Try to read it all the way through. This affected him as an adolescent and it is a condition, not an injury. OS probably only affects adolescents because of puberty and growth spurts, but it affects the patellar tendon, not ligaments, anyway.

This story also talks about it during middle school mostly, it sounds like. So again, no college injury history to speak of.

He did not compete at the combine cuz of injury.

Perriman didn't participate at the NFL Combine due to a hamstring injury, it wasn't due to a knee injury as you implied.  Later in March of 2015 he came back at his Pro Day to run two sub 4.3 40 yrd. dashes.

Sometimes things just happen, lol.

well Klay was a very good returner, Mathews played well with limited snaps and was a SB stud for Seattle, and Butler has shown a lot of game........So having said that, they have proven more than Perriman since they have played in NFL games....Our top 4 now should be Wallace,Smith,Aiken, and Moore...With 2-3 spots open for Butelr, Mathews, Brown and Camp and Reynolds to fight for......

Some of these posts are hilariously negative and reaching for reasons to throw the FO under the bus,  it's the same people as always,  no suprise. BmoreBird22 hit it perfectly so I won't even say anything.

Trying to look on the bright side,  this could give more reps to guys like Moore, Reynolds,  Butler,  and hell,  maybe even Camp.   Injuries are part of the game,  it sucks,  but no one can account for them,  some people just need to chill and have a glass of scotch or something.

The MRI showed a possible torn meniscus, which for college and professional athletes usually results in having the meniscus reattached and requires a lengthy rehabilitation period.

Maryland basketball player Dion Wiley sustained a torn meniscus prior to the opening of the 2015-16 season. Wiley missed the entire season and only recently was cleared to resume workouts.

This couldn't be farther from the truth. A meniscus tear is fairly common and one of the more minor soft tissue tears(if there is a minor tear)that can occur in the knee joint. Depending on severity, many play through the pain until there is a convenient time to get the repair done, which is usually a trimming of the tear, not a "re attachment".  Anquan Boldin entered training camp in 2011 with a meniscus tear, played through most of the season, had the repair done with two games remaining and then returned two weeks later for the playoffs.

To be frank I'm not sure this discussion is relevant anyway. Isn't Perriman's injury an ACL?  and I don't know much about Dion Wiley but would venture a guess that there were other factors that precluded him from being on the Terps 2015 roster. Maybe a red shirt strategy?

we can't even begin to realize the worth of this guy since he has yet to get on the field in a game. I just hope that he is not another Dan Cody who stayed around for years and never did play a game for the Ravens. Seems we have a knack for picking this type of player who seems snake bitten.

Man I can't believe this... What a shame. I'm curious if we will ever see this guy play. But the amount of injuries Perriman sustained in this short time is scary.

Everyone feels bad for Breshad. As for the Ravens this comes as no surprise. They knew, half way through last season, his return was highly questionable. He has proved nothing on the football field, and will probably go down as the worst 1st round pick ever. That's it........move on.....no more about Breshad; at least until he is on the field in a real NFL game. Last season Perriman, Perryman, Perriman.....nothing, nothing, nothing. Not this season. Lets move on right away while wishing him the best.

Sad. I hope he gets to play, but I don't think he ever will. Two knees already, pretty unlikely he'll run even close to 4.3 again.

First and foremost, what a shame for Perriman... seems like a really good kid and he just simply doesn't deserve this, absolutely devastating. Some quick takes:
A. there's a lot of really dumb people out there based upon the comments in this thread.. you know who you are
B. for the guy that mentioned the "rock star" team to the south... get a Redskins jersey
C. Good thing we picked up Wallace
D. Hope Chris Moore is a quick study
E. Come on Camp, get it together
F. Waller back to WR ?
G. Chin up BP, we'll see you in 2017 !

Folks need to put this in its proper perspective:  Perriman isn't at fault here and I am sure he must be absolutely devastated.  He injured his right knee in his first year, he lost one of his best friends in Tray Walker, and by his own admission he said he was in "a dark place" after those two events, now his Dad is recuperating from a very debilitating stoke and currently he has sustained an injury to his left knee.  I would think a little compassion is due here as I think he has had enough to deal with without folks taking their frustration out on him.   How about a little moral support for the guy?  It isn't his fault.  There are other WR's out there, plus our own.  My goodness,  c'mon people.

Well put Grapple. Perriman had been through a rough enough time before this new injury happened. My heart goes out to him big time..

I felt we would never see him on the field,I was hooping I was wrong. This will allow someone else to step up and seize the moment, I hope he does!!! . . whomever he is. We need two deep threats.

