Heartbreaking.  Feel really bad for the kid.  I was excited to see what he could do this year too.

its hard to count out steve smith, but its even harder to imagine he just comes back without skipping a beat, its hard to imagine he even returns for week 1.

you can talk about his heart all you want, but he has been slowed by injuries before, its part of why he was released from carolina.

Steve Smith is a warrior and will be fine. Signing Mike Wallace and drafting Chris Moore shows how much faith the FO put in Perriman's durability and was absolutely the right decision to make. With Flacco, you always want 2 deep threats available on Sunday's to keep teams honest, and open up the offense. Last year we only had Perriman and he got hurt. In 2016 we started with 3, and hopefully Wallace and Moore can fill the void that haunted us last season. Don't forget Aiken is a baller. He will continue to improve playing with SSR and Flacco.

I wish we never drafted this guy. I didnt like him as a prospect and now he's not even showing he can even get on the field. What a wasted pick.

Oh yeah. Ozzie should have predicted an acl tear for a guy with no previous injury?  That's silly

It won't matter in Perriman's case.  He won't be practicing in camp in training camp obviously, so he'll go on the PUP and we'll reevaluate at that point.  No need to use the IR for him.

Yes thanks for clearing that up. I was just thinking of IR.

ANother Ozzie bust. He keeps getting these players that are made of glass. He must go if this draft fails again.

Lord have mercy, this news makes me sick to my stomach. It seems we can't win when it comes to injuries.

Is he available. If so, then I say yes grab him.

I don't think he's ever spoken about it, but I would if I was him. NOT one of our finer moments.

I wonder if this opens up a door for Waller at WR again.  Because I can't see him making the team at TE.

Also, interesting to see people already saying we won't make the playoffs now because of no Perriman......after spending all last year calling Perriman a bust anyway.  It's really obvious who just likes to complain.

Meanwhile, I'll still pretend we have Mike Wallace, Chris Moore, and another 2+ months to fill in any needed gaps because, well, we do.

What?  So the loss of Perriman changes your opinion that drastically?  Why?  I only expected him to be a third wr. Make some big plays. He was essentially a raw rookie who fell way behind. Doesn't change my opinion on the wr core. It was ok before. It's ok now.

lol... no.

we had a injured 35 year old, a speedster who hasnt played at a high level in 3 years, kamar aiken, and breshad perriman.

in terms of real talent and youth combined, perriman is lightyears beyond everyone in that list. even if he hasnt taken an nfl snap yet, theres a reason he was drafted in the first round. dont kid yourself lol, he wasnt a 3rd wr, he would have been our #1 by years end if he was healthy. 6'2" 220 lb guys who run a 4.3 and can leap and contort to make spectacular deep catches dont come a dime a dozen.

has perriman proven himself on an nfl level yet? no. but he doesnt need to for sensible fans to realize that our wr corps takes a huge hit with this loss.

Yeah hes probably heartbroken. All these ppl screaming Bust..ofcourse he heard all of the talk and was finally Ready to prove the Naysayers wrong. He was depressed last year..imagine how he feels now. He knows what the fans are thinking And he Probably feels like he let his team down. Just sucks. I was Really hoping this was a joke..Kid hasnt Even barely made it to training camp. What a damn bummer. Well thats One more roster spot Open. Waller may be in luck.

He was a hired gun. He wasn't done wrong by us even in the trade which is why he never expressed any ill will

Seriously?  Why?  Because his skill set is so similar?  If we actually needed a vet Roddy White is available.

being a warrior doesnt miraculously heal a 35 year old torn achilles tendon. hate to break it to ya.

I think they will take a closer look at Daniel Brown.....big strong dude with good hands.

now we need Kamar Aiken to step it up again and Wallace and Smith do well along with Chris Moore, then we shall be fine.  I know this is a lot to ask, but maybe just maybe this lights a fire under both Reynolds and Moore and Camp can stay healthy.

The front office needs to begin to plan like Perriman isn't on the team, players who don't play football for two years straight end jointly playing like 6 games a season when healthy. Time to move.

What's so bad to me is the guy hasn't even made it to a full pad practice yet. He hasn't had a single day of training camp or a preseason snap. Boom devastating injuries.

Like a cruel joke:(

Since it's a partially torn acl he may still play this season.Justin Houston is dealing with the same thing and he's expected to play

When your other options are

Steve Smith coming off an achilles tear at 37

Kamar Aiken

And Mike Wallace who really hasn't done anything great since 2011

Yea, I agree with him. Hopefully Moore and Wallace step up, but im not holding out much hope.

Young kid unfortunately tears his acl in non contact and this is all you think of?  Just sad. Have to feel for the kid at this point

No Roddy White's sucked for the past 2 years. Boldin is essentially a slower and taller Steve smith at this point.

Boldin over white?  Lol. Not that I'm condoning either. Because neither offers anything our current guys don't have. Not sure why there's so much sky is falling fit this one?  Personally I had minimal expectations. The receivers were ok before and ok now. What matters is Flaccos recovery.

You know they won't though, I mean look at Pitta guy got a contract extension coming off a devastating hip injury. Gets re-injured.

* I said back then they shouldn't have paid him because he only had 1 season with decent production and the injury combined unknown.

Highly doubtful Knowing our luck. aiken? I know we Didnt have much in the stable last year but he Was our leading receiver and barely missed 1000 yards..and that was playing half the season with schaub, clausen And mallet.

Yeah I'd be shocked if Perriman plays a full season in the NFL . 16 straight games . Ain't gonna happen .

Word is the injury was non-contact too .
