It's not like Monroe has been reliable. So what if Stanley isn't good and Monroe gets hurt again?  I mean if we are going to play the what if game...

When Monroe has been healthy hes been good.

Stanely hasnt proven anything. Tunsil was more pro ready but of course, we are obsessed with choir boys now. I really didnt like harbs tone discussed monroe and the medical cannabis '' we dont share eugenes views'' . Tells me he's backwards, anyhow i have never respected harbs. I'm anti military and anti army. He's pro that statist evil crap. This organization is representing backwards thinking...its a shame, really..

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I don't understand why people would want to keep a guy that clearly doesn't want to be here.

i think the FO froze him out more than him not wanting to be here. Not supporting a good cause and having a backwards thinking mind. Im shocked ricky williams and harbs could even have had a conversation back in 2011..

Yeah when. To bad it's not often which was my point. You wanna play what if I'm adding a real scenario about the unavailability of Monroe.

Stanley was absolutely the more pro ready of the 2. You've been stringing together a few coherent thoughts don't blow it now.

This is the observation report from Br.com today: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/News-And-Notes-Receivers-Step-Up-On-Day-1/a4a147e6-9a20-4cf8-a4a5-b8acc19653ce

Too funny..."- An entertaining portion of practice was watching reporters dodge field-goal attempts from Justin Tuckericon-article-link.gif as they bounced off the wall of the team’s indoor fieldhouse."

- Rookie linebacker  Kamalei Correaicon-article-link.gif  is lining up all over the field. The coaches are giving him a look at inside linebacker and edge rusher, and he’s getting plenty of reps with the first-team offense.

I bet he makes a beastly running back

O line will be a HUGE weakness infact. Esp if Yanda drops off..

We should at least sign Louis vasquez for some depth.

Please Lurk for awhile

Reynolds is the feel good story of the offseason so far and he seems to be keeping it going. With Camp out for who knows how long, this is a great opportunity for Reynolds to carve out a role on this team and he seems to be making the most out of it.

This time last year I wasn't as high on Kamar as others, but he didn't showed me all I needed to see of him last year. That guy is a weapon for this team and I don't think the Ravens will allow him to get away. He's consistent and clean off the field. Can't ask for much more from that guy.

I think Jeremy Butler definitely has a place in this organization and wouldn't be surprised at all to see him as the 7th WR kept. Also good to see Moore showing off his skill set. This time of year is made for him, his test will come in camp and preseason when DBs can get physical.

I'm very interested in seeing how Fraizer develops this secondary. I give Bobby Engram so much credit for turning the WR group around, I'm interested to see if Fraizer can do the same with the DBs.

Leslie Frazier name dropped Sheldon Price today as a guy that is getting 1st team reps in place of Jimmy.  Zrebiec mentioned that he looked impressive, as well.

6'2 200 lb. former UDFA that got a couple of games in Indy.  He signed to our practice squad in the middle of last year and was put on the 53 for the last game of the season, but didn't play.  Impressive length and has always been a borderline guy at the back end of Indy's roster.

Interested to see if anything becomes of him.

Yep I wouldn't expect anything more than a 5th or 6th CB, but it'll still be interesting to see.  Arrington looks to be out of a job, though.

I would have expected him to compete heavily for the nickel job, but I guess with Powers being there.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought Kyle Arrington was going to go back to playing the nickel, where he made his money. Leslie didn't even mention him though. I guess powers higher up on the depth.

A 5th or 6th cb with NFL level ability is priceless for this team, as we all know.

That caught my attention too. Very interesting that hes the first guy up with Jimmy out.

Of course a lot can change, but it looks like Jimmy and Shareece will start on the outside with Powers in the nickel. I think as it stands right now, Price is the first backup on the outside, or #4 on the depth chart.

That leaves Young, Davis, Canady, Arrington, and Julian Wilson fighting for, what, 3 spots?

And out of them Young is safe, and Wilson is the longest shot of the bunch. Keep 2 of Canady, Davis and Arrington. And, Davis/Arrington are similar players as they're both better equipped for the slot, but Davis might offer more on the outside. While we have a very limited idea of what Davis can be, we know what Arrington isnt. And if he's not playing ahead of Powers at this point - who literally just joined the team - than I think he's in serious trouble.

I'd say you're looking at 6 CB total at the most.  You know, assuming health, that Jimmy, Shareece, and Powers are all safe.  It doesn't sound like Jimmy is doing too well right now, according to reports, but that's another conversation.

After that, it's wide open.  Young will get a spot as a 4th round draft pick and backup nickel option.  There have been reports that the team really likes Will Davis, but he also only has a touch over one game as a Raven to his name.  He is an option for both outside and nickel duties, though.  Price is in the fortunate spot of having his name dropped and likely being a better option than Canady and Wilson on the outside.  Maybe he makes it, maybe he doesn't.  Based on how everything is constructed though, you'd have to think Arrington's chances are very slim.

I'd say you have 4 spots (Smith, Wright, Powers, Young) locked in, and 3 guys (Davis, Price, Canady) fighting for 1 or 2 spots.  Arrington, Wilson, and Sam Brown all look like long shots at this moment.

While I'm not trying to say it's for sure one way or another, one thing I've noticed in some pictures is that a lot of our OLBers have been doing work with the DL.  Again, while it might not be a pure switch to a 4-3, it does seem like they're planning to play a bit more of it.  I've seen pictures of guys like Za'Darius, Judon, and Ochi lumped in with the big bodies.  Guys like Chris Carter and Brennen Beyer seem to be lumped in with the ILBers, as they would definitely fit better there.

We are one OLB short of having a 43 front with elite potential. I think you can live with 2 out of 3 lbs in a 43 being high caliber. I think this is something the team has been building up for a while and the pieces are finally in place. I think this season is still gonna show a hybrid but I think by next year we'll be primarily 43, it just makes far too much sense.

Even if Arthur brown continues to be bad in coverage and against the run, he, correa, and mosley, make a terrifying trio of blitzing lbs. There's some potential 1 dimensional issues in that line up but no 43 team would field a blitzing unit as dangerous as that.

I like reading stuff like this.

Weddle:

Quote

On which guys on offense have impressed him: “Mike Wallace has been outstanding. I’m trying to push him every day. We’re both in the same boat. We can’t have a day off; we can’t have a lackadaisical day out there. We’re out here to prove ourselves and add something to this team. Dennis [Pitta] looks great, [looks] fluid, makes everything that’s caught in his range. [He] looks explosive, athletic. The running backs – [Justin] Forsett, [wide receivers Kamar] Aiken, [Chris] Matthews – there are some talented guys out here. Breshad [Perriman], before Friday or Thursday, or whenever that happened, [looked great]. He’s been having outstanding OTAs and is just a great kid. We’ve got a lot of talented guys, and I’m sure they’re going to build and mesh. Once we get the big quarterback [Joe Flacco] back, he’ll be slinging that thing all around.”
