[News] Late For Work 6/8: John Harbaugh Didn't Mince Words About Ronnie Stanley, But Opened Other Questions

If we go into the 2016 season with Forsett as our starting RB we better get ready for another disappointing run game. Forsett is ok as a 1st string RB, but he is much more valuable as a 2nd string one-two punch.

Sucks remembering the fact that Flacco is still rehabbing.

But there's a definite silver lining there: first, he got injured in the middle of a season that was down the drain anyway - so he probably even helped the team by letting Schaub and Clausen secure some L's, pushing us higher on the draft order; second, all signs point towards him being 100% by the time it starts to matter.
Not to mention the potential added benefit that the time he had to miss may have helped developing a kind of football hunger for him - which is seldom a bad thing...

Yeah, he definitely didn't shine in his only complete season with us... "amassing" a meager 1266 yards... 1500+ all-purpose yards... 8 TD's... and a Pro Bowl selection... and all this only really securing the starting role around week 3-4...

Seriously, I won't be mad if he goes on having a similar season... But, if any of the other guys outperform him, then hey... all the better for the Ravens Nation, isn't it?

Between yesterday's comment and this one, you are just full of optimism. And like yesterday, you are dead wrong.

I like Forsett and like him to do good,
but,,,, I am a big fan of kenneth dixon and to be honest
trent richardson, this is who I am rooting for,
no matter who is in the backfield,
This can be the best RAVENS offense

Funny picture: Flacco and Pitta show up on opening day with handicap tags, then go out and rack up three touchdowns. :)

Forsett has been doubted his entire career, and with this crop of RB's we have, he is being doubted again....I hope he shines in camp and wins the job, but the talent we have at that position is so deep with potential....IMO i think this will be his last year, and i also think a talented back will find his way on IR before the season starts, so we protect him for next year....JMO...

Never get excited about guys looking good and making plays in a jersey and shorts. News came out of Jets camp that Geno Smith looks good. That's should give you everything you need to know about OTA's.

He was great when Kubes came on board. After a while teams figure it out and ruin the fun. I think he has the quickest burst through the hole but crumbles at initial contact.

This is a really deep team and a lot of guys that played last year will not be on the roster this year: Juice, Elam, Taliaferro, Boyle, Butler, either Lewis or Levine and Campanaro to name a few. Richardson and Reynolds won't make the team either. IMO here;s why:
Flacco, Mallett, Tucker, Cox and Koch
Monroe, Stanley, Yanda, Wagner, Hurst, Jensen, Urschel and Zuttah.
Williams, Watson, Gilmore and Pitta
Smith, Wallace, Perriman, Aiken, Moore, Givens and Waller
Dixon, Forsett and Allen..................27 on offense/special teams

Williams, Jernigan, Guy, Kaufusi, Davis, Henry, Urban, Judon and Moore
Suggs, Dumervil, Smith, Mosely, Brown, Correa, Orr and McClellan
Smith, Powers, Wright, Young and Arrington
Weddle, Webb, Brooks and either Lewis/Levine.........26 on defense.

When you cut 7 guys that played for you last year it's because there has been a serious upgrade in talent and depth.
I know it's very early but on paper this looks like a real deep team that could go a long way.

I really don't see us cutting juice over keeping 4 TE or definately keeping Waller on the roster as a WR....you would keep Hurst, with the way he played last year, over Lewis?...If we don't keep Reynolds on the 53 man roster, i'd put money on the Patriots snaging him...who is this Smith at LB?Judon is a LB, not a lineman, but I still wouldn't see us keeping eight lineman if we're running a 3-4 defense, 6 would be more likely, 7 at the max...and I wouldn't give up on Elam if he has a good camp and can stay healthy.

I love the Ravens but I am gonna tell ya...there will never be a day when anyone will honestly prefer Stanley/Correia/Kafusi over Buckner/Mack/Fuller. This draft isn't gonna go down as a good one especially when it could been a great one.

Don't forget,  before he broke his arm he was on pace for another 1k yard season,  which I think only 8rbs hit.   I don't get the hate on Forsett,  his age isn't equivalent to his miles

Can I have your future stock market tips since you can forsee these player's career results... In June.... A month after they have been drafted... Before playing a down in a game.

Not saying your wrong.... Or right.   But to judge a player's career this early is just pure nonsense and quite comical... Keep it coming.

Don't quote me,  pretty sure he was like top 5 in yards after contact in 15'.

It isn't judging after a month. It is watching college games, reading scouting reports, Looking at PFF, all those things play in. But hey, isn't that what being sports fan is all about? Predict, watch, cheer and 2nd guess. I thought the Perriman pick was bad a week before they made it. Bad hands, lacking a full route tree, Ravens drafted a 40 time/height/personality. Stanley had a rep for being soft and lacking strength for an NFL lineman. I see him performing somewhere in the Oher to Monroe range long term. Not terrible but falling short of what the Ravens expect from a #6 pick.

I'm gonna take you up on that, one on one. 1.Stanley vs Buckner- hard to tell the true impact of a LT vs DL however lets count the snaps and postition stats at the end of the year. (and 3 years) I predict Stanely wins out on this one. Especially since the Ravens would have been forced to pick a LT at 2 or 3 so combine Stanley/Kufusi against Buckner/Fuller (who did not land on the same team). 2. Correia-Mack the addtional players the Ravens acquired in this move clearly makes this favor the Correia move immediately. The issue is will one of the be a starter or "need" to be a starter. I think this will show in the 3 year plan. Mack may edge out in the first year but we will see. Would Mack and can Correia ...fulfill the Ravens needs to win the "big games"? 3. Kafusi vs Fuller play time this year could be heavy for Kafusi. He could be a starter on the Ravens line, if so he easily is the best choice verses Fuller who may not have the starter ability. Tough to compare this move, Its going to come down to starting position and first year contribution. Lastly the outcome of players is tough to predict if the Ravens chose anyone or all differently. Hope it works out the Best!
