[News] Reports: Breshad Perriman Partially Tears ACL

Disappointing but can't miss what you have never had. The Ravens have some good receivers and Chris Moore looked like the real deal in films. As for Perriman, hope that he gets well and is able to play. Tough break for him and the Ravens.

He would fit the profile of an aging veteran that we could get for a low price. Besides, he knows the system and could fit right into the slot. On the other hand, do we go with what we have and hope for the best? I'm curious how Reynolds will do in the slot.  I'm sure that Ozzie is seeking out a trade for another receiver before training camp already.

Can you ever have enough proven WINNERS on your team? I say bring in Boldin now. Granted, he's not a stretch the field kind of receiver, just somebody who is a WINNER, great locker room guy, durable, and btw will "Only" catch 65 balls.

Disappointed for him mostly.  I had just said in a previous post that I didn't think injuries were going to be as much a problem this year.  So much for wishful thinking.

This may come as a shock to some, but for us fans it's still just a game that we enjoy to watch as spectators or even give opinions on, which is fine.  However, this game is this man's livelihood.  You might even say his dream.  As stated before, he has gone through so much already perhaps more than any of us at this stage in his life.  If anything, we should be thinking of him.  That is if we are truly fans.  If anything, we should be praying for his mentality and spirit as well as his injury to get better.  I will say this: things happen for a reason.  It is possible that he might not play, but there's also the possibility that God has something else in mind.  Something even better.  Prayers to Breshad.

I'm hoping that happens by end of the day. Can you ever have enough WINNERS on your team?

This might be the best post I have seen in this thread. I applaud thinking like this.

To me it's a no brainer, bring back the Playmaker Anquan Boldin. Harbs will just have to get over whatever it is with Boldin we need him. He knows Flacco and would be a good move the chains guy. Besides all that having the 2 toughest wideout Smith and Boldin on the same team would be AWESOME!!!!!

I like the idea of bring Boldin too lets get him back on a one or two year deal. Hope Ozzie listen to this he's a great veteran. ?

Wow,
I can't imagine what he and his family are going through right now, especially after all he's already been through. Its got to be heartbreaking for him.
If he keeps a good attitude, He'll come out the other side of this a stronger person.
Good Luck BP!

Well, it is only partially torn, there's still 3 months before the first game, he may not need surgery, and ACL injuries are increasingly becoming easier to come back from. Lets hope for the best, maybe he just won't be able to play week 1, but a return somewhere within the first 4 weeks would be great and i think it's very possible, plus we have Mike Wallace and Chris Moore to fill his spot so i'm not too worried about the offense's production, I'm just dissapointed that this is now his second year on the team, and we've only seen him catching passes in shorts. He has no nfl game experience whatsoever and he's expected to play a big part of the team, but i don't see it.

Someone said, can you say Dan Cody, Dan Cody.
Chris Matthews, Jeremy Butler, Daniel Brown, this right here is your golden opportunity. Seize it!!

Really? Why not? You don't like proven winners? IF the price is right Boldin would be a great fit on a team that needs as much toughness and attitude it can find. That, and forgot the part about 65 receptions.

You can never have to many WINNERS on a team. If it's not for the Ravens "Q" will be a great addition to any roster who is looking to add a durable, great in the locker room guy who brings mental toughness along with 65+ receptions.

Sure why not? Perriman is out and Boldin is welcome to join the Ravens for one last ride and plus l want to see Boldin and Steve Smith on the same field just one time. That's l want to see for sure. If the price is right l really don't see why the Ravens don't want him unless it's Harbaugh. ?

I agree. Let's make Boldin and Steve Smith Sr have one last ride at a championship. ?

Reading this comments thread makes me really glad that 95% of this board aren't working in the front office

1.  No - we're not cutting Perriman.  Not this year, and almost definitely not next year either.  And probably not the year after that.  He's extremely cheap and still has a ton of potential.  We don't even know for sure if he needs surgery yet.  If he does and it was only a partial tear, there's still at least a chance that he goes on the PUP list and comes back to play the last 6-8 games.  If he was activated at that point it'd be almost 6 months, which isn't unheard of for a partial tear as far as I can tell.

2.  Anquan Boldin is not the answer.  There's no good reason to bring on a 36 year old receiver who can't separate from defensive backs.  He was phenomenal during our Super Bowl run, but he's really not that much better than Kamar Aiken is at this point in his career - they're actually very, very similar receivers even though Boldin was obviously a better player in his prime.

This is sad for Perriman, but there's still a chance he could come back from this and be a good player.

Boldin obviously was never the kind of receiver who got separation. He just continually wins battles and had been catching over 70 balls a season for a long time.(Sorry, last season was "Only" 69). Simply stated IF, "THAT IF" you can get him for the right price why not bring in a PROVEN WINNER. Let's be realistic, Butler, Waller, Matthews, etc. are the second coming of Tanden Doss, David Reed, Aaron Millette, and all those other WR's who were all "Making Plays" wearing a jersey and shorts.

There's no logic in bringing back Boldin. At this stage in his career, he is a possession WR. Our roster is full of possession WRs with the exception of Wallace and Moore. Obviously SSS is the best all around WR in the NFL (him and Antonio Brown) if he can return and play to the level he played last year.
The real need is a WR that can consistently stretch the defense. Wallace hasn't consistently done that. Moore is unproven in the NFL even though he has a great potential. Bringing Boldin into a crowded WR corps full of young guys that can play underneath for a fraction of the money is something I'm almost certain the front office won't do.

Boldin at the right price, say 3 mill would be a far better fit then all these young guys who are the second coming of Tanden Doss, David Reed, and Aaron Millette to name a few.

Ray Lewis will be the only last ride the Ravens will give.

Seriously, time to cut bait. Think what you want, 2 years not on the field pretty much sums up what Ravens fans can expect from Perriman... Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

Perriman will never hit the field in a real game for the Ravens. Sorry, but that's reality.
