Breshad Perriman - Partially Torn ACL?

I hope this isn't like last year where they save a spot on him on the 53 and we let someone valuable go or place early on IR (mike camp) only to find out he ain't returning anytime soon.

Campanaro needed to go on ir. He needs to get his body right and also learn to protect himself better. I remember the play that put him down, I knew it right away and it was fully self inflicted. He unnecessarily dove into multiple defenders and folded up like an accordion.

I remember the outrage over camp getting ir'ed while we waited for perriman, and it never made sense. That kid has no business rushing injuries.

Ground hogs day...

Good news tho.   Hope he's able to maintain health for his own good.

Gonna be honest... I really wish they wouldn't put a timetable on his return. I'm glad he'll play in 2016, but please, no expectations for a return date.

Lightning doesn't strike twice in the same spot does it?.... Does it?

He didn't specify which year though.... ;)

Well there is good news after all, now I'm hoping recovery won't be similar to last year... I'm glad the team sent him straight to Dr. Andrews this early rather than waiting half the season like last year.

Hopefully he has no setbacks and can finally see action on the field this season.

Not Done yet!  We now hear he may have possibilities to play this season.  He looked good in the team video.

I hope he doesn't join the Sergio Kendall club.

Actually what we heard is that he WILL play this season and should be back by training camp. Whether or not it actually happens is the question.

Isn't that what he said last year?

Yes. But...

The injury happened IN training camp. and they didn't know what injury he had ar all(or just didn't disclose it).

Well, again, the difference is that the Harbaugh prematurely made those comments and only had team doctors look at him.

In this situation, probably the most renowned orthopedic surgeon in the world with no Ravens interest in mind has probably put that timetable up.

Hey guys, I've been gone for a while, busy with School and Work. I'll chip in my opinion on this.

Shockingly, I'm not much concerned with this injury as opposed to last. Perriman's PCL fiasco was evaluated by team doctors, he got this injury option from one of the top doctors in the business if not the top doc. I really think he will play this year honestly and we shouldn't panic until maybe Pre-season. On the topic of rust, I think he has a general idea of the offense. I think the main focus should be reconditioning him back to form honestly, I still think he has plenty to contribute and no, I don't think his injury will be detrimental if he doesn't have an ACL tear.

Lets not forget, last year he was close to returning until he hurt himself during a pre-game warm up.

Perriman has now had two non contact knee injuries without ever playing a down in the NFL. Probably the worst possible scenario you could want out of a first rounder.

Many people want to be extreme optimists but this type of repeated stuff is not good at all for his future in the NFL. I'd like to be optimistic with my purple shades on but I do not see Perriman lasting many years in the NFL.

But a long clean bill of health prior to 2 freak injuries prior would suggest otherwise.

Neither knee injury is severe, one just had bad timing and was rushed and made worse, the other is just really a glorified sprain and is being treated is the most natural and non invasive way.

If it was in the same knee then I'd be concerned. But they really are just 2 separate isolated incidents. These things happen all the time and one injury per knee just doesn't seem like injury prone to me.

If I were Perriman I would just take it easy for the next month and get multiple treatments and ease back into it. The worst thing to do when a minor injury happens is to rush back because that causes the major ones

This injury was from a non-contact drill?  like previous injury...wasnt it?:D

Understandable in all honesty.  I can agree with what you said in a sense, But its just hard to judge the situation since he played 3 years in college with no issues.  Its just an overall odd situation, but I do know when/if he makes it on the field....anytime they show him running a route, im going to be scared.

Well, the Ravens have had players with multiple major injuries in the past return and play well, like Jamal Lewis. Had a season ending knee injury in college, and during his sophomore year with the Ravens. The year after he missed a whole season though he ran for over two thousand yards.

So realistically we should expect 2,000 receiving yds!!!!

This makes me really question our doctors. First they say he had a minor knee injury that eventually put him on the IR, and now they say he has a partially-torn ACL and is probably done for the year, and then he goes to Dr. Andrews and he says he'll be good for training camp. What the Hell? Sounds like we need to look at getting new doctors because these guys are not doing well.

Makes you curious what is really going on. Do not believe these doctors are really this clueless regarding him every time he is injured. Everybody else it is clear and direct. Would not be shocked if he is injured again before the regular season.
