[News] Reports: Breshad Perriman Partially Tears ACL

159 posts in this topic

If this turns out to be another season ending injury, it has to devastating to his career. I don't know any player that has had a successful career after starting the first 2 yrs on IR. By the time he takes the field if ever, his dashing 4.24 40 speed would be just something of historical mention.

Welker comes in and Perriman gets a torn ACL. I know it's not true but I can't be the only one thinking #patriotssleeperagent

I hate to say this but I'm not one bit surprised. Another young player that sees how easy it is to get paid to "be injured" instead of actually playing for that paycheck. The NFL needs to change some rules. You don't play you don't get your full salary. This guy will never play a down as long as he gets paid not too.

man i'm not even mad tbh, he's fast but that is about all we know about him in terms of actual NFL skill, at this point he is pretty much on the long list of disappointing picks at WR.

According to the report, MRI shows a partial tear of his Left knee ACL. He was injured according to the report also while practicing at the Ravens OTA. He suffered the injury while attempting a fade catch, and had swelling the following day. There's been multiple reports on how devastated it has been for him not playing his rookie year. Your argument does not hold water. In fact if it turns out that he would be out for the rest of the season, he would rightfully get his full salary.

Could his luck be any worse, I feel terrible, very sad for him. Sad for Ravens fans too. I was looking very much forward to see him get a second chance at showing his speed and skills. So sad for him.

I'm trying to be optimistic here, but it's a partial tear at the end of the 2nd week of June. He still has enough time to heal up and be ready for the season if Dr. Andrews gives the go ahead. Logan Mankins played an entire season with a torn ACL in 2011. Hopefully Perriman's injury isn't that severe and he's ready to suit up come week 1 on Sept 10th

So much for the new Injury Recovery program. Stronger, healthier players. Not! Another 1st Round bust. Sorry that may seem cruel but I expect the 1st rounders to be starters.Back to due diligence and someone didn't do theirs. Here it goes again........

Yeah, you're right. He's probably faking it. NOT!

I'm hoping this is a minor injury and Perriman is able to come back and play soon. Not holding my breath, just hoping!

How does this happen repeatedly? This is just OTA's running around in shorts and really No contact! Is he just fragile, snake bit or is it something else? I honestly feel for the guy and I am mad that once again we hear glowing reports of speed on the outside and once again failing to deliver.

Second case of knee ligament damage for him, this time a different ligament, apparently. I know we'll have to wait for the medical exam by the experts. Still, it does make you wonder if he has weak ligaments everywhere? Wonder why this didn't show up in college?

I'm finding it hard to see your conspiracy angle. This young man has got to be devastated. Rookie contracts are peanuts compared to what he would make if happens to play well and get to the point of getting his second contract. He has nothing to gain by faking injury. By the way, you can't fake the injury on MRI. You can't fake a swollen knee. If you've ever played sports, whether pro or not, there's nothing worse than not being able to compete.