Think about what this kid has been through in the last year. Drafted in the first round with tremendous hope. Coached from a young age by Michael Irvin. He gets a PCL first day of TC. His best friend on the team who helped bring him back from the depression about the injury is killed in a horrible and tragic bike accident. Then his father suffers a brain aneurysm, nearly dies, and is still in the in patient facility in recovery for it. Finally he gets back to the one thing he loves, is doing well, everyone saying how good he looks, and finds his knee swelling up and on MRI that he has another partly torn Knee ligament. So he has to go through this all over again but this time with a shattered support network. Devastated isn't strong enough of a word for what he must be going through. If you pray now seems like the time.

If we can grab Boldin at the right price I say we bring him back. Granted, not a burner at the receiver position, but simply a VERY DURABLE player who is a WINNER. I'd rather grab him ahead of time, instead of watching Q grab another 65 balls for another team. He will wind up on an NFL roster. Can you ever have enough WINNERS on your team? Lets be realistic. A lot of the WR's we have on the roster are players you can find on every NFL team. Mediocre to good at best.

Well, this sucks. I was hoping to see what he is capable of this year (and still may depending on the injury). There is no bright side to this, but it does open up opportunities for others. If a roster spot is opened by Perriman going on IR, it will give those in a crowded WR corps the ability to receive snaps they may not have had otherwise. In other positions, the opening of a roster spot could mean making the team or not. The idea of having 4 TE now seems more practical than before since Waller is kind of a hybrid TE/WR. NO MORE INJURIES! lol, I know that's near impossible, but hey it can't hurt being hopeful :) GO RAVENS! 25

This kid needs to play somewhere else the Ravens are a curse to him besides, some one else with better body will beat him out by experience and valuable playing time.

As soon as I read this headline all I could think was "no way..." Awful for the Ravens, and it couldn't happen to a better guy. There's nobody on this team I'd like to see succeed more than Breshad, this just sucks man. I hope injuries don't define his story

Imagine if Perriman gets hit:

Balt Sun: The injury apparently occurred after Perriman caught a pass on a back shoulder fade during one of the drills, went down without any contact and continued to practice.

Thats two knees in less than a year for a player who hasn't played one game. If he injures himself without even getting hit, imagine the injuries he'll get when does get hit- Honestly, this young man deserves better, and like Pitta, I hope he battles through it. We need to get someone else though to start picking during drafts- I think now it's a given, esp after we took a soft left tackle and the other tackle in Miami is really impressing everyone- Oz can read the twitter feeds on prospects all day, it doesn't take a genius to do that, but remember, we were all kids in college once, and we all did stupid things..

Wallace and Moore are "hope guys". If Wallace did it that well he would not have been available and Moore is a rookie.

To me it's a no brainer, bring back the Playmaker Anquan Boldin. Harbs will just have to get over whatever it is with Boldin we need him. He knows Flacco and would be a good move the chains guy. Besides all that having the 2 toughest wideout Smith and Boldin on the same team would be AWESOME!!!!!

Lets be realistic, our roster of WR's gives us Mike Wallace, SSS, and Aiken, along with the second coming of Tanden Doss, David Reed, and Aaron Millette. Continuing to "Load Up" on all those 4th and 5th rounders gives you a middle of the road roster. Average to good players, NOT impact players.

Still 6 weeks out from training camp, and already the major injuries have started in Baltimore. Frustrating...

Well, considering Kamar Aiken had more Catches, more Yards & more TD's than either Torrey Smith or Anquan Boldin (despite both of them making over $8 million per season), I would say that worked out much better. More production and a $16 million cap savings....

I don't know if they can save any money by getting rid of him now, but they have to do it. How 'bout Smith, Wallace, Aiken, Moore and Reynolds with Watson, Gillmore, Pitta and Williams. Of course it's early, but I believe Moore, Reynolds, Gillmore and Williams can still play special teams (not returner).

All of the above. I would take a flyer at Bolden if the price is right.

We haven't seen the ceiling with Aiken yet now that we have Wallace on the outside stretching the field.

Has Boldin signed yet.

He would fit the profile of an aging veteran that we could get for a low price. Besides, he knows the system and could fit right into the slot. On the other hand, do we go with what we have and hope for the best? I'm curious how Reynolds will do in the slot.  I'm sure that Ozzie is seeking out a trade for another receiver before training camp already.

Can someboday say, Dan Cody

I was thinking Sergio Kindle. I really wanted Lockett and Diggs in that draft. Diggs, I was almost certain, we would have drafted. Another backyard loss!
