Wide receiver Breshad Perriman will reportedly have surgery Tuesday with Dr. James Andrews, and could ‘absolutely’ have a chance to return this season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. It depends on the severity of the tear.

He wont be back. He's a slow healer and that not his fault. Just get it right and heal up properly. Is it the same knee as last year ???Only thing that's not cool , Ravens lose 2 years off of his contract. Now that's not cool. Hang in there Breshad.

I don't think he will make it back this season either. It is the other knee this time. I really wish him well though and he is still young, so I'm not giving up on him.

*sigh* He needs all the help he can get.

Also, the writer made an error and called him a "2014 first-round pick," when we got him in 2015.

Don't get our hopes up with this article. We've seen it every year. Any person injured in my eyes are done for the year until I see a working body on that field. At this point, I wouldn't blame the rookies if they were scared to come here. We hadn't had a good health track record in a while.

Name me a team that doesn't have at least a few major injuries every year. It's just part of pro football. The Ravens are no more cursed than anyone else. If a rookie is scared of being injured, he's in the wrong business. It's sad about Perriman, but these things happen. I hope he can recover from this setback both physically and mentally.

Quote

Tuesday’s surgery will be minimally invasive and will determine whether Perriman will need full ACL reconstruction.

So basically, they don't know yet if he needs a full ACL reconstructive surgery or not.

"We hadn't had a good health track record in a while".

Based on WHAT?

I would agree that this article really does not provide hope or optimism at this point. Additionally, even is the injury falls under best case scenario, with Perriman's knees/condition, would you really rush him back while potentially making him susceptible to re-injury?

No knock on Perriman, you cannot control injuries, even if you take prevention to the Nth degree.

At this point WR competition should really heat up. Looking forward to seeing who wants a starting gig. Also wishfully hoping Wallace can return to his old form to provide a solid deep threat.

Based on the amount of injuries we had over three or four seasons.

Of course teams have injuries, but we have an obscene amount for more than one season. If an obscene of amount of injuries keep occurring from a common place, you would be a little concerned about said place regardless of whether it happens a few times on other teams.

I much rather that we had traded down and taken Devin Smith in the early second round.  If not him, then we could have had Funchess or Green-Beckham.  If all else failed we could have gotten Tyler Lockette when he was on the board in the 2nd round.  What we got was another kid with potential who will be half way through his rookie contract without ever having played a down in the NFL.  I know that hindsight is 20-20, etc., so hold off on the negatives,

Another factor is that when you injure one knee you tend to stress the other one during rehab by putting extra weight on it and favoring it.

Can't believe this organization is really attempting to put fans in another circus of hope that this guy will make the season. Can we just move on as if he's not playing. I understand that we have to have sympathy. But frank;y, Im not an NFL player, im not going to sugar coat things, im a fan who wants my team to WIN. and I'll continue to call things as I see em. And as of right now, we need to move on from this hope that he will make a comeback and somehow be that go to guy even though he hasn't even played an NFL game. Since Ray Lewis departed we have been going downhill. I expect them to be better. And it starts with manning up and telling the TRUTH. Perriman cannot make it in the NFL. Nothing against him as a man but his body is obviously telling him that he can't progress in the NFL. We've all taken losses in life, and we accept it and move on. I wish him the best.

The signing of Wallace and drafting of Moore looks brilliant right now, too.

Now that I've calmed down, my mind is back at whats most important for this team. DEFENSE. Let us not forget that we need to keep our eyes on these guys we have on defense. Because these guys have a lot to prove after last season.

According to the BR.com article through ESPN's Schefter and NFL's Rapoport, what we do know at this point:

1) "A medical re-check with Dr. James Andrews revealed that Perriman “may not have a significant ACL tear,” per ESPN’s Adam Schefter."

2) "Perriman will still undergo surgery Tuesday to repair the tear, and once Andrews gets a closer look, he and the Ravens will know more."

3) "According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tuesday’s surgery will be minimally invasive and will determine whether Perriman will need full ACL reconstruction."

Well that is a small glimmer of hope for Perriman, and at this point I am sure he could use it.  But he is in great hands with Dr. Andrews.  Hope the damage is not significant and will not require a full reconstruction but they won't know until they take a peek.   Hoping for the best for the young man, he could surely use a break at this juncture.  My thoughts are with ya Breshad and wishing for a speedy recovery! :baltimore-ravens:

I remember that l wanted the Ravens to take Green-Beckham in the first round a big tall physical WR for Joe but Ozzie and crew didn't want to take him because of his domestic issues in college SMH. Now since he's with the Titans, l don't see any issues in the pros if l'm correct. Green-Beckham would've been our AJ. Green here and number 1 Wr. Ozzie should've draft him. ☹️ Ozzie need to take some chances sometimes in drafts.

Sign Boldin...

I want them to sign Boldin too due to Perriman being out but l doubt Ozzie and company would do it. ?

he seems to be a slow healer so a small tear could take like 2 years years in his case. hehehe. i do not feel confident that he will ever live to his 1st rd. status. hopefully wallace resurrects his career and some of the other young guys step up big time. sss is old and this offense cannot expect him to be the #1 receiver

Get well soon BP! Grant Hill name keeps running through my mind Smh! The Ravens have so many WRs they don't need to sign anyone else! If Joe can't win with whom we have now Mallet needs to start IM TIRED OF EXCUSES! The Ravens beat the hottest team in football with BACKUPS on Offense!
