19 Johnny Unitas days until kick off.

Even if there (really) was another 19 to pick from,  I would still go with this guy.

This guy made me so emotional when he got his hands on the ball. It would either be for 6 points, or he would pitch it back to a teammate to score 6 points. Or of course the occassional giving the ball back to the other team. But it was worth it. Probably my favorite Raven of all time.

Hahahaha, i can remember countless times me, my brother, father, and grandpa watching the game... Ed comes up with the interception and we're all yelling "Just hold the ball!! Just hold the dang ball Ed!!""

It was like a rush of excitement followed by the anxiety of him potentially giving it right back. That one or two times he pitched it and it worked - a thing of beauty. But the other times, awful.

17 Tandon Doss days until the Ravens regular season kickoff on Sept 11

tumblr_mtjqwm8msG1r3k8ffo1_1280.jpg

Tandon was a 4th round WR out of Indiana with well-rounded athleticism. He could also return kicks as he is doing against the Texans in this image. Like many Ravens mid-round WRs he never produced to his full potential but still contributed on a Super Bowl winning team.

This was a PERFECT touch pass from Josh Johnson!

When I first saw him throw it, I was terrified he overthrew him.

16 Yamon 'Yaboi' Figurs days until kickoff

Yamon was a former 3rd round pick and electric punt/kick returner. Incredible speed and an awesome rookie season. He never quite developed into a receiving option although he scored a long TD against Houston in 2008.

He was good to have in Madden. Awesome on returns and his speed was lethal in the game.

Too bad that never really translated in actual play. But he was an electric return man for us.

And easily one of the best names in Ravens history.

Didn't he just get cut by Phili? Or am I thinking the wrong Givens?

11 my daughter days until kick off

FB_IMG_1472613919401_zpstikcjij5.jpg

October 2011 my daughter was selected to be the Ravens Tee Kid.  We got to hang out on the sidelines for warm ups,  the National Anthem and introductions. My daughter then got to run out and grab the kicking tee on the opening kick off.

That's pretty cool, what became of the tee? Shuffled away by an equipment manager?

Yeah, I asked but we could not keep it.

10 Marc Bulger days until kickoff

marc_bulger_2010_12_19.jpg

One in a long line of quarterbacks that have tried to filled Warner's shoes for the Rams, and probably the best backup the Ravens ever had. He was insurance, a chance to still be a championship team if Flacco went down. Flacco didn't, but we still weren't a championship team.

I think Bulger was also the first established, productive veteran QBs we had as a backup during the Flacco years. Other than Troy 'crawl to Cleveland' Smith. I think Joe gleaned a lot from him and they had a close relationship.

8 Trent Dilfer days until kick off.

658044-645x356_zps3hnyr5xr.jpg

He won us a Super Bowl and we sent him packing. Leaving the Ravens with lame quarterback after lame quarterback.

I never thought he was really that bad. He was absolutely better than many of his predecessors.

I think it was probably the right call to get rid of him to improve, but the problem was who they got to replace him. If they would have grabbed Brees at the end of the first in the following draft to be the new QB it would have been seen as a great move.

7 Kyle Boller  days until kick off.

51164170_zps7toln0et.jpg

Yeah, the guy has his haters and I get that. I will concede he was no super star, but he was far far from the worst QB ever. Far from the worst draft pick as well.

I really believe he was a victim of scirmstances.  O.C.'s, o-line, receivers. He took beating after beating and got up every time. Eventually all those beatings left him scared of his own shadow.

He was always a team player.  Never threw any one under the bus. Was always good to the fans. He was a classy guy. I am disappointed his career never amounted to much.

Oh, just for what it'sworth.  Watch Boller in the game against the undefeated Pats. He played an amazing game that night.
