Just some random tweet stalking of Zrebiec...

James Hurst is currently the 2nd team LT.  Please... no...

Kendrick Lewis remains the 3rd safety with Elam and Brooks rotating in with him on the 2nd team.

As said above, Terrance West has been very impressive all offseason.

Daniel Brown has been spending most of his time with the TEs.

yawn...we've heard all this before '' Everyones impressive''.

none of this means anything.

Sami says some pretty outlandish things at times but I sort of agree with this.

We are in the middle of overhype season where every team thinks they can win a Super Bowl.

I kind of got this sense last year when everyone was saying how impressive people were.

I'm not saying we are going to suck like some are, I think we may need to temper expectations that follows our excitement for our team during this time.

I think we make playoffs, but I need to see how impressive these guys are in pads against other teams who want to destroy them, not friendly drills.

Edit: That being said I do like to see the updates of our guys doing well.

Zrebiec just answerered a tweet earlier today about Judon, "physcially he looks great. Been pretty active. Pass rushers are tought to gauge though in no contact practices."

About the 'pads' issue, you're absolutely right. Without pads, every quick player looks amazing. I guess we'll really know when TC begins how we stack up as a team.

I'm paraphrasing but Preston said he looked average out of the gate, same with Correa.

Correa too? That's disappointing but we're talking about paraphrasing the biggest 'negative Nancy' of Baltimore sports writers in Mike Preston. So, it's best we take it with a sack of salt.

I don't like how Preston is always negative, but I will say that at least he's not scared to give the unpopular opinion.

Better yet - take the opposite of what he says, and thats more likely to be true. Dudes a Ravens hater.

Judging by his Twitter bio, it does look like Daniel Brown is officially a TE now.

What's going on with Mallet? Hopefully a better defense makes him look worse?

But it talks about errant passes so that's more on him

Just mallet being mallet

People really take Flacco's ability to quickly adapt and build chemistry with his WRs almost immediately. That's a really strong quality of Joe's and not having him under center highlights that imo.

I'm tired of being forced fed how good every player is.

There's a middle ground of accuracy and realism though... Team reporters and Preston are on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

I reserve my optimism for players that really impress me. I do not like judon at all. And Correa I like as a LB, not a 3-4 rush olb.I know it is unpopular to say that bout any ravens player. But not every player works out. Judon will be on the practice squad if that. Correa has much value but not on the edge. When Preston says a player is not impressive he is usually pretty accurate.

I think you might be right on Judon, but Correa has value all over the field.  His biggest strength is rushing the passer, so he'll certainly do a lot of that even if it's from the inside or weakside.

That is his ammo. Contrarian views on anything that is popular gets people riled up and gets him clicks. The more clicks he gets the more negative he gets and it goes on and on with no end in sight!

What have you seen in Judon that you don't like? More importantly, where?

Are you saying you like Correa inside? Why?

His strength on film is clearly his burst off the edge.

I hope we find some way to keep Darren Waller. He was a special team ace and has so much potential as a offensive weapon. I just can't see him making it tho with this loaded TE group.

If he were a tight end, he'd probably literally only flex out into the slot, so I don't see the point in calling him a tight end, really. He's basically a Marques Colston.

The numbers make it so tough, but you never know what happens with injuries.  Still, you're looking at 4 TEs and maybe 8 WRs (Chris Matthews has been very impressive, apparently) ahead of him.

Judon just ran over and around community college tackles. I like Correa as as olb in a 4-3.He will be a great blitzer but not taking on nfl tackles from the edge. When he blitzes as a LB he will not have to beat a tackle. Tackles will be distracted by Kufusi and Dumervil. Offenses will not have an answer for a Blitzer like Correa. If he can learn to be a great LB then his blitzes will catch offenses by surprise and will not have an answer for a Blitzer that could actually play edge rusher

Some observations on mini camp from Russel Street.

Some good stuff about Moore.

I like moore. He has elite burst an explosive second gear and very fast ball skills. He is explosive in short areas as well. I'm rooting for him to be the ravens #1. Beating out Aiken, Wallace and even SS. He and Campanaro could be quite the duo.

Yea, everyone here knows that this is just Minicamp and there is no real competition, its a way to see just how players move and how they intake the info.  Theres nothing wrong with getting excited over players, if not then whats the point? Sami is just always super negative.

He was absolutely dominant against small school tackles, which is what you need from a small school prospect. There's a difference between a guy looking good in d2, and a guy in d2 looking like he belongs in the next league.

And you are way too critical of correa. I get your point about him being a superior 43OLB but he is an edge rusher first and foremost, his burst off the line is elite, and he is a raw product but has the tools and is still very young and you need to be patient to see how well he fills out. Correa is one of those guys that you really need to just give him time. Arthur brown has packed on a ton of weight and he may be a scrub but he hasn't lost a step of speed, and brown had supreme definition and looked like a lot more of a long shot to bulk up and maintain burst. His absolute best asset is edge rush, how he provides that doesn't matter. Hell all he needs is 10 lbs to be playing at OLB weight anyway.

It is no real leap to expect Judon not to stick based on level of competition, the track record of small school phenoms generally, etc.

I was wondering what you saw specifically outside of that.

I question him inside but you have an interesting point regarding Corre If he can learn to play inside. He does get stuck often when guys get their hands on him.

If he can stick next to Mosley it will be interesting to see how many legitimate pass rushers we can have on the field at one time.

Hmmm... interesting.

Idk how long this keeps him out, but i almost hope he gets injured so we can IR for him the year... bc i doubt he makes the team. If he goes on IR we can control his rights for the year, keep him around the facility so we can monitor his progress and show him how we want him conditioned, be in the class room, etc...

And then next year when we've likely cut a couple guys from this competition and Forsett will likely be moving on, Richardson can have another shot at making the team so we maybe roll with Dixon, Buck and Trent.

From everything im seeing and hearing, he's not ready to make the team this year... but he was out of football completely for a year. A full year in a great organization with our coaching staffs guidance may be what he needs to reach some of that potential... but i also dont want to cut a useful player this year or waste a needed roster spot on a guy whos not ready just based on his potential. And i dont necessarily want to give up on him just yet.
