[News] Are Ravens Changing Defenses?

32 posts in this topic

When you got a stud NT in B Williams you don't leave your 3-4 behind. With all the defensive line personnel it would seem logical they run most 4-3 looks in obvious rushing situations or as a disguise to rush the passer.

The outlaw of the chop block has made a change on how to defend a team. D-lineman no longer have to fear the chop block, which bodes well for a big clogging d-line, as the 4-3. Basically, stopping the run and playing the pass.

I believe we are currently set up better for the 4-3 with a line of Guy, Jernigan, Williams, Urban & reserves (Davis and Moore).
Lb's : Dumervil, Mosley and Suggs

Along with our new Draft picks and our solidified backfield, we look pretty dang tough.

you gonna loose a lot of games if that is the 4-3 you are going to run.

dumervil and suggs are not 4-3 OLB.
both would play DE if we switched.

Honestly I see Smith and Correa at OLB with Suggs and Dumervil at DE and Jernigan and Williams in the middle when we play 3-4.This leaves Mosely in the middle and is a pretty strong front seven. The depth is the big concern to me. Guy, Kafusi and Urban can rotate without much of a drop off. Moore, Davis, Brown, Orr and McClellan all have a lot to prove as far as I'm concerned. A welcome addition would be the emergence of Judon as the type of pass rusher he was in college.
