[News] Report: After Examination, Breshad Perriman May Return In 2016

60 posts in this topic

Get well soon BP! Grant Hill name keeps running through my mind Smh! The Ravens have so many WRs they don't need to sign anyone else! If Joe can't win with whom we have now Mallet needs to start IM TIRED OF EXCUSES! The Ravens beat the hottest team in football with BACKUPS on Offense!

We have solid TE's IF Max and Crockett can stay on the field and three proven receivers in SSS, Aiken, and Wallace. The rest are guys who can fill any NFL roster(maybe) and have yet to prove a thing. The roster really does not strike fear into any opponent at this point in time.

Sign Boldin...

I want them to sign Boldin too due to Perriman being out but l doubt Ozzie and company would do it. ?

Yep. Can never have to many WINNERS on a team who are DURABLE. Granted, not a stretch the field kind of guy just simply works on positioning and out battles the defense. Bad year last season. "ONLY" 69 receptions. A better option than most of our receivers other than SSS, Aiken, and Wallace.

Can't believe this organization is really attempting to put fans in another circus of hope that this guy will make the season. Can we just move on as if he's not playing. I understand that we have to have sympathy. But frank;y, Im not an NFL player, im not going to sugar coat things, im a fan who wants my team to WIN. and I'll continue to call things as I see em. And as of right now, we need to move on from this hope that he will make a comeback and somehow be that go to guy even though he hasn't even played an NFL game. Since Ray Lewis departed we have been going downhill. I expect them to be better. And it starts with manning up and telling the TRUTH. Perriman cannot make it in the NFL. Nothing against him as a man but his body is obviously telling him that he can't progress in the NFL. We've all taken losses in life, and we accept it and move on. I wish him the best.

OK there glass half empty lol .. I get your frustration but I suggest not writing this kid off as so many others already have. There was a time when we drafted a kid coming off a torn ACL. He played one season, then tears his other ACL. This guy helped us win a SB, set NFL records and all in all had pretty damn good career in the NFL, even with 2 ACL reconstructive surgeries under his belt.

I just hope for the sake of Perriman's own sanity he receives good news and is slated to return after being put on the PUP list. The kid needs that and I am rooting for that outcome.

It would be nice if he is placed on the PUP list so he can get on the field later in the year if he doesn't require reconstructive surgery.....

I remember that l wanted the Ravens to take Green-Beckham in the first round a big tall physical WR for Joe but Ozzie and crew didn't want to take him because of his domestic issues in college SMH. Now since he's with the Titans, l don't see any issues in the pros if l'm correct. Green-Beckham would've been our AJ. Green here and number 1 Wr. Ozzie should've draft him. ☹️ Ozzie need to take some chances sometimes in drafts.

Speed and height were the major reasons that I wanted them, too.  As for Smith, he was an amazing receiver at Ohio State and I thought that he could return punts for us.  Now I wasn't right, though because Funchess had 473 yards, Green-Beckham had 549 yards, but Smith had 115 yards.  The real performer was Lockette, a 3rd rounder, who racked up 664 yards and solidified his role as a returner, too.  Meanwhile, Cooper had 1,070 and White had exactly the same number of yards as Perriman--zero.

I agree now what if Myles Jack turn out to be a beast and Ozzie misses out on a talented LB as well.

...nobody cares about Perriman anymore, he gets hurt too easily. He and Campanella can share a hospital room. But at least Campanella made it on the field. It's nothing personal, but we need someone on the field not sitting on the bench. We care about him as a person, but not as a football player taking up a roster spot.

Agreed. The TEs r a good group. As r the RBs. But the WRs on this team are an average group. W/o the ability to stretch the field we are gunna find it tough to do anything, especially running the ball. So w Flacco/Perriman/Smith all recovering from major injury. Lets hope the Defense finds it's way back into the top 10 or else we in trouble ppl...also our special teams should be a plus too.

Another first round jem, at least Elam made it to game day. BP can't make it past OTAs before his body breaks down.

Daniel Brown!!!!!!!

Apples and oranges. Perriman is a deep threat, Brown is a typical possession receiver, much rather a slot receiver who can catch and hold on to the ball in traffic. I'm a Brown-fan myself, but I don't think his chances to make the 53 have improved with Perriman's injury - however long it keeps him off the field.

The only real difference this injury will cause IMHO, is in the number of Wallace's snaps. And we can start hoping like mad that Wallace won't get injured, of course... Because after him, it's a mid-round rookie we have at the "deep threat" position... and last season was a perfect example of what happens when the opponent's D doesn't have to seriously plan for deep Flacco-pombs against us...

This doesn't make the story a whole lot better, to be honest. Now we have the following unknowns:

- when he CAN come back
- when he WILL come back
- how much will his knee be healed?
- how much can his knee hold up?
- what type of roster spot will he take?
- will we have to bring in a replacement, or do we trust Wallace and especially rookie Chris Moore enough?
- when Perriman finally makes an appearance in a real NFL-game, how will we we trust his health?

"Luckily" Ozzie has at least neary two months to make the best decision. Also luckily, if Wallace pans out, Perriman's absence will have a much, much more insignificant effect on our O than it did last season.

Time to part ways with this young man. Really would have liked to see what he could do, but you actually have to set foot on the field to do that. Not blaming or criticizing him, it's just bad luck I suppose. Ravens can't afford to wait for him though. Had they kept Boldin, we would be having a different conversation.

No we wouldn't because then we would be talking about Boldin and Steve Smith retiring this season and we would be in a worse receiver situation. Injuries happen you can't predict him. Also Perriman when he gets healthy will produce more than Boldin. If Perriman is a starter before taking an NFL snap over Aiken who OUTPRODUCED Boldin last season in a back up role what does that tell you? Why do you think Boldin is not signed with a team? There is a reason. He is old and can only produce as a #3 receiver now at this point in his career. Injuries happen Jamaal Lewis came into the league with a torn ACL, played one season, then tore his ACL again. Injuries happen and it is unfortunate but ACL injuries are usually freak accidents.

The last thing this young man needs is to hear negative criticisms from the fanbase. Nobody saw any of this coming as he had nearly a perfect health record in college. Nothing the front office can do. The Ravens changed their conditioning program this season to try to prevent as many injuries. We just need to keep our fingers crossed that the rest of the team can stay healthy.

I feel for Perriman, but it he gets an injury just by catching passes, what will happen to him when he gets hit after he catches a pass? Remember Pita when he got his second injury without being hit. Some injuries mean you have to retire early and let the team go forward with healthy players! Believe me, been there-done that.

This is wrong on so many levels.

1- Part ways with this guy gives us over 5million in dead money, there is literally no point in cutting a first round draft pick that has a 4 year contract with a 5th year option a year and 1 month later.

2- BP is not the same type of WR as Boldin, BP was drafted to be the new Torrey Smith, if you cant see that then I don't know what you are looking at.

3- Injuries happen, you don't cut a guy just  because he gets injured in second year, especially a guy who gives you that much dead money.

I hope the procedure goes well. Please double up the stem cell shot or give him something else cause last year it did not work.

Add in the upside the guy brings to the offense if he comes back healthy... There is no good reason to cut him the next 3 seasons.

After last year's debacle on BP's status, I'm wondering how long it will take the FO to inform the public about today's results and prognosis.
