OTA Report Tue June 7th, 2016

24 posts in this topic

Not at today's OTA's: Arrington, Campanaro, Dumervil, Flacco, Kaufusi, Monroe, J. Smith, SSS, Suggs and Yanda.

Campanaro is going to need a hell of a camp/pre-season to make the squad at this rate.

Kaufusi hasn't particpated in any OTAs after tweeking his back during rookie camp.

Kenneth Dixon participated in his 1st OTA.  Trent Richardson participated today also.

Happy to know Dixon and Richardson are on the field getting work in. Two wild cards that could really crank the offense up a notch or two if they could somehow achieve their potential this year.

Campanaro.... man you just feel for the guy. This guy gets a soft tissue injury getting out of bed in the morning. How is this even possible? Such promise, that we just may never see.

And I'm starting to get worried about Kaufusi. I'm sure they're just being cautious with him, especially since it's a back issue; but he's had weeks now. I'd at least like an update as to what specifically happened to his back and maybe a typical time table for that sort of injury. I know they're all hesitant to do that ever since the Perriman fiasco, but I'd like to know something.... anything.

Really excited to get an impression from coaches as to what they see in Judon, Ochi and Henry. 3 guys that I have high hopes for.

I feel bad for Campanaro he has shown flashes but CANT STAY HEALTHY  a team just cant have that taking up one of their valuable roster spots and with so many guys fighting for positions it is going to be an up-hill battle at best for the guy J.M.H.O.

Just hope that Richardson can revive his career. As so far, he has been a pretty huge bust. But also has played on teams that have not giving him that chance. Or vice versa.

Absolutely THIS.
He is a GREAT player.  Tons of heart and drive.  He could be a huge asset.
Maybe he needs to take more vitamins or eat more vegetables or something.
I do feel bad for the guy.

Ron Stanley is impressive when interviewed.  You can see his commitment to Ravens work ethic and his natural intelligence.

I agree.  He needs the breakout year all RB's desire.

I also hope he has no injuries.  You can see his natural abilities.  He is like a NE Wes Walker not a Miami Wes Walker. He is like the Swiss army knife of football.

Good Post.Kaufusi and Perriman may share the same astrological sign.  FYI: i live South of you in Mercer County NJ. Doylestown/Upper Bucks is beautiful!!!

I sure hope not - Kaufusi has the ability to win the starting DE job. One of my favorite draft picks this year.

And no kidding - I work in Feasterville/Trevose in the Bensalem and Bristol, PA area. Also spend quite a bit of time in Trenton for work and whatnot. And, yea ive lived all over but Doylestown/Newtown/New Hope is one of my favorite areas.... of course nothing beats Baltimore in my heart but ive enjoyed my time here.

Kaufusi has bad weight distribution in his core. Don't be surprised if he has chronic back problems all season and possibly in the next year or 2. He is pretty far from top game shape and even so during his college year. This could be a nagging problem and it will not only prevent him from playing but also prevent him from putting in the work he needs to get in top shape.

He's in great physical shape for sure. If he puts it together from the neck up, he'll be a force.

That being said, while he was out w/ a hamstring injury Harbs stated he wasn't in football shape yet.

So we'll see how he does when TC rolls around and he has to pass Harb's initial conditioning test.

I've been searching for some mention of Ochi or Judah performances, and early impressions of them but I haven't seen anything anywhere: not on here or other sites I visit

To bad for Campanaro he just can't shake the injury bug... At this rate he would have to comeback strong and have a dynamite training camp or some stellar preseason action with no more setbacks.

Yea ive been wanting the same. I have very high hopes for both of them. Judon is a guy that i think could carve out a role as a situational and rotational pass rusher early on, and Ochi would be a success if he just makes the team. I hope he does because the potential is definitely there.... he just needs some refinement and experience playing at this speed and against guys this talented.

We definitely focused our late picks and UDFA on high upside guys... its up to the coaching staff to get their potential out of them.

And Camp, man i just dont know. Everyones been saying hes working extremely hard, is in incredible shape and has been doing all the right things from a nutritional stand point. The guy by all accounts takes care of his body - why can he not avoid these injuries. Soft tissue stuff is usually either a freak accident, or has to do with not properly preparing the body to exert itself (stretching, warming up, cooling down). Idk if maybe he's not doing those things enough, or maybe he needs to do more than most bc hes just naturally more prone to muscle pulls. Maybe not enough potassium or iron in his diet? Get this kid some bananas.

Keeping my fingers crossed we can get Camp healthy this year and FINALLY keep him that way. Probably my favorite pick in that draft...especially for it being so late.

You won't hear anything on the pass rusher right now. There's no contact. It's all about the secondary and recievers right now

You beat me to it dude. When I suggested he would serve himself to cut 16-20 lbs of excess bad weight I neglected to mention most of his bad weight is in his core. For taller players that could lead to chronic back probs. Especially defensive ends and their drills. He would serve himself doing a fast hcg diet program. Because of his fat distribution pattern he will not lose muscle for at least the first 12 lbs. Then he should lose the last 6-8lbs at a slower more careful rate so that he will not cut into his functional muscle. Then complete his little defensive end body transformation by tacking on 10-13lbs of functional muscle. He will arrive at a leaner faster more explosive and flexible yet stronger 280lbs. Once he cuts his gut he will be more flexible as well as more explosive because of better and more symmetrical weight distribution. Everything will improve!! He would play at 4.75 or even faster!! Carrying all your bad weight in the core slows you down more as opposed to fat evenly distributed. His vertical and broad jumps  would considerably improve which means superior lower body explosion and flexibility. And his 3cone would compare to jj watts maybe better. Kufusi if he tweaks his body is a legit candidate for steal of the draft!! He will be as good or better than Jared Allen and Cameron jordan. He bends already very well for 285 lbs. Once he tweaked his body he would totally be a freak. He and Henry would like totally dominate as rookies and compete for biggest draft steals. Then I'm rooting for Chris Moore to be the biggest steal on offense!! He is much faster in his breaks and short areas than anybody thinks.Combine that with his speed and ball skills and he has what it takes to be a legit top end complete #2 WR.

Probably just tensed up muscles, ligaments  joints and tendons from all the work this offseason. Just needs some rest. He will be fine. Let's hope Chris Moore gets in his hip pocket. He expressed wants to work harder and get more flexible and smoother. Would be totally cool if Perriman Campanaro and Chris Moore win starting jobs and routinely beat coverage on all levels.

Judah (Wow I butchered his name lol Judon )

Maybe Campanaro should incorporate yoga for extra flexibility and injury prevention.

This new quoting system is weird it literally made me quote you and put my old message in , I had to delete that then write. What's up with that?

Stick him with Brady Anderson for awhile
