bad, but on this site he's easily top 10, probably in most top 6 or 7.  Regular season does matter, regardless of what he does in the post.  You have to get there first.  Flacco would also do himself some good if his play wasn't so erratic from game to game.

Who were the other 2?

And everyone attacking Carr now.  Every known excuse is made for Flacco on these boards.  Doesn't Carr own 2... that's 2 of the most sack season as a qb?  His rookie season was sacked 76 times and happened to lead the league in fumble recoveries.  I wonder why.  Does anyone remember his car or watch commercial where they basically clown him about having no protection?

I still think Carr would've sucked anyway, but he was set up for failure.

I discount his opinion because his argument doesn't support it.  Talks about how good Flacco has been and then says Flacco is mediocre.  Huh?

If I had to guess, I would say Romo and maybe Dalton.

I'll take Kubaik, Gruden, and Collinsworth's opinions on Flacco anyday over Carr's. Anyone still talking about Flacco being over-rated is just trying to drum up to same old garbage we've been hearing for years now.

It's their job to create controversy, especially this time of year. Great work, if you can find it.

Since when Flacco is rated elite outside of Baltimore?? How can he be overrated when he's never considered elite in the media and fans around the world?

Is David Carr referred to himself? cuz he has been overrated ever since drafted as #1 overall pick.....

If we're using Joe Flacco standards, critics would say he holds the ball too long and takes those sacks. I've seen words on that, actually...

I don't care what Carr thinks. He's paid to give his opinion, he gave it... won't be the last person to throw shade at Joe Flacco.

I've seen Flacco lose some games for us, mostly, on last possession bombs, that were picked off. But, was it his fault or the coordinator's fault for putting him in that situation? A lot also has to be put on teammates, coaches, and the GM for wins and loses. We are a winning franchise which could be a lot better or maybe  worse, depending on the supporting cast.

Oh, so this year is David Carr speaking negatively on Joe?  Okay, check 2016 off.  Any early predictions on who it will be in 2017?

Well, last year everyone was heaping praise on the Ravens, we had the best roster, we were the popular pick for the Super Bowl, etc.. - we go 5-11.

Most years everyone overlooks us, knocks our players, we're too old, we're not talented enough, we dont have enough playmakers, Ozzies falling off, etc.... Playoff bound and SB contender.

I'll take the national media over looking us all day.
