2016 Post Re-Draft who you taking?

3 weeks in Buckner should've been our pick. Stanley hasn't gave up any sacks yet but he's been handled on some plays. His biggest weakness right now is strength. Bull rush has given him fits Tyrone Holmes and Dante Fowler have exposed that. Hopefully he gets better

What does Buckner add to the team that would make it advantageous to have him over Stanley? Keep in mind that with no Stanley and no Monroe, you're likely starting Hurst.

Interior pass rush for 1 he's probably the best rookie d lineman. As good as Jernigan has been playing our dline would be very good at rushing the passer. Stanley has been struggling. Tyrone Holmes and Dante Fowler have given him fits. These aren't the elite rushers either. Like I said drafting a LT high doesn't mean he's going to come in and be an all pro from day one they have all struggled, but everyone on this board believes that isn't true lol.  You can't say we would start Hurst if Stanley wasn't there im sure our front office would have made a trade or have Alex Lewis start at LT. Stanley is also doubtful for Sunday so availability is a huge question at LT yet again.

stanleys dealing with his first injury ever iirc, his availability isnt in question, its a week to week injury, it happens.

dante fowler is one of the most naturally talented edge defenders in the league bar none, hes basically a rookie and just getting started, but fowler has the ability to be a straight up world beater, dont write a player off just because hes new in the league, 3 years from now there is a solid chance were looking at dante fowler as the best DE in the league, he has that much potential and has the right attitude and work ethic to go with it.

buckner wouldnt bring anything we dont already have, he better be the highest rated rookie DL, he was the first one taken after all.. and what is this pass rush he brings that you speak of? we have had excellent interior rush and our edge rush has struggled to finish the play at times, guess what buckners failing to do?... finish the play, no sacks, a few hurries, jernigan has outplayed him by a lightyear, which is to be expected since hes a vet compared to a rookie, but buckner is gonna be a very good run defender, he should be an above average pass rusher and should swat some passes, but he has looked nothing like an elite talent, and i see no reason at all to think we shouldve taken him, as it is right now he isnt even a big improvement over lawrence guy, if an improvement at all.

and if we didnt draft stanley, lewis at LT wouldnt have been a good consolation prize, and assuming we wouldve made a trade and found a starting caliber guy would be silly.

we are much better off with stanley on our team than buckner.

He has an entire six hurries (not hits or sacks) and a whole three run stops. Man, that really sounds like he'd take this defensive line over the top.

You're acting as if Dante Fowler wasn't taken third overall last year for a reason. You can go back and check in my history, but I was extremely high on Fowler because he has a really good set of pass rushing moves and was extremely gifted and natural. I'm not surprised that a rookie dealing with a foot injury struggled some against the best pass rusher from last year's class.

And if I'm not mistaken, this is the first time Stanley has missed a game in like three years. That sounds like a huge issue.

But yes, let's start Alex Lewis at LT. I'm not even sure he'll start today at LT with Stanley out. However, who would they have traded for? Teams aren't growing LT's on trees and trades aren't extremely common in the NFL. Remember they also have salary cap constraints, so getting a guy like Clady or Okung isn't very likely. They'd be shooting for the Jake Long types and we all saw how that turned out.

Stanley is by far who I'd take without a doubt in the first, but I would have loved Michael Thomas in the second. We could really use a big physical wide receiver with his talent. Alex Lewis looks like a great pick if he can work on his run blocking.
