62 This Guy days until kick off.

I am not sure who he is or who our QB is in this photo, but he is pointing right at me as if to say I had better post him in this thread or bad things could happen.

How could you not remember Jeff Blake? He stated what, 1 or 2 games for us. Lol!! Mike Flynn though, he was a beast!!

61 Justin Tucker game-winning kicks until kickoff.

tucker1217.jpg

I don't know if this counts but I'm doing it anyway.

I only found one player under the number and he was just some backup who only played here for two seasons.

But everyone here remembers this play. A 61 yard game winner on a Monday night in Detroit. The longest field goal ever on Monday Night Football.

Okay the picture made my head hurt. I know my math is bad but I didn't think it was that bad.

Your reasoning is sound.

61 yard days until kick off it is.

Before the explanation i was totally confused... the verbiage made it sound like you were posting that he has 61 game winning field goals in his career.

But, creative interpretation on the countdown. I like it.

59 Dannell Ellerbe day til kickoff...

120874298-dannell-ellerbe-of-the-baltimo

Crucial member of the 2012 SB squad. Helped fill in admirably for Ray Lewis when he went down with injury. He and Jameel McClain were two UDFA LBs who played key roles for us as rotational guys for a while before both stepped up big as starters when called upon. Continued that legacy of landing UDFA LBs who contributed in a big way.

I really wish Ellerbe wouldnt have chased to money to cash in on that one big deal, because we've been looking for a long term, steady, LB that excels in coverage ever since and he really flamed out in Miami and now New Orleans. Hasnt played terribly, but hasnt been nearly as good as he was with us. He would have earned a good contract with us at the time, and would have probably continued to play well where he'd be earning a much better 3rd contract than he will now.

I think it would have been a very mutually beneficial relationship for him to stick around. Crazy that he ended up being the big name FA and hasnt done much since, and then a guy like Josh Bynes that played decent here but left to little fan fare has been tearing it up in Detroit. Another one that would be nice to still have around.

Tomorrow's got some good options.

Well said.   Ellerbe and McClain were just one of the many many pieces that put on a star performance for the ravens.   Paul Kruger put his efforts in like his life depended on it.   Cary Williams put his best efforts like his life depended on it.   Many people on that team, that has clear flaws but were making EFFORTS to WIN.  Was a great thing to watch.   It put me on a lot of heartattack watching that team that year, but that's probably the thrill i always look for when watching NFL.

This is why we all love football.  Expect the unexpected.   I'm excited about this years squad.   So many unknowns ready to prove something.  We have so much talent that has no been unraveled yet.   I am hoping for the best.

58 Peter Boulware days until kickoff...

1-4-peter-boulware-1997.jpg?w=497

Could it really have been anyone else? Ogden/Lewis in the first draft, followed by Boulware/Sharper in the 2nd really set the franchise up for greatness from the very beginning. Boulware, the original Baltimore sack king, got off to an amazing start winning DROY in 1997.

Only Suggs has surpassed his sack total. Its a shame injuries ended up taking a toll and cut his career short after only 9 years. Definitely a Raven great, but unfortunately isnt as well-known nationally as he should be because of the short career.

Dumervil definitely does the #58 justice by carrying on that legacy today....

Another #58 I remember -- Michael McAdoo. Remember him?? I believe he was out of UNC and was an athletic freak type that wouldve been a drafted 1st or 2nd day, but had some issues. Forgetting what it was, either legal or academic issues of some sort. He declared for the Supplemental draft, i remember, and we signed him after as an UDFA.

Was one of those UDFA's that we got behind and thought could be a contributor, but he got injured right away and we never got to see what he could do. I also remember him as being the guy that we cut to make room for Daryl Smith. Not exactly what you want to be remembered for, but hey - thanks for the roster spot.

Seems to me someone needs to be on here at 12:01 AM.....

If it is me I know who I would pick and I don't have to think about it.

57 OJ Brigance days until kickoff

OJ-Brigance-Ed-Reed.jpg

OJ Brigance played a long football career - not all NFL - through his career. He played in Baltimore both as a Stallion (CFL) and Raven - winning championships with both teams. He made his living as a special teams ace and made the opening tackle in Super Bowl XXXV. Since he playing days, he served with Ravens in Player Development, eventually becoming the Director of the program and appearing on RaveTV.

In 2007, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's disease), a degenerative spinal nerve disease that kills neurons for voluntary muscles. The average ALS patient survives two to five years after diagnosis. It has sapped his ability to control his muscles over the years. The disease is eventually fatal as it makes even breathing and eating impossible. There is no known cure. However, when everyone was doing the ALS Ice Bucket challenge and donating, it was going to people like OJ.

Noted for his charity, kindness, faith, strength, and integrity he's a great asset to the team and has close bonds with many players, staff, and community members.

You made the right choice. There was only one....

What a man. Great inspiration - the embodiment of faith, strength, courage, community, charity, service, and loyalty.

Hopefully one day the Ravens will honor him in a way that represents everything he means to the Ravens and the city of Baltimore. I know he doesnt want to be inducted to the ROH, but im sure the organization will find some appropriate way to capture and pass on his legacy to future generations.

The guy represents everything it means to be a Raven. He did the dirty work without needing the spotlight. Did all the little things that a championship football team needs but that goes unnoticed. And hes still doing that great work, but now behind the scenes as a mentor to our players.

Great read, what a man. He's a special person for sure.

If someone could, however, I'd love to read about Bart Scott also. As a newbie I love those presentations and I'm very curious about him.

Thx in advance.

Lost respect for Bart when he decided to get upset at fans for booing his poor performance.

55 Jamie Sharper days til kickoff...

656471-jan-2001-jamie-sharper-of-baltimo

Part of the 2nd great draft that really set the foundation for the great Ravens defense of the early 2000's... selected in the 2nd round after the great Peter Boulware. A member of arguably the best LB corps of all time.

Made a clutch interception in the AFC Championship Game in 2000 to help send us to the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately we lost him to Houston as part of the expansion draft, where he went on the lead the league in tackles during his time with them.

Then played a year with Seattle in 2005 helping them to their first Super Bowl.

Great player, again with a shortened career due to injuries. Unfortunate, but will always be remembered as a Raven great.

54 Prescott Burgess days until kickoff...

Baltimore+Ravens+v+Washington+Redskins+u

Werent many great options, but I like the guy. He was a late round draft pick and a ST standout for us during his time here.

Was a guy that was constantly moved around for roster reasons. Traded to the Patriots who cut him and signed him to their PS... we wanted to sign him back but we played them that week so we couldnt... immediately after the game we then signed him. Soon after he was placed on IR, and then brought back. Was waived a second time and brought back for a 3rd stint when Ayanbadejo was injured and we needed a ST ace.

Nothing spectacular, but a good role player.
