Tweets by Brian Brower:

DC Dean Pees says he thinks LB Arthur Brown is having a heck of a camp. Has improved greatly.

Trestman says there is an extreme sense of competition on offensive side of football.

Pees says he thinks we will all be surprised at just how improved the secondary is.

On Brown, i listened to the interview and i think this is very misleading. I saw another post saying that Brown looked great according to Pees.

WIthin the context of the interview - it was basically a throw away comment. He was asked about the ILB situation next to Mosley and whether they would like to have more guys there.

In response he basically said, of course we'd always like to have more, but then pointed to Correa and McLellan being great in their diversity as they offer an option there. He then names Orr.

After a pause, he quickly then cuts in before the next question is asked and says the comments about arthur brown having a "good camp" so far. Brown was the last guy he thought of mentioning. To me, that's more telling than the fact the he was the only player of the group he mentioned having a "good camp." I would think if he were really coming along and standing out, when asked about the position Brown wouldve been the first guy on his mind. He wasnt, and in fact almost didnt mention him at all.

So, i think a tweet like this is very misleading and taken completely out of context.

Yeah saw the other post as well where it said brown looked good according to Pees on Russel street report. But I also took note that Orr was mentioned as playing more alongside Mosley and the Brown comment seemed like an afterthought to me as well.

I kinda thought maybe I'm reading too much into it lol.

Today is the last day of mini-camp and practice starts at 11:30 today.

Good, that means we'll get some interesting news/updates earlier in the day today.... so this afternoon at work wont be quite as mundane.

I haven't heard much about Victor Ochi. Any news on him guys?

I tweeted Jeff Zrebiec asking how Ochi is looking so far,

His response:

To be quite honest, I haven't seen a whole lot of him. Saw him in special teams drills, but not much otherwise.

I don't know him personally at all, he just happened to respond to my tweet.

Actually, he responds to a lot of fans questions/tweets.

You actually don't need one.  But it does provide almost instant updates on Ravens news from sports writers/media accounts that you follow.

That being said, you can go to your browser and read Zrebiec's tweets with out having an account.

I've chatted with him too. Very responsive to serious questions! As is Hensley and Garrett too.

That can only mean Judon is a way better prospect and Ochi's chances of making the team would be practice squad at best. Then again, it is too early in the off season.

Zrebiec just answerered a tweet earlier today about Judon, "physcially he looks great. Been pretty active. Pass rushers are tought to gauge though in no contact practices."

wasn't Richardson dealing with a soft tissue injury? Like his back or hamstring or something?

Hamstring but it sounded like he had practiced in minicamp a few days before

I'm paraphrasing but Preston said he looked average out of the gate, same with Correa.

A bit off topic but last night I went back to revisit his Bama tape and it wasn't as impressive as I remember or maybe I just know what to look for now, his lack of speed really stands out and how much yardage is blocked for him.

I had him on my fantasy team his rookie year, and I noticed the same thing:  lots of volume, good blocking.  The next year not so much.

I'm also really skeptical on whether he has the awareness for a zone blocking system.  He doesn't always make the best decisions.

Not exactly, he said they didn't amaze with atgleticism, but rather with effort. Not a compliment, but that doesn't necessarily means they're average.

If Preston said that then I'll assume they both looked solid in their respective roles.

Trent Richardson and Brandow Williams didn't participate in today's practice.

Williams is having a baby and Richardson is still dealing with the hamstring issue.

Trent certainly isn't giving a good first impression, especially with everyone else at the position doing well.

I imagine it must be frustrating for him. He's worked really hard to get back in shape

Yea, it was already an uphill climb and hes not doing himself any favors. He needs to not only be on the field to get as many reps as possible, he needs to take advantage of every single one and impress. Impossible to do that on the sideline.

And the difference in how Harbs addressed Trent and Camp missing time to soft tissue injuries is telling. With camp he heaped praise saying hes a hard worker, in incredible shape, and is just unlucky. With Trent he said he needs to basically learn the difference between being in shape and being in football shape. Basically sounded like he blamed his preparation in Trent's case.

Pulling for the guy, but not a good start.

Yeah it seems like he's definitely 6th in the race, and a distant 6th as well.  It also sounds like Terrance West has been very impressive after his body transformation.

I watched Harbaughs press conference earlier, but I was in a loud room. I could've swore a reported asked about Terrence Brooks and Harbaugh mixed him up and thought he was a running back. Could someone check that for me? That'd be funny if he did mess up lol
