To me it's a no brainer, bring back the Playmaker Anquan Boldin. Harbs will just have to get over whatever it is with Boldin we need him. He knows Flacco and would be a good move the chains guy. Besides all that having the 2 toughest wideout Smith and Boldin on the same team would be AWESOME!!!!!

Ridiculous notion.

Not ridiculous. If Perriman wasn't out than signing Boldin would be ridiculous but by having Perriman out for the rest of the season than signing a veteran like Boldin would be a good pickup. He's the best available WR at this point if Ozzie once to take that route.

I like the idea of bring Boldin too lets get him back on a one or two year deal. Hope Ozzie listen to this he's a great veteran. ?

Really ?

Sure why not? Perriman is out and Boldin is welcome to join the Ravens for one last ride and plus l want to see Boldin and Steve Smith on the same field just one time. That's l want to see for sure. If the price is right l really don't see why the Ravens don't want him unless it's Harbaugh. ?

Ray Lewis will be the only last ride the Ravens will give.

I guarantee the Ravens want to give Steve Smith a championship before he retires just like Ray and would love to have Boldin along with it. Got one last shot for Steve Smith. ?

Reading this comments thread makes me really glad that 95% of this board aren't working in the front office

1.  No - we're not cutting Perriman.  Not this year, and almost definitely not next year either.  And probably not the year after that.  He's extremely cheap and still has a ton of potential.  We don't even know for sure if he needs surgery yet.  If he does and it was only a partial tear, there's still at least a chance that he goes on the PUP list and comes back to play the last 6-8 games.  If he was activated at that point it'd be almost 6 months, which isn't unheard of for a partial tear as far as I can tell.

2.  Anquan Boldin is not the answer.  There's no good reason to bring on a 36 year old receiver who can't separate from defensive backs.  He was phenomenal during our Super Bowl run, but he's really not that much better than Kamar Aiken is at this point in his career - they're actually very, very similar receivers even though Boldin was obviously a better player in his prime.

This is sad for Perriman, but there's still a chance he could come back from this and be a good player.

Perriman will never hit the field in a real game for the Ravens. Sorry, but that's reality.

I agree. It's tough enough to play in the NFL with two good knees but with two bad knees without being hit? Perriman's future doesn't look promising. Too bad for him and the Ravens.

Well, providing "one last ride" for anybody would never be in Ozzie's equation- unless the guy can still contribute. I'll bet Joe wouldn't be unhappy yo see Boldin here, though.

Forget Boldin, That will will never happen. This is John's team now. Also forget Perriman speed that too has gone out the window. Remember this is still a business not a charity which means you think with your head not your heart.

It's terrible news for the young man and the team. I hope that his examination goes as well as can be expected and that he comes back stronger. It's not on him.

Can you ever have enough proven WINNERS on your team? I say bring in Boldin now. Granted, he's not a stretch the field kind of receiver, just somebody who is a WINNER, great locker room guy, durable, and btw will "Only" catch 65 balls.

Umm, no...

He caught 65 passes four years ago on this team when he was basically our #1 WR. There's no scenario where he would be that on this team, nor would I want to see him taking snaps over guys like Smith, Aiken or even Wallace, who bring more to the table.

He's a "winner" because the teams that he plays on wins. That's what makes him a winner. When the team he plays on doesn't win (which has happened often in his career), then he's not a "winner".

I see Aiken, Wallace and Moore headlining our receiving corps. Smith might make it back sometime, but, after a serious ligament tear you need at least 2 years to recoup in order to play at a top level. This year Steve will be inspirational motivation for the team and us fans ,but, not the physical player of past.

I certainly believe we will be a ground and pound team this season, using a great stable of backs and a top tier Te group.

Official?... Too bad. =\ Good thing we have depth and tight ends.
